- A pastor read letters from surviving roommates Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke at a service held this weekend, remembering the impact their four friends had on their lives. Officials say the pair have been ruled out as potential suspects. There are still no suspects or murder weapons, but frustration in the tight-knit town is boiling over.

Imagine realizing how close you came to death if the killer only knew you were there
Diane Notch That's right and I'm thinking that the survivor's guilt would be very difficult to cope with too.
It's a possibility that the perpetrator/s knew that they were there, but weren't interested. I'm only speculating though and hope the truth will be made known sooner rather than later. 🙁
They are traumatized. They probably have survivor's guilt. I don't think I'd ever be able to shake off something like that. Knowing in a way, I shouldn't be here. Crazy.

Imagine seeing an intruder in your home and hearing cries yet neglecting to call the police for more than 8 hours. There is absolutely NO excuse.

Imagine letting your hindsight bias get the best of you. The "crying" she heard could have been taken as an argument between X & E. Pretty common for people that age, especially after drinking. What makes you think DM saw an intruder? She saw someone leaving who she assumed was a guest. Oh, but he was wearing a mask. It was 28 degrees that morning and some people still wear masks for covid.

When you look into stories of serial killers past, they are typically very intelligent people, and give law enforcement a run for their money. I understand people want answers - the family wants answers, but I don't think it will be for quite some time. The killer covered their tracks very well.

She saw her friends stabbed to death probably in weird positions and blood everywhere it’s horrible to think about but that’s the world that we live in. She’s either going to let that destroy her from the inside out and ruined her life or she’s going to become stronger from it and figure out a way to move on.
Yeah they’ll never be able to get that image out of their heads. I once saw a mangled body and it kept me awake at night for weeks after. I can still picture every detail. I didn’t have a personal connection with that person so I’d imagine it’s only going to be worse for them for much longer.

There was hardly any part of his body that was still intact and I could smell the blood - I was physically ill. This was in 2009 and it still physically and emotionally messes with me. Can’t imagine how the surviving girls feel💔
For people who may be giving the dad grief for how loud he’s being, you really can’t say you understand until you are in those shoes. My little sister died right before thanksgiving and the bits of details that are coming out, made us all believe foul play was involved. Over the last three weeks, my mom, brother and sister have all been calling the sergeant and officer of the case, all at different times. Probably 30 phone calls between four of us. When something like this happens, and there’s an open case involving a loved one, you want to offer every detail, basically leave no stone unturned. I pray they find the one responsible for their murders. And I also pray they figure out who’s responsible for my sisters death as well. No matter what, all of the deceased I’m mentioning were taken too early. It isn’t fair!

I’m sorry for your loss but Kaylee’a dad is doing nothing but interrupting the investigation. I get it’s an emotional time for him but if he wants answers he has to wait for both the forensic and physical evidence to be processed. His claim that Kaylee had a “stalker” was already debunked, it’s quite sad to see the rapid mental decline of someone in pain🥺
Checking in with the police is different than trying to constantly be in the spotlight. The other parents are being patient, this dude is just dumb & arrogant & wants attention. He seems to miss a very basic point, they want a solid case, so they are keeping things close to their chest. I think this is a class issue. The other families are very appropriate, even in their grief. There is something off about kaylees family. They seem to want attention beyond just what can help the case ( like the other parents) The other families are probably like “ Shut up, stop jeopardizing the case!”

Police usually keep some details only know to the police and the perpetrator. It’s one method of catching him/them.
To the living roommates. Dylan and Bethany you should be ashamed for letting your friends lay murdered. You could smell the rank blood and Dylan did nothing. Shame of you all. You bring in friends but not police. 10 year olds know to call the police. You Dylan should be charged my personal opinion.
As you don’t know the details, you shoulda kept this judgement to yourself till you knew the facts at least.
Not just blood but bodily excretions of four butchered people and there must have been blood trails after Kaylee was gouged over fifty times . I live in a wooden house and anyone walking above me can be heard ,as can talking . Yelling can be heard from down in one room , up to the other end of the house . They know or were not actually there .

With 4 or so roommates living above them, they're either heavy sleepers, not much noise carries to the basement, or they have ways to block it out like earplugs, white noise generators, or some pharmalogical aid. Even a neighbor said she's had to use earplugs because their partys can get pretty loud.

Yep it was one of the friends that had came over. And we find out that she was on the second floor.
It took her and her true friends almost 9 hours to cover their tracks, make up lies then call 911. She helped end these 4 by not calling 911 at the time. WHO would NOT call 911 right when they allegedly saw a 5" man in a balaclava.....

With this story about hearing noises and commotion and crying the night before and a room mate passed out …I don’t know there are pieces missing here

As one of the fathers of one of the victims stated regarding the cause of death, "It was very quick...a cut to the neck etc." He compared the wound similar to Nicole Brown Simpson's death wound and bleeding out. Just as Nicole, she most likely did not even realize what happened, and they were sleeping, as well. This tragic event is just horrible and so sad.
Watch Johnny Law take on the inside of the house and where they were located and why they didn’t hear anything.

@@scorch4299 Right students party back and forth between states there too. Washington State University is only 15 minutes away from University of Idaho. Both towns blend into each other. More people than some think. Kids at Pullman don't feel safe either. Kids from Moscow go to party with kids in Pullman because weed is legal and other reasons.

I need interrogation videos to read body language and verbal/non verbal cues. I feel nothing listening to something read by someone else. I need to see THEM read it. The fact a pastor/someone else read what they have to say only RAISES a million more red flags for me.

These 4 precious, beautiful blessings deserve to be remembered. Too many precious, beautiful blessings, both adults & babies have had their lives cut short in this type of sick & heinous manner. It usually takes decades to determine the person's identity or that precious life is never acknowledged again. I really hope these 4 blessings are not forgotten as so many blessings before them have been forgotten.

The surviving roommates must have heard something....a stabbing would make each one of them scream!!!! I hope people come out and say something..I learned a lot of people are scared to come out when a criminal is loose...
I sleep with earplugs and sometimes hear my husband when he gets up to the bathroom.. the door, the flush. How did these girls not hear panic screams..?? The neighbor said he heard it!? Only he thought it was another party, there's also different kinds of screams. Common man, something doesn't make enough sense!

If your worried about someone in your household laying still, possibly unconscious, you break their door down or run for the others in the house. They convenient called the cops because that was the “right” time to do so since Dylan was done cleaning up her mess. I’m convinced the other survivor is innocent but nit Dylan. Even if she didn’t commit the actual stabbing, she is the mastermind behind the whole murder.

the roommate gave the suspect an 8 hour head start, and never made certain her house mates are okay after seeing the eyebrows of the suspect

What we know is that roommate Dillon was in her room on the second floor next to Xana's room, heard the dog barking, as she thought Madison or Kaylee was playing with him, she heard one of the roommates say, "Someone's here, (it was most likely Xana that said this), then moments later crying, and when she looked out her door for the 3rd time to see who could be there, she saw the killer and got a really good look at him as he stood there, then he walked past her to go out the sliding glass door. She then locked herself inside her room even though she saw him leave. No call to 911, no help from her to these poor people in any way.
So sad! But why didn’t she call 911!!!!!!?????

I think time is of importance in solving this case , but it also takes a lot of hands to work through all the tips, leads, the possibilities seem endless right now . We need to let them do their job. And with the upmost expertise , and with the FBI being innvolved with this case, justice will come to light.
