      Tim of irrational thought: You secularists murdered 15 million people in the 30s (including six million Jews) and 100-200 million people in Communist countries - and you dare attack religion? Fix your own house first, you sick bigot.

      mzk1 Hitler was a Christian. Also I wouldn't call replacing the church with a god like government is very secular or the motive of really any atheists today. Communist and socialist atheism are a wolf in sheeps clothing. But that conclusion requires thinking about it.

    I've taken several statistics classes and the second I heard the headline "Same-sex marriage legislation reduced suicide rate among teens studies show" I literally wanted to yell at my computer "That isn't how statistics works!!" Ben did a great job on explaining why and I'm glad we have someone that can looks at the information and studies objectively and doesn't just jump to conclusions based on headlines. Keep up the good work Ben!

    I am gay. I've never been suicidal. I oppose same sex marriage because it tells society gender does not matter. Gender matters.

    • @Googleaccount-wu4cj
      @Googleaccount-wu4cj 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Shouldn't gay people have the right to get married as well? Gender matters but that doesn't mean gays should be outcast and not be allowed to get married. Treating gay people differently will only cause more depression for them and it's not right.

    • @stevied3400
      @stevied3400 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      SNAPTHEBEAST Gays can get married. A gay man can marry a woman. Kinda like how a straight man can marry a woman. You don't get extra rights bc you have a grievance.

    • @howudoin62
      @howudoin62 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What does that even mean when you say "gender matters"? In what way does it matter and how is it related to same sex marriage?

    • @kupotenshi

      if marriage didn't come with benefits it wouldn't matter but that's not the case is it

    • @Googleaccount-wu4cj
      @Googleaccount-wu4cj 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Gay marriage should have always been a right. Bigotry was the only reason that was left out of their rights, it was a different time period and now we should adapt and gays should 100 percent be allowed to get married. A persons religious beliefs should not be used to discriminate against gays. This country doesn't run on religion. As to gay's marrying wives they don't love, stop playing stupid, how would you like it if the roles were reversed.

      There should be some legal form of union identical to marriage for same sex couples, but marriage by definition is a bond between a man and a woman. The left wanted it called marriage as a slap in the face to Christians.

    On the subject of Obama care, I think it's shitty to argue for Obama care when it's clearly not affordable for everyone. And on top of that, if you can't afford it you, you end up paying anyway during tax time. So regardless the government get theirs. I'm strongly against Obamacare for this reason. I shouldn't be punished for not having health insurance.

    • @jims512
      @jims512 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Erica. Bingo. If you are young, healthy, and single or have no dependents then healthcare is probably a bad idea for you. I'm in my 30's and healthy but have a wife and a bunch of little kids so I choose to have it. The Obama plan is to have you pay into it without you needing to draw much out of it. Aside from the practicality standpoint, it's immoral and I would still argue, illegal, to force you to buy a product - especially one that'll primarily benefit someone else.

    • @TheJpgr1958
      @TheJpgr1958 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello. Couldn't agree with you more on your comment. The government was never set up to do what it's doing, especially forcing people at gunpoint, via taxes and fines, to carry health insurance. I too don't have health insurance, and I'm going to have to pay roughly over $600.00 in fines on top of the taxes that I will owe. Unbelievable.
      I did read and hear, though not sure if it's true or not, that when a person files their taxes for 2016, they don't have to check the box on their tax form which asks if one has health insurance or not, thereby not having to pay the fine. As I stated, this may or not be true, I hope it is, but I'll know for sure when I file my taxes.
      Also I do believe that if our founding fathers came back from the dead, went to Washington and saw what the government has become, this out of control monstrosity, they would run, not walk, back to their coffins, yelling "Get me out of here!!!"

    • @epayne
      @epayne 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheJpgr1958 I've heard that the fine only increase. I feel like avoiding the fine would be illegal.

    • @TheJpgr1958
      @TheJpgr1958 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello again. From my understanding, yes the fine will increase every year. But as I stated, I read and heard that one does not have to pay the fine for 2016. But I will know for sure if I have to pay the fine when I do my taxes. And if I do have to pay the fine, I'll bite the bullet and pay it.
      Hopefully this time next year, all of Obamacare will have been done away with, as well as any sort of silly fine.

    I remember during the town hall for my Rep over deathcare. The hall was packed and they weren't letting more people in, but then, the SEIU (I could tell from the purple T shirts with SEIU on them) was allowed to usher in a little girl from a side door to tell us all about her father's health care crisis - ostensibly as one of the "random" audience questions. It made me angry because it was such an obvious set up. This was for a Rep who ran as a republican.

      if you remove ideology and religion , the only absolute truism is everything dies some things die slower other things die faster. Liberals make the mistake of wanting to pretend cause and effect doesn't exist, and conservatives want to pretend that their morality comes from this naturally ordained sense of truth stemmed from hard logic the reality is it's not, it comes from emotion and a sense of satisfaction or outage.

      But it does mean when it comes to the issues you're having a tough time going through, that you may have more of an informed opinion than someone who has never personally been through it. Is she bragging that she is paying $29 and not getting a few hundred thousand dollars worth of care for free? What about those of us that have actually paid more than our share for people that will never pay it back at the expense of our own "dying" relatives? Why are you afforded moral superiority for not paying your own share? Why pay anything? I guess that $29 qualifies you as not being a total bum.

    The things you have a vested interest in conserving (rites, customs, language, blood) don't translate to shared politics. Conservationism is something you do, not something you are, so maybe you should call yourself a Republican or a Monarchist rather than a conservative.

    How about we meet in the middle and install a Pontus Pilate clause? Gay couple wants to marry, Kim Davis doesn't want to have any part in it despite her office having a job of processing marriage licenses. Kim invokes the Pontus Pilate clause and the duty is passed on to someone else. Memories pizza doesn't want to cater a gay wedding for religious reasons? Then the clause protects them from discrimination lawsuits and increases the punishment of obvious retaliatory vandalism. They get to get married, and we don't have to get involved in something we disagree with on a religious level. Problem solved, Henry Clay style.

    Did you tell your husband that you get cheap healthcare because of the fact that my father (small business owner) had a 154%tax increase to keep his business afloat. I'm glad you pay $27. we now pay over $800 a month more for your insurance. I think he deserves a youre welcome.

    I have zero empathy for that woman. In fact, I have disdain for that woman. The reason is, assuming she's not a stupid person, she must know that she got lucky with her husband's medical costs on the back on the government picking someone else's pocket.

    20:34 isn't too clear to me. Could you elaborate? I'm not seeing how Sanders prohibits anyone from getting health-care who can afford health-care.
    This doesn't make much sense. If he says everyone should have (is obliged to) have health-care insurance, even the poor, it does not logically follow that he forbids others who are rich enough to afford health-care, to get health-care.
    Granted, I'm not all that familiar with Sanders' view on these particular things, but I do doubt he said it isn't allowed to get health-care for those who can afford it. Which is the only way your rebuttal here would make sense: that he actually FORBIDS people that can afford it, to have health-care. As long as he only says 'everyone is obliged to have health-care', then it's a non-sequitur to say people who can afford it can't get it, because of Sanders.
    Seeing you're a high proponent of logic - and usually you do make a lot of sense, indeed - I feel this was a bit of a weak rebuttal in this regard.

    I agree that correlation is not causation. But it's also very logical that legalization of gay marriage can be a factor in making gay people feel more accepted, which should obviously be a factor in lowering suicide rates. Maybe the study doesn't exactly show it, but it does make sense.

    Short answer: tragedy sucks, but you don't deserve to be treated like a king/queen just because of it. It happens to everyone, but you don't get a gold star. If you're of the right mindset, you come out the other side stronger than when you went in. If not...well, just see any "liberals/leftists lose it after Trump's elected" compilation; you'll get the picture.

    • @risingofthethorn1197
      @risingofthethorn1197 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah but I wouldn't say you deserve special treatment just because you don't experience it either. Nature at times is far crueler and more evil than any government regime. Just ask those born with Cystic Fibrosis or any kind of disease that completely ravages a person's face or leaves them a two year old in a fully grown man's body.
      Everyone likes to scream "survival of the fittest." and "Why should I care?" until they are the receiving end of it. then scream, "foul foul, where is fairness where is justice?" You reap what you sow. What good does it to come out the other side if nothing comes of it? anybody can virtue signal just look at the liberals.

  • @MST3Killa
    @MST3Killa 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    ah, come on Ben. Spicer was treading the same line you were. acknowledging that there were probably some people who are legitimately upset while others are "professional protesters." The term professional protester doesn't mean they're paid to be there, simply that their outrage (as seen in those town halls) is not genuine. Protesting is what they live for, that's their passion... not actually doing anything, but being seen and making a scene. To that point, I think Spicer is right. There's a mix of people who are there to voice their real grievances and others who are there to simply make a scene. Thing is, if I had 50 people shouting at me, chanting protests, not allowing me to even answer the questions posed.... well, I have to also remember that I was elected by the majority and in some of those cases, by a stark majority. That's not to say you ignore grievances, that shouldn't be the goal or premise any representative takes, but 50 or 100 people acting like counter productive activists when compared to the thousands more who did vote for them.... it's not balanced. it's an ineffectual shouting match to rile people into a frenzy.
    What's most startling is what happens next. If this frenzy of mob mentalities continues and is successful, what comes after Trump will end up being a giant leap towards the far left. The pendulum is starting to swing wider and wider and until centrists and moderates can reign in the lunacy, the rhetoric, and the galvanized division, well we're all going to be in for a rude awakening.

    All this talk about healthcare. Why do these people act like healthcare is a right? Whatever happened to survival of the fittest and being able to afford what you need? You can't just demand the taxpayers to pay for your medical expenses cause you are dying or sick and can't afford it. If I can't afford the doctors, I don't go. Simple as that.
    I was in a motorcycle accident in august of 2016 and I didn't demand anyone pay for it. Had I not been able to afford it, I would have told them to send me home to recover. Collapsed lungs, broken ribs and foot in all. We need to stop acting like everyone should get hand outs and everyone else pay for it.
