These two do occasionally race as well but lately the races they do are focused more on catching certain pokemon instead of beating the game like this. These days when they play these modes it’s usually co-op, I really enjoy it too
The fact that this is a collaborative puzzle solving speedrun is super interesting. It's basically a microcosm of what a speedrunning community is, if you think about it. Because yeah, you have people who compete, but at the same time, everybody benefits from discoveries and new strats which are freely shared between the competitors. Because in the end, you race the game, not other people and I think that's beautiful.
That would be cool but I wonder who the challengers would be. Chris and shen do these co-ops very often but I haven’t seen others do co-op speedruns at this high a level
I watched this as background noise while I shiny hunted the Odd Egg. It took around 15 minutes to hatch one and when I did I nearly reset it because shiny Elekid looks virtually identical. Anyway I got my shiny and her name is Lemonade
Called them the legendary dogs as a kid (I feel like I read that somewhere), which was confusing because Entei is a lion, Raikou is a tiger, and Suicune is spotted like a leopard. Still, I called them dogs, even though I thought they corresponded to cats, and chalked it up to a dub thing. I grew up with subbed anime and was used to things like dub gender changes and queer identity erasure, so this seemed to make sense.
the designer themself has said they were based on cats, but ambiguously, like most pokemon designs. ive always considered them cats (the same ones they were based on before i knew, incidentally, which are tiger, lion and leopard). insanely entertaining run as always, i love when shen and chris do races

the guy that designed them (Saitō Muneo) is on record referring to them as "tiger-like" (raikou), "lion-like" (entei), and "leopard-like" (suicune); what makes dykgaming think they're not?
@@LiliGasanj It doesn't seem like Saito designed Entei with a lion in mind explicitly, and mentions it could go either way in dog/cats; but he did compare it to a lion, and it would make sense with Raikou and Suicune both in mind.

I love the endless creativity of speedrunning; the idea of co-oping a Pokemon randomizer never even occurred to me, but it works so well!
Absolutely loved that this was a co-op run! Their synergy is so fun, and their communication through the whole game is so great.
