    “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” were Catholic because we are sick and need a Dr.

    El Greco's paintings of Christ are extraordinary. I find them more approachable and personal than much Italian renaissance work, and I'm Venetian! Thanks for posting.

      El Greco was on drugs and his paintings are objectively seen as horrendous because of their inferior quality in comparison to Italian works of art.

    To understand Predestination from a Catholic perspective one must read Fr Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange’s book entitled Predestination available from TAN books. I am uncertain if this sermon accurately reflects the contents of this excellent work.

    I dont understand how predestined and freewill can come together and both be true. Can someone explain please.

    • @MuttonBiryani1994
      @MuttonBiryani1994 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Predestination is not predeterminism. Predestination just means that God has infallibly chosen some for salvation and will give the neccessary graces for the chosen ones to follow God with their free will and die in a state of grace.
      Free will just means we can choose among options, our choices are not predetermined/forced. Both free will and predestination are true.
      However free will has never been strong enough to initiate the process of salvation so why God doesnt call everybody and lifts them up from the blindness of original sin, is due to His choice of Will alone, since no one is owed grace. That’s why people who are born into christianity have a huge gift, especially catholics that should not be squandered.

    • @esmysyield2023

      @@MuttonBiryani1994 ok. But if God has already decided they are going to hell that doesnt give very much incentive to try to get to Him. I never really understood this part of things. The whole concept seems to be an oxymoron, or opposites together. I know I am probably missing something in there but my mind wont wrap around it. I am trying but I still dont get it. But thank you for taking the time to explain. I guess that part is above my pay grade lol.

    I always saw predestination as simply God’s foreknowledge of our choice that He gives us.
    He doesn’t damn anybody without giving them a choice ?

  • @KMF3

    I don't understand how anyone can be held accountable if they are predestined?

    • @MuttonBiryani1994
      @MuttonBiryani1994 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the ”contradiction”/hard saying that’s very hard for us emotional creatures to accept. But we must accept it since it is true.
      The reason is that eventhough it is true no one can initiate the process of salvation with their free will without grace, grace is not owed to anyone so the basis on which God sends people to hell are not that God didn’t chose them, but their real sin which he left them in . Why God chooses this or that person belongs to His Will alone, and should not be sought after unless you want to err.
