It's been so inspiring to film these and share my art (and my surroundings!) here, and get all these interesting conversations going. :) Multiple styles can feel like a mess, but in the end, I think it might be a bit like growing up bi- or trilingual - at some point, the mix of languages snaps into place. Just gotta find what we're the most passionate about and focus on that, without completely tossing out everything else. ❤

Ah, the Beren & Luthien piece! I love the way the light and shadows look, so luminescent! The tiny ink doodles too - I love the cuter style. I think my favourite dractober piece for this video is probably Dracula's eye through the porthole - it really does start setting the mood for how the story will go. I too would love to see a video on the houses illustrations! It's such a lovely theme for an art show and I'd love to see how you conceptualize and bring that to life. (Also that sunset - wow! So pretty!)
Thank you! The Beren & Luthien painting is consuming every bit of my brain that isn't being consumed by vampires atm ;) It was interesting to paint that porthole eye illustration and feeling like I finally hit my stride for these. That's the beautiful thing about working on a series, there's time to evolve naturally. The more painterly approach felt very satisfying! And yes, I'll definitely film that process, especially since I hope to head out and do some outdoor urban sketching as a prep. 💙

The ones with the floating little houses are so pretty and dreamy that I could not have stopped thinking about them~ I am so glad I found your channel and that you started one in the first place! Your work is very inspiring and makes me feel at peace while watching Thank you so much!
I haven't done a lot lately because I just recovered from an illness, but it's great to see your vlog and your progress! Can't wait to see the finished Beren & Luthien painting. Hey Evy, loving the latest video! One thing that struck me was the consistency of the art style - it's actually something I struggle with in my own creative journey. My art style changes with every piece, and even my handwriting is different from one page to the next (sometimes I confuse myself!). I'm curious, Do you have any tips for developing a signature style? Although I won't mind if I never be able to. Keep up the amazing work!
This made me snort out loud - thank you so much for saying my style is consistent! That's my biggest insecurity and struggle! So interesting how what we perceive as our biggest weakness might look completely fine to others. Worst critic etc etc. 🙂 I think what's helping me with it lately: I did a lot of realistic studies (portraits, figures...) and that gave me more skills to then branch out from, instead of feeling trapped by always making the same mistakes. Oh, and working on a series of art - be it Dracula or other themed art - helps make everything feel and look more cohesive as I dive in more deeply. :) I hope that helps and I might include it for the Q&A if I think of anything else
