Great video of inside of the L-100. Remembered a very unfortunate accident by one of these aircraft flying under "Southern Air" in 1984 at old Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas. Just loaded up the aircraft at night which also included a large munition load, witnessed it taxi off to the end of the runway to pause for permission to takeoff. Aircraft started its roll normally down runway when it nosed up and inexplicably started to bank to its left. Had very little lift, and I knew it was in big trouble. The trajectory took it toward one of the aircraft hangers where it crashed in an explosive ball of flames! I remember there was a crew of three, and I had the signature of the pilot on the flight cargo manifest in my hands. Such a terrible shock to witness the loss of lives who were living just a half hour before. Was told later by those who were working with the accident investigative team, that the "steering pin" was not removed by the ground crew from the nose gear. By this act, the hydraulics were cut-off from gaining control of the aircraft. Just awful.

I was working on C-130s for the US Air Force 50 years ago. Same prop, same engines. Beautiful aircraft.
