Il nuovo inserto Air-Liner realizzato da Vittoria sembra proprio risolvere il problema di stallonature, tagli e forature dei pneumatici tubeless MTB, migliorando le prestazioni di guida in termini di stabilità, aderenza e controllo anche a basse pressioni.
Air-Liner è l’inserto tubolare in schiuma di Vittoria per pneumatici tubeless concepito per proteggere il cerchio, migliorare la prestazione di guida, prevenire le stallonature e diminuire le pizzicature del copertone.
All’interno dello pneumatico, Air-Liner sostituisce una parte del volume occupato dall’aria. La minore quantità di aria consente allo pneumatico di deformarsi al terreno e di attutire urti in modo più efficace rispetto ad una normale copertura tubeless. Ne beneficia l’intera esperienza di guida, più controllata e sicura. Danneggiare i cerchi su rocce taglienti è un ricordo del passato. Air-Liner lavora con l’aria rimanente nello pneumatico come un sistema a sospensione. Ma a differenza di una sospensione, in grado sì di assorbire gli impatti, l’inserto svolge una cruciale azione di protezione sia del cerchio che della copertura.
La forma di Air-Liner, con i due intagli sulla base e sulla sommità del tubo, consente al rider di personalizzare a proprio piacimento la pressione dell’aria. In caso di impatto, gli intagli consentono all’inserto di flettersi, comprimersi e quindi indurirsi in modo da formare una barriera protettiva che copre il cerchio; in tutto questo, il battistrada rimane morbido, garantendo sempre la massima trazione. L’intaglio superiore consente non solo il facile scorrimento di aria e lattice, ma anche l’adattabilità ad ogni tipo di meccanismo valvola.
La forma tubolare dell’inserto simula ovviamente la forma naturale dello pneumatico, garantendo una superficie di contatto adeguata in prossimità delle spalle della carcassa. Di conseguenza, Air-Liner aumenta anche la stabilità laterale dello pneumatico: le prestazioni in curve strette, salite e frenate sono migliori. In altre parole, Air-Liner si inserisce in quello spazio dello pneumatico che è essenziale per diminuire forature, danni al cerchio e per aumentare la stabilità laterale.
Air-Liner nasce dalla collaborazione tra Vittoria e Deaneasy, ed è progettato in Italia. Il materiale di cui è costituito l’inserto è un polimero di nuova generazione e il prodotto viene ricavato attraverso un processo di carotaggio. A differenza dello stampaggio e dell’estrusione - processi più economici utilizzati per prodotti simili in commercio - il carotaggio consente di ricavare l’inserto senza alterare né la composizione chimica né la struttura del polimero. Infatti, il valore aggiunto di Air-Liner risiede proprio nella qualità del processo produttivo che lo contraddistingue dalla concorrenza. Air-Liner è realizzato considerando le esigenze delle singole discipline che contraddistinguono il panorama mountainbike:
• Misura S - formato Cross-Country/Marathon - per coperture da 1.9” a 2.2”
• Misura M - formato All Mountain/Enduro - per coperture da 2.25” a 2.5”
• Misura L - formato Enduro/Plus - per coperture da 2.5” a 2.7”
• Misura XL - formato Plus/Fat - per coperture da 2.7” a 4.0”
Air-Liner è disegnato per utilizzo su ruote tubeless, con pneumatici tubeless o tubeless-ready e con qualsiasi tipo di lattice. Inoltre, si può utilizzare con qualsiasi tipo di valvola tubeless.
I vantaggi di Air-Liner sono molteplici:
• Migliora la prestazione di guida
• Maggiore protezione del cerchio
• Previene il rischio di forature
• Consente l’utilizzo di pressione più basse
• Diminuisce la deformazione dello pneumatico (effetto burping)
• Diminuisce lo stallonamento

Il polimero base che costituisce l’Air-Liner è leggero ma estremamente resistente. Questa particolare struttura conferisce al prodotto leggerezza senza sacrificarne resistenza e durata di vita: Air-Liner pesa in media 165 grammi ed ha una durata di utilizzo che si attesta sulle 2000 ore in condizioni normali o un’ora in discesa senza aria (runflat) - calcolo effettuato considerando un rider di 80 kg di peso.

cutting the green tubing to length adn inserting a zip tie is the easiest part of the video. Why did that take 4:32 of the video, and then almost no time is dedicated to getting the tube on the rim and notes about the sealant?

I was using split fome for pipe insulation 30 years ago the ideas similar I used bath sealant in the iner tyer a 4mm coating then placed the inertube inside , when you get a puncher the sealant self seals

-Size S - for tires from 1.9 "to 2.2"
• Size M - from 2.25 "to 2.5"
• Size L - for tires from 2.5 "to 2.7"
• Size XL - for tires from 2.7 "to 4.0"
the fact that the wheel is 26 inches does not change anything, because it needs to be cut, just see the thickness.
Seriously poor installation video. Don’t show the valve stem installation, adding sealant, or actually getting the tire completely on. Should have titled this, “How to prepare for installation”
I'm not even sure what this thing is. Is it a tube? A tube replacement? Hmm...
MattExzy it’s like a CushCore, to help prevent pinch flats on a tubeless setup. So you still have to run sealant and air. I’m these actually work fine, assuming you can figure out all the parts that are missing from this installation video.
I have to agree. 5 minutes to show you how to pop two holes in foam with a nail, zip tie ends together and wet down... 30 seconds was more than enough for that.
If you cannot figure that out, you should be paying people to do everything for you

Hay this could be used on car tires! Just have an inner tube that is puncture resistant on thw inside close to the hub with a driver being able to program the hardness or softness of the tire depending upon road conditions. 😊

Mountain bike tires are notorious for getting Flats. Recycling a 1970s idea with better materials could work.

How much sealant do you need ? And do you still add any air?
Steve Lee from what ive understand from other vids. You still need to add air because you need air pressure to push the sealant to the leak.
As to how much sealant, there's a chart on its label, depends on your tire size.
It's also useful for motorcycle 🏍

-А тем что можно спустить до почти 0,5АТМи не бояться что Провернет покрышку (и что от туда воздух оставшийся явыйдет ) при боковом усили (те сравание покрышки в торону - на низком давлении -и на безкамерке -Это вполне реально (ЭТО 2ой момент )
-а потом у что (вторая камера то прижмивает саму покрышку под давлением 8атм ;)

Not a new concept. I did this over 40 years ago when I had a bike that used to keep getting punctures down a country lane. I used thick wall hose pipe. It was a firm ride but the puncture problem was resolved.
