A film exploring everything about a black gay man?
Sounds like Milo Yiannopoulos's type of flick.

Hacksaw Ridge made $67 million in the US and $108 million overseas. That is pretty successful for a movie on a $40 million budget from Australia.

explain all the critics who loved Moonlight then? and I'm surprised that you didn't like Moonlight, considering it's great for men socially, showing how men can be sensitive and conflicted. it's a beautiful story, if you didn't like it, then that's an opinion, but you can't just say that all critics that loved it only said it to be politically correct. That's a HUGE sweeping generalisation.
on another note, I hate how political the oscars are. As a film fan, I find them repulsive. they're supposed to be about great films, yet normally it's just a bunch of rich people in a room talking about politics for some reason. smh.
EDIT: also, Moonlight was a low budget, independent film from a second time director. they did not make it on the basis that it would win oscars. They would not have thought it would even be nominated for Oscars. ffs, it was made for like 500,000 dollars. so it was hardly "Hollywood" trying to be "politically correct" nah it's just a great film.

I used to mark the seasons by all the awards shows. I also love the arts. I love (good) movies, TV shows, music and books. But I can no longer stomach these obnoxious celebrities! The fact that they are so tone deaf that they have no problem openly insulting some of their own fans is astonishing to me. It makes me sick.

Moonlight definitely deserved the win. It presented a good picture of how our culture and social interactions can shape our identity. Telling that story from the perspective of a black and gay teenager emphasizes the impact culture has on the individual. There are definitely movies that I preferred over Moonlight, but I think Moonlight definitely deserved the win because it was a good movie that shined a light on a very powerful story.

Star Wars Rogue One was awesome!!! The final scene with Vader slaying Rebel scum was worth the price of admission and all future admissions. Seriously check it out!!!
