Curious if we are going to see more videos coming up? I stopped in the shop 2 weeks ago and stumbled across your channel last night and binged all the videos. Maybe a video on a setup you would run mid summer for kings. Line spread, number of spoons vs flashers, how you locate fish via maps and water temps. Thanks for all the tips learning a lot

You should make a video about the fishery stocking numbers, naturally reproduced fish, different ports, what the DNR should change etc. Interested in you're opinions being you fished so many places around the lake and Ontario as well.

A wayward Oregon Salmon fisherman here thought I would check out how you guys do it in the lakes. Same fish we have but different thought processes and ... odd rigging compared to how we have to fish. I would love to run multiple rods however we are limited to one rod with an occasional last minute rule change that allows two... some years. Just how big is a large chinook in the lakes? One notable difference between the Oregon fishery and there. We run about 100 to 150 yards of braid and mono backing. If a fish gets anywhere near 100 yards from the boat it's a gonner, seal or sea lion will grab it if fishing inshore. You have to keep them close so you can chase the fur bags down.

Weighted steel and braid line, could you go a little more into that? How much braid as backing, which reel and how far down with how much steel line out, and lastly how to join them together with white knot. Thanks.

How do you feel about chain swivels? I have been running some this year alongside regular swivels and they don’t seem to put the fish off. Ive hooked up on browns, cohos, steelhead and kings this year and haven’t seen a downside.

I feel like mono backing has its place. What about braids tendency to slide through planer clips. Stretch isn't always a bad thing. Do you not recommend snubbers then? Maybe a topic you could address in future. I'd love to know your opinion. Overall great info in the video. You just summed up in 15 minutes truths it took me hours of reading to learn!

Mono does have its place, but braid puts more line on your reel per reel capacity for any given line rating. I have FL line at the end of the leadcore and just wrap the line around the board clips and haven't had any problem with line slip. I let out 10 ft of line beyond the lead core. Some people put mono then braid so they clip onto mono but I don't see the value in having 2 more knots and braid line lasts a long time. Remember to wet the line when you pack your reel or let it out out then reel back onto the reel before using. I have Musky reels with line that is 7 yrs old that I don't hesitate to use for the limited use I use these / season. I wouldn't trust Mono that long on limited use reels. Pay more up front but lower cost / year long term running Braid. I run Mono and FL for terminal end and it gets replaced more often. I'm going to use some Mono for Slide divers for high line bites early season and on Dipsy rods. I also run Mono on my walleye gear which doubles as my Brown Trout gear as well using 17 lb test that has the same OD as 10 XT for dive curve data being the same.

Hey Russell, I am going to purchase 2 convector 30d's for braid dipseys. I am also thinking of getting a spool of leadcore to break into a 3 color and a 7 color. Would the okuma gold handle clx work for this? I saw it on your site for 37.00 and thought it could work well for this.
