Welcome to the Dash 8 fan club mate - LOL Some great routes in Qld that utilise the Dash 8-, recommend, Cairns- Horn Island, Brisbane- Longreach, Mit Isa- Townsville , amongst others. You have some real little Gems radiating out of Adelaide, like Port Lincoln, Wyhalla , Kangaroo Island and Mt Gambier and they all use the 300 series usually down there. I flew to Whyalla in early June in the 90-110kmh wind gusts, we took of from the cross runway at Adelaide , which made it worthwhile. My No 1 is the Sydney- Lord Howe Island route which uses a 200 series (The Islands runway is only 888 metres long) Keep up the good work Luke.

Hey mate! It’s an honor to be welcomed into the dash 8 club haha! Definitely keen on the Brisbane - Longreach route as I’ve been meaning to get up there for some time now and check out the Qantas museum. As you said, Adelaide - Mount Gambier is another great option here in SA. Lorde Howe island would be the top of my list as that’s also the best value using Qantas points. Thanks Fred!

That's a very new dash 8. And its got window shades! The ones that I've been on don't. I can watch the landing gear go up and down all day long 😅 , I notice even the landing gear assembly is different from the older models. Great to see you criss-crossing the country again. Thanks for the memories of Cairns!

Yeah same here 😆can’t wait to fly on one again soon! Just need to think about where to? 🤔 Thanks mate! Feels good flying and making trip reports again! I had 3 hours in Cairns that day, can’t wait to get back up there for a longer holiday in February.

Nice trip report. Love how noisy these aircraft are. I'll be flying my second one next month.

On QantasLink Q400, I personally prefer Rows 6 and 7, as they provide a good view of both propeller and undercarriage.

Yep, fair call… I watched other trip reports and checked out seat guru… and went with an angle so I wouldn’t be looking back… but who knows might have to try 6 or 7 as you say in the future. Thanks for watching the video.
