Good stuff! I'm not Catholic, but I am a Christian and biblical creationist, as well as lover of history, and this is spot on. The attacks on Christmas have two main sources: one being pagans, and the other being Protestants, beginning around the time of the reformation, when many went overboard and rather than simply rejecting some of the wrong teachings of the Catholic Church at the time (most of which have since been abandoned) they rejected ANYTHING to do with Catholicism, which included Christmas. And it was actually Martin Luther who defended Christmas, and fought to keep it as something that all followers of Christ should celebrate. There may be doctrinal differences, and even the apostle Paul said "here we ALL only know in part", so no matter how knowledgeable we are, there is stuff we don't know. @stabord- It is actually two Pagan Roman Feasts, not one. "Saturnalia" was originally held from December 17 to December 23. In 274 AD, Emperor Aurelian instituted "Sol Invictus," on December 25 (date of the Winter Solstice on the Roman calendar), which was added onto the already existing pagan festivities, and was welcomed as a sort of continuation to Saturnalia. Many of these pagan festivals would lose popularity, or die out over time, only to be revived, for one reason or another, by Roman Emperors, like Aurelian, or Julian The Apostate. Sometimes, this was done, to try and counter the ever growing influence of Christianity in the Roman Empire, which was not going away, despite bans & persecutions.
@@ChristianSaintSavior There are probably hundreds of pagan “holidays” around the world; I was pointing out that most people don’t even know what they’re critiquing because they probably are only thinking of one in specific. So how can Christians have ripped them all off?

The problem with the saturnalia claim is that one, it was already over prior to Christmas, so if Christmas really was an attempt to copy a pagan holiday and replace it with a Christian one as they claim, then they didn't do a very good job since they didn't schedule Christmas until after saturnalia was already finished. But the bigger issue is, if Christmas really was a copy of a pagan festival, then why was Emperor Aurelian apparently unaware of this? Because he created Sol Invictus as a substitute for Christmas. If Christmas was a substitute for a pre-existing pagan holiday, why didn't he just say so? He wouldn't have felt the need to create an entire new holiday. Which by the way, he is correct on stating that it was created 274 AD, But there was no evidence of it ever actually being celebrated until 352ad, at least150 years after The early church had already been celebrating Christmas.

Thanks for making it light on this complex and perplexing video - monologue. Since God created the Earth and established all the pivotal points of the seasons, why is it so hard for some people to understand that God would choose the most meaningful time for JESUS to be born? Pagans were not stupid; they noticed the repetition of the difference in the length of daylight and knew the critical points when the day was the shortest, the longest and when it was at par with the night in March and September. Pagan’s celebrated the wisdom of God and God was probably very happy with their learning skills even though they knew nothing about the Son of God Jesus’ coming into the world. Is it wrong to think that God deliberately chose those specific times for John and Jesus to be born? In doing so, God showed to the nations of the world that HE is in control and HE owns all the important dates regarding the passage of time! I am just wondering, what kind of days pagans celebrated at the Equator where the days and nights are the same length all year round. "…..unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, you have no life in you." Why are you so unbelieving like those jews and others followers saying "how can he give his flesh to eat"? Does this scandalise you? John 6: 48-58 48 I am the bread of life. 49Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat of it and not die. 51I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh.” 52At this, the Jews began to argue among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” 53So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For My flesh is real food, and My blood is real drink. 56Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him. 57Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your fathers, who ate the manna and died, the one who eats this bread will live forever.”
If I may also ask, how much did St. Stephen err. in acts when he calls upon his Jewish kin to testimony Jesus Christ calling them ''Brothers and Fathers,'' and again when St. Paul calls Timothy a son of his own, and again, when St. Paul tells of the Corinthians that he has begotten them as a father in Christ Jesus, and once more, when St. Peter in his epistle calls Mark (his scribe) his own Son. How much further can we bring this, to not even call our own biological dads 'Father' or 'Papa'? I hope that you do not even hold to this extreme. If we are to give honor to the office of kings, principalities, and powers as we are commanded (Rom. 13:7 & 1 Pet. 2:17) in recognizing legitimate authority, then how much must we be insulting God if we say simply to those above us in society ''King, lord, my leader, and who I am subjected to'' instead if we address the lowliest when we call to our own fathers or those superiors ''Hey, Dad.'' It sounds so... backwards by this standard. I urge you to read this script with commentary from the Christian forefathers in faith and not come into your own interpretation or mere assent to someone's else point of view. This is just not the case in the way you've read it. Take in the whole picture and not bits. It otherwise makes the scriptures hard to read, easy to stumble, and hard to be retrieved from great error.
what do you call Father's Day then? Again, ripping verses out of context fails. The next line is call no man teacher (latin is doctor) I bet you call Doctors "Doctor". Didn't St Paul call Abraham "FATHER' 7 times in his epistle? Yep? I guess, according to you, Paul is burning. Our Lord "honor thy FATHER and mother" oh wait did He not get your memo?
We just going to ignore Jeremiah 10:1-4? It's not weird and it's not bs and it's not wrong. It is the result of cultures mixing. This is why I'm not religious. Many things were celebrated and sacred long before this priest claims. You have to respect where symbolism comes from but why would that mean you can't appreciate it anyway.
This is why I am religious. Because sectarians can't wait to take a verse and inject whatever meaning they want into it. (Forbidden btw, by 2 Peter 3:16) How does what the priest said ignore the verses you cited?
You know Christmas is Pagan, especially when the Roman Catholic Church says it's not. Christmas as a holiday did not exist until centuries after Jesus was born. Moreover, people did not celebrate birthdays in the first century, so Jesus certainly did not celebrate Christmas. The New Testament, however, does describe Him participating in one winter holiday known as Hanukkah today. Jesus was not born on the 25th of December, nor was he born in a stable and lay in a manger. Truth be told. May the Lord bless all to have a safe and healthy New Year-2024.
Christ is born, alleluia! Sacred heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you!

53So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, you have no life in you.
Christ is born! Hallelujah!
The truth was just presented here in the video, but you still refuse to believe, may God have mercy on your soul.
Defeat the facts cited. Your bias against the Church isn't enough to withstand actual truth. (Tell that!)
So sad that you must attack the Church that Jesus founded on Christmas his birthday. May God have Mercy on you.
P.S. This homily was done in an Eastern Catholic Rite not the Roman Rite.
