In this confusing time of quarantine - when politics has become more important than human suffering and death - I looked for something to calm my soul. This is my hallelujah moment. Thank you

Oh Yes! Thank God! Thank You, Gregory Porter, for your soulful anointing - bringing the words of this song to life through your amazing voice and comfort and meaning at the same time. The pianist echoes the same in every note.
That was wonderful, joyful, soulful, meaningful, lots of substance, even as an Atheist and Non-believer I can appreciate this it was beautiful maybe some of you believers are right there is no such thing as a total Non-believer I still have my doubts though.
Have you listened to Gregorian chant or know of the history of it? th-cam.com/video/Q_NHowPWrtM/w-d-xo.html The Communion prayer “Pascha nostrum” from Easter Sunday at 13:07 is probably the happiest prayer in all the Church. Translated as “Christ our Paschal Lamb has been sacrificed, Alleluia. Therefore let us keep the feast with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth, Alleluia Alleluia Alleluia.” Maybe it will touch you like it did me
Belief is a grace given by God, no believer believes because of himself, he is simply cooperating with God’s grace. If you desire to have faith, to know if God is real, ask Him for the grace to have faith.
amazing grace shall always be my song of praise, for it was grace that brought my Liberty, I'll never know just why he came to love me so he looked beyond my faults and saw all my needs. I shall forever lift my eyes to Calvary to view the cross where Jesus died for me and how marvelous the grace that caught my falling soul I'm glad about it I'm glad about it he looked beyond he looked beyond faults and saw my needs
tout en simplicité, comme quoi les grands artistes ne sont pas ceux qu'on entend à longueur de journéé en radio.!! mais belle et bien ceux qui font dans la simplicité. de la sincérité, voilà ce que la musique est réellement.
Gregory Porter has very well covered a composition which also was produced , written and originally performed by Andrae Crouch with his backup singers " the Disciples ". He titled it " My Tribute ". It later was cover by others then it was called by the chorus " To God be the Glory ". If you are able to listen to Andrae Crouch's live version. Amazing ! Praises be to " the Great I Am".
@@MarvinParksAmericanJazzSinger R R is a bit off topic pertaining to THIS song. But I think R R is trying to say Gregory Porter also covered a popular gospel song that was written & performed by Andre Couch and The Disciples called "My Tribute" also known as "To God Be The Glory"...it's a beautiful song.
@@KingCASONIII no it's the same melody. There are several versions of this song: It was originally The Londonderry Air. Then Oh Danny Boy, this hymn, and several others.
He (i.e., God) didn't look beyond your faults or any of our faults who are Christians by His Grace. The penalty of our sins required payment for which none of us could pay except pur Lord Jesus Christ. To think otherwise is to rob the Gospel of it's power. No, He ( God The Father) put all of our sins (not faults) upon His Son, The Lord Jesus Who carried them to The Cross and paid that bloody price. We must never forget that it was for sin that Christ died and was raised from the dead and not our faults! Fault is a completely different animal. Why of course sin is our fault as we are born on sins and tresspasses, we were not born in, nor do we commit "fault". No, we are born in sin and commit sin. Oh, THANK YOU LORD JESUS for paying the price of sin for us!!!
@@SongsMusiCanto It isn't. It's a hymn. Andrae may have an arrangement of it and he did record a version of it in the 1970s ubut Crouch didn't actually write it.
@@MarvinParksAmericanJazzSinger Thank you for clarifying! I just looked up its origins, because you made me curious. The music is from an old Irish traditional called "Londonderry Air" and many different lyrics were written on that tune, most famously "Danny Boy". Dottie Rambo wrote the lyrics "He looked beyond all my faults" and recorded it with her group The Rambos in 1968, after a former governor of Louisiana (Jimmy Davis) had attended a concert in which one of Dottie's other songs was being played. He contacted her, and asked her to write new lyrics to "Danny Boy". Quite an interesting history!
My God!!!! ..My God..just so beautiful 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🌈

True faith isn't certainty it's hope. Hope that what you can't see and think you might feel is real.
You sound more like an agnostic than an atheist. They are not synonymous.
Your comment is honest and beautiful. And it’s ok to have doubts. As a believer, I still suffer from that myself about a lot of things.
Much respect.
