Masterfully done, even with a little battle with a broken string at the end. Greg Koch is a wizard of the axe, no less than the hero's he pays tribute to.
I had the honor and pleasure of working with Greg on a few in-store clinics. A gentleman and one of the funniest guys around, pure grizzle! He sounds fantastic on this, even the 5 string portion!
My God, this band plays too well, I'm a big fan of them. Young musicians of today could look to them for inspiration. Congratulations Koch-Marshall Trio.
We’ll done! When I first started playing guitar in my early twenties this is the kind thing I loved to listen to. Slow and sad and makes you appreciate the individual contributions of each instrument. Then I got away from playing and life got to be a crazy combination of work and kids and everything else. It’s nice to be taken back to the simpler pleasures in life.
Tasty and very respectful. The "Gregory Kochery" is always dishing up flavor from the Tele in bites that always leave me wanting more. Groovy dude, and excellent work to the band mates. Perfect al dente.
I've seen him back in the 90's live in Appleton, WI at a small bar. He was great then, and looks like he's only getting better. I can't find any of his first albums, but this cover was on it, and it was astounding back in like 1994.
I think Greg’s playing is the closest thing to hearing the influence of Jeff Beck without it being a copycat Greg, so inventive is playing, is so quirky, sometimes and playful, and he uses the volume and tone, knobs and whammy bar and especially his insanely great bending and vibrato in a similar way to beck and really there’s no one else that can play cause we ended as lovers other than Jeff Beck like Greg Koch. and Dylan is just crushing it on the drums
Awesome ! Hope to see KMT in the U.K. this year . I’ll get you some strings made by Upper Clyde Shipbuilders to stop those pesky breakages. Dylan on fire here too 👍
Great version, broken string and all! Not to take anything away from this tribute as it is fantastic, but Beck's version is so ingrained in my memory that all other attempts pale just a bit by comparison. Sort of like trying to remake Casablanca or Wizard of Oz. Good luck!
Greg played great here. I still can’t believe Jeff Beck passed. Beck to me was the human guitar if that makes sense. Everyone wants to be like him and impossible to copy. We all try very hard though lol. His music lives on forever and you can feel it right here in this version, well done.
Greg has been playing this for at least 10 years. This is his best version, despite the broken string. He plays Strats, but he likes the T-style. I'll bet he heard Beck do it on a Telecaster and that was even better than a Stratocaster. This version needed more subtle drums and more organ, IMHO.
I know this is supposed to be a guitar video but the drummer is so great, I have to comment on that.. He is creating such a pocket, just the right amount behind the beat to make it feel great. Too bad there was no bass player for him to work with.
Jeff Beck is the electric guitar. The electric guitar is Jeff Beck. Jeff Beck lives on. Any time you hear someone laying out something tasty on an electric, Jeff's spirit is there.
Cause WE'VE Ended as Lovers. They didn't end as lovers, they have broken up. Hence the bittersweet tone of the song, Great playing and tone. Very well done.
With Beck you can’t always tell what is whammy or slide, or what is fret bends or whammy. With Greg you’re not altogether surprised he has heard of Jeff Beck.
Just imagine all those guitar player who'd say: "A Jeff Beck homage with a non whammy bar axe? No Way!" Well, Greg knows better... (and we do now, too!)
Ok it was awesome… It was also too much wailing … at times he stayed too far from the melody… but before any of you assholes give me shit.. it was still awesome.
Great guitar. But the drummer totally misses the point and should have a listen to the dynamics on Beck's version on 'Blow by Blow'. It is all about subtlety, and starts with brushes before kicking up to sticks. There is no point in Greg being subtle yet the drums are bashing and crashing, playing a beat, not cultivating the groove. This is made even worse given the absence of bass guitar and pulsating Rhodes chords to lay down the spacious pulse heard on the record. A fine version that could be fantastic.
So many players are showing homage to Beck...he deserves all of them...Thx Gregory...
Greg makes Beck look stupid!
Beautiful tribute. Greg is one of the best guitar players in the world.
Masterfully done, even with a little battle with a broken string at the end. Greg Koch is a wizard of the axe, no less than the hero's he pays tribute to.
Incredible! I dont want to say this is the best version but I cannot believe what i just heard.... RIP Beck
Thank you Greg...
You read my mind
This got cooking so beautifully. You did the master justice Mr. Gregory Kochery!
THANX..! 😘🙏
Nicely done Mr Koch
I had the honor and pleasure of working with Greg on a few in-store clinics. A gentleman and one of the funniest guys around, pure grizzle! He sounds fantastic on this, even the 5 string portion!
Thank goodness he was playing a hardtail! Great tribute, and an unexpected display of bad-assery.
Probably the best tribute I've seen to the late Jeff Beck. Masterfully done, Greg, bravo. Absolutely superb.
My God, this band plays too well, I'm a big fan of them. Young musicians of today could look to them for inspiration. Congratulations Koch-Marshall Trio.
I’m speechless. Great tribute Greg. Thank you and the guys for a beautiful performance
Brilliant
So much playing outside the box. One of the best Tele players ever, but players in general too.
Koch is a master of the guitar. The feel is stellar.
Priceless.
We’ll done!

You can call this guitarwork simpeler pleasures, for most guitarist this level is blood sweet and tears and never get there!
Excellent skill, what a tribute
Amazing Greg
Well now. That was something. Amazing. Bravo.
Beautiful tribute to Jeff Beck. The phrasing and tone exceptional and all on a tele. Good on you Greg!
I see you have a few of my liveviddy videos on your homepage, thanks! Are you Avrum's Miller's son?
Most excellent! That tone!
Absolutely beautiful, and capped off with a blown string.

All this without a trem bar and a Telecaster.. l thought I’d seen everything. Brava there meister very Nice!
Absolutely beautiful...
Beautiful playing from the entire trio, very nice indeed!
This was very emotional for me because it made me think of Jeff Beck
Tasty and very respectful. The "Gregory Kochery" is always dishing up flavor from the Tele in bites that always leave me wanting more. Groovy dude, and excellent work to the band mates. Perfect al dente.
Well done Sir, thank you.
I was fortunate to be at the Fender 50th concert and saw you and Jeff Beck that Friday night. It was beyond special.
Tremendous.
Great tribute
Topezeraaa... Greg
Great homage to JB... and on a Tele ! (luckily as 1 string broke ;-) Greg's a monster player !!
Wonderful tribute to the master. RIP JB
Bring it, Greg! 🎸 digging Dylan's Bonham style kit. 🤟
Guy is just absolutely ridiculously talented...

broke a string right at the end haha, but finished gloriously!
Great Snare Sound
sounded great!
4:48 String breaks and handles it like a pro. Greg is the fucking man.
he doesn't need that one anyway
@@jamesha175 Apparently not!

boha ist ja sowatt von gut!!!Dolle!
Nailed it like a true string strangler extrordinaire! Just want to shout out Dylan for driving that hotrod to the end!

Fantastic Gristleman!!!
The intro drum overdose sent me away……. 🦨

Yeah, this cat can really throw down! Legit as one of the best!
🔥😎👏👏👏👏👍
Un bel hommage à Jeff Beck !!!!!!!!! Un Grand Bravo à KMT !!!!!! 👏👏👏🎸🥁🎹
Jeff Beck is the electric guitar.
The electric guitar is Jeff Beck.
Jeff Beck lives on. Any time you hear someone laying out something tasty on an electric, Jeff's spirit is there.
Worth every broken string. Thanks Greg.
Great Greg and you broke a string…and RIP Jeff Beck.
Greg is so tasteful
Cause WE'VE Ended as Lovers. They didn't end as lovers, they have broken up. Hence the bittersweet tone of the song, Great playing and tone. Very well done.
My god
I love Greg Koch, but this video is a great example of how Jeff Beck simply cannot be matched.
With Beck you can’t always tell what is whammy or slide, or what is fret bends or whammy.
With Greg you’re not altogether surprised he has heard of Jeff Beck.
Strings can’t handle the power of Mansquatch
Wow, the drums sound like they could be playing anything from TSRTS.
Amazing player…Kochenizer killed it🥋
Just imagine all those guitar player who'd say: "A Jeff Beck homage with a non whammy bar axe? No Way!" Well, Greg knows better... (and we do now, too!)
Young Dylan is quite good on the solo improv section, he’s quite a rascal drummer wise.
Drummer so loves to be heard - dynamics anyone?
Very nice. But what did that poor string ever do to you? lol
Lovers are two people who ARE or WERE actually physically together. Not together always in la la or dream land.
Where's the bass guitar???
no mic's on anything
Dylan….stop rushing the tempo…just sayin’ cause I love you guys! See you in Pittsburgh, in February!
Ok it was awesome…
It was also too much wailing … at times he stayed too far from the melody… but before any of you assholes give me shit.. it was still awesome.
Never like Jeff!
Personally I thought he'd do a better version than this. I've heard local pals do it better.
Poor interpretation to say the least.
Great guitar. But the drummer totally misses the point and should have a listen to the dynamics on Beck's version on 'Blow by Blow'. It is all about subtlety, and starts with brushes before kicking up to sticks.
