Hi Jacob, Here in the U.K I had a Massey 1505 with the same 180hp Cat V8 it was one of only about 30 sold in 🇬🇧. Interestingly you had to keep RPM up at about 2850 to get that power, and it lacked low end torque. Apparently it was intended as a Marine diesel, hence not a lot of low end torque!! Only made this discovery after getting a trip on a Lifeboat that had two of them as it’s power source, great video as ever Jacob keep up the good work. All the best from a U.K. Fan 👍😊🇬🇧
In the 70’s you could get them in IH, Dodge and Ford trucks. Yes dodge made a medium size truck. We had 2. The 3208 was the cheap motor and after 100,000 kms we found out why. No liners on the cylinders! They were immediately nicknamed the Through away Motor!
@@JD710-d9v Hi I think the 1805 was the turbo version, ours had a retro fitted handbrake that worked of the prop shaft and put it out of balance when travelling on the road , believe it was added to comply with European regs to have a second brake as the US version just had a clip to hold the brake pedal down.
@@davidwatt7663 the only 1805 that I have seen and known here in France, had a very particular factory assembly for the engine ..... since CAT offered an option on this model, a 3208 engine with two turbo ..... this tractor was very very powerful, but the engine did not last long
Hope we get to see a set of duals come on the TW soon. I also would love to know with a small turbo how much it would help the white. The 3208 isn’t that bad just needs that little bit more grunt.
We have 2 old 4840 and 4880 Massey articulated tractors at our farm still. Even the 4880 Is only rated for 320 horsepower, less then our Deere 8320r at 360. But those old workhorses just have raw power. Those old horses are characters for sure but from what I’ve seen they just pull like animals for the power they claim to have compared to these new engines. Our 8320r is a first gen even to its a 2009 same tractor as a Deere 8030 series just a newer cab so it doesn’t even have emissions thank god, that thing is a bloody animal already compared to the newer ones but still so different from the old iron horses
That 4-150 you can Make smoke real easy tho to btw. And those old cats are severely detuned from factory in those girls. Turning them up does wonders for them. Way More low end power as well as top end. And better fuel consumption for sure as long as you drive it the same type thing. If you wanted it to and held it full out none stop then ya it would be worse clearly
is white a fuel pressure gauge? I encountered the problem cat 3304 that the engine runs nicely but is inefficient. the cause was revealed to be the injection pump's adjustment shaft seal. as a quick fix I just installed an electric transfer pump. strength came back. I wonder if white could suffer from the same problem.
Those discs back then didn't cut very deep even on softer soil types. 230 JD discs weren't any better. That was the reason we used a Miller offset disc back in the 70s-80s those things would cut bigtime. A 22ft one was about all a 2670 Case with 18.4 duals could handle.
May I ask a question what did you ever do with the 2-135 White you bought with the other White. I haven't seen it anywhere on the farm I thought it was good without the cab
3208s were basically a throw away engine and meant for many different applications. That was one of the biggest issues with oliver/white not having a inhouse engine and white had proposed 2 of their own Inhouse V8s in the 700-900 cubic inch range for trucks . Which i bet they would have made it into the 4 wheelers instead of the 3208
Fluid sucks. Cast is better. You can add and subtract weight as needed to get the right balance. I just added suitcase weights to my 876 Ford to tie it to the ground. Better and cheaper than fluid.
Nah, an occasional puff of smoke under load is a good sign it's working, but a solid trail of rolling coal is a sign you're flogging the guts out of it and should back off.
Your father’s opinion is most appreciated. Thanks For the video Jacob

hi David, 30 MF1505 in UK ? that's a lot..... lol , here in France just 13 MF from 1500 to 1805

@@Military-Museum-LP I call bs ,we had one in a White tractor and it had over 5000 hours on it ,they were totally rebuildable.
I think with the bigger tires it gears it up a lot faster than what the chart says
Should use a speedometer app to see
AND robs power because a bigger tire is harder to turn...

That’s a great setup
Haha I need you to come out and try the stiger out for one day 😊
Great video. Thank you
You’d be better off with a 4840 than all those oddballs put together. I still love your content though.
Jacob, maybe some extra weight on the front of the TW too.

What size tires are on it now compared to what is standard size on the 4-150?
That 4-150 you can

We need 2+2 content please
It would come in last
I’ve been a IH guy but them tractors are junk it would take a 100 acre farm just to turn them thangs and the pivot don’t take to highly on the ditches
@@Onealfarm9967they turn better than most front wheel assist tractors.

Where is the 2+2??
Good video.
My suggestion is to get rid of the 4-150 and the 2+2, and find a TW-35

Do you still have the 2x2
I think they do
I have a preference for Blue.
good stuff
Clean up the inside of the cab and paint it up and id love it.
I am looking for parts for TW15 front axle planetary, gears . Have any salvage tractor yards around you.
Not really. I got lucky to find one on the other side of the state.
does it have v 8 cat what 1976 white
Weigh for 2 plus2 and 135 to start
It's sad to see all you young farmers don't believe in fluid in the tired , can pull double as much ,
Fluid is not the right solution for radial tires because it impairs the ability for the tire to flex. Only use cast weights with radial tires
Fluid sucks. Cast is better. You can add and subtract weight as needed to get the right balance. I just added suitcase weights to my 876 Ford to tie it to the ground. Better and cheaper than fluid.
Let me get my allen wrenches out and I bet you that I can make that 150 smoke lol. Got any spare heads? lol
👍👌❤🇨🇦
Not nearly as disorienting to drive that vs. a 2+2 for someone who's only ever driven "straight" tractors. The hood stays straight in front of you.
Do you think hairres cuomunits polices will hurt your farm
Sounds like your afraid to we work any tractor hard, it's good for them sometimes to blow hard black smoke ,
