PART 3 of Reply 2: All of that said. If you are using an Elinchrom with a built in Skyport receiver, it is designed to receive a 2.4g radio signal. A transmitter could be made but there is no Sekonic meter which has a antenna designed to transmit a 2.4g signal.

PART 2 of Reply 2: Meters made for use in the USA have an antenna that is tuned for transmitting frequencies between 344Mhz and 354Mhz. Meters made for use in Europe and other areas that use CE specifications have antennas tuned for 433Mhz. The signal sent from a CE version cannot trigger a PocketWizard designed to receive an FCC specified 344-354Mhz signal. The reverse is also true.

@LeoInterHyenaem PART 2 of Reply.... F/5.6 1 indicates only one-tenth brighter than f/5.6 so no exposure adjustment is needed. If the display indicated is f/5.6 8, the brightness requires a setting of almost f/8. CONTINUED....

@LeoInterHyenaem PART 3 of Reply.... If the aperture was selected first to find a shutter speed, the 0.10 stop would still have to appear next to the aperture number to indicate how much the indicated shutter speed-aperture combination would have to be adjusted (or the light brightness adjusted) to achieve the proper exposure. To avoid this confusion, the engineers decided not to include Aperture-Priority display for flash functions.

PART 4 of Reply 2: If you happen to be using an Elinchrom RX flash, check out the PocketWizard ST4 receiver which plugs into a port in the back of these Elinchrom units and does receive either the 344-354Mhz signal or 433Mhz (CE available outside the USA). Or use a standard PocketWizard Plus II as a receiver plugged into the sync port of the flash.

what happened to the advanced metering techniques? Surely would like to see a good video on the Cinema mode... what about incident luminence (LUX or FC) and such the like?

@LeoInterHyenaem Simply. There is no Aperture-Priority display mode for flash measurement. Shutter speeds can be selected easily for flash measurement modes with the aperture needed for good exposure displayed in full stops with 0.1 stops (or 1Ž2 or 1/3 stops). The 0.1 stop number indicates how close the light brightness is to the next higher F-number. CONTINUED....

A belated Thank you for your replies. Just happened upon them now, 6 years later. :)

PART 1 of Reply 2: I have to back into this answer by explaining the difference between the USA FCC version of Sekonic meters and the European CE versions. Today, both meters use a common transmitter: the RT32N. The key difference in the meters is the transmitting antenna which is housed in the meter which is designed for each market.

How can you find the firmware version on the Sekonic L-758 DR?

You can download the DTS (Data Transfer Software) through out website and it will update the firmware on your 758 if needed.

why does my sekonik L- 758DR can only be set the iso2 to 50 or less it does not want to go higher than that.

You have ISO 2 set for filter compensation. For ISO settings, set Custom Function #1 back to Item 0.

This meter is the greatest, especially with the 1-degree spot meter and the DTS Software that allows you to calibrate your camera's exact dynamic range. There is nothing else like it anywhere.

    Hello.
Could you explain why, after a month-long break in use of my L-758Cine (with a wireless module installed) I can no longer shift from Shutter to Aperture priority sub-mode in any of the modes, except for the ambient one? In Ambient mode it works, but not in any of the Flash modes (as an Elinchrom user, I am bound to use the Auto-Reset mode with my strobes). Yes, the settings are unlocked.
    Thank you.

It's not clear if the difference in the L-758D and the L-758DR is only in the radio trigger availability or is there other differences?
Because in the sekonic website itself, the explanation is not correct. Apparently in their website the feature for the D version is just a copy-paste from the DR version, which means in their website it is said that the D version has a "BUILT IN" pocketwizard radio transmitter. If the official sekonic website is already missleadin then where can we get info??

Thank you very much for your reply. Then, I needn't worry, as my unit is in perfect working order (still a pity there's no Aperture priority setting under the Flash modes, especially provided how little Shutter speeds influence the exposure (except when set too faster than the sync speed or considerably slower than the flash duration).
Another question: can we expect to see wireless modules (similar to RT-32) for direct remote compatibility with Elinchrom units in the (near) future?

Just bought one of these. My current spot meter is nice, but I like the extra features with this one, especially the greater ease for measuring changing light levels during an exposure (i.e. sunset and sunrise). Great videos!
