JustAnotherVideo / Gaming Vlogs Videos Man both these games are awesome. They also both make me cry in pain and rage, when my heroes die or I lose 2000 geo to a fly.
JustAnotherVideo / Gaming Vlogs Videos Ah, the Collector. In one game, some eldritch monstrosity you just need to get lucky with stuns to easily beat. In the other, the most evil creature ever. He captures grubs. He dies.
I love how all the endings reflect the course of action taken to get them. 1. Fufill the pale Kings will, disregarding anything else in the story. Become the vessel incapable of being influenced, and become the True Hollow knight. 2. Sealed Siblings- Learn about your origins and family, but go with the pale Kings plan anyway. Use Hornet as a means to make your goal easier, but betray her nonetheless. Prove once again you are unswayed by feelings of respect or love towards your sibling, and become the True Hollow Knight. 3. Dream No more: listen to Hornet, and know you aren't bound to your father who betrayed you and all your siblings. Join with them, and Take your own path, and Kill the radiance yourself, freeing all your siblings in the process. 4. Embrace the void- Embrace the True power within you, which surpasses all the Gods of your Kingdom, and show that even In their ideal versions of themselves, they are no match for you. Reunite the void into it's true form, and unleash it onto the Kingdom that had long since forgotten it. 4. Embrace the void, delicate flower- Show that through your travels, you have gained such respect for the world, you would take even the most delicate of flowers, protecting it so to give it to the godseeker, who isn't even an ally. As a consequence, you end up sparing the Kingdom from the wrath of the Radiance, and the Void.
It’s kinda poetic that the knight died in EVERY ending. (Except godmaster but those are just weird) In each timeline he has to sacrifice himself to save hallownest. There’s no avoiding it.
Duke Dandyblook no, in the first one there is no dreamer, so they r screwed, and in the second one there is a dreamer, but she is inside with the fucking vessel, so still fucked. That’s why they are bad endings.
In the very last ending it is assumed the knight is the figure that walks up to hornet now being freed from his duty of sealing the radiance being that it was destroyed by its ancient enemy the god of all gods, two pieces of evidence suggests this, 1- unlike endings 1-4
Unlike endings 1-3* te knight is not seen storing or sealing the radiance as it’s destroyed and 2. The mask of the knight isn’t found broken thus suggesting there was no self sacrifice, instead this figure walks up to hornet and on the left side the blade is eerily similar to the pure nail and the motion the knight does when they challenge
It's really just the same bad ending every Souls like game has, if you've seen one Souls like ending you've seen'm all, wish someone would do something different, as the endings are getting really boring.
Ending 5 is my favorite. The Radiance is gone, the Void isn’t a threat, and Hornet finally reunites with her brother, though she doesn’t recognize him at first
dude, I haven't even beat Mantis Lords (though I beat giant mosscharger, hornet first fight, and false knight) and I still don't know everything about hollow knight after these spoilers!
the hollow knight boss is so emotional. As the fight rages on, the sealed vessel begins to stagger in pain, even to the point that the body has no control or strength left.
@@supportyourself3861 That just makes even more sense, the two endings where you get Hornet and Hollow knight cutscene, the Hollow Knight is just lost, not trying to kill her
So in the new endings, Hallownest is cured of the infection like in the "old good ending" and this time the original Hollow Knight makes it out alive. However it looks like some freaky God of the Void has been unleashed into the world and considering how grim this game is, that can't be a good sign. Wonder what Hornet and the old Hollow Knight are gonna do about this.
@R-Fire flame That's not the case though. The Knight destroyed (or absorbed, as you wish) all the Gods and has actually ascended as the Shade Lord. This is also shown in Godseeker mode where godseekers do in fact refer to the Knight as the Shade Lord.
R-Fire flame The Knight is definitely not dead, but has either 1. Transformed into The Void Given Focus, otherwise known as The God of Gods after attuning all the gods in the Panthenon or 2. Has become part of the Void Given Focus
God, I hope the Hollow Knight shows up alive in Silksong. Not just because I feel like the poor bastard deserves some kind of redemption arc, given how shitty their life was (and the fact that they're obviously an impure vessel, meaning they most likely have emotions n shit buried somewhere in there), but also because as it stands rn they're probably the closest thing we got to an in-between with new voidgod Ghost and the heir of Hallownest (Hornet). They don't even really have to show up much or learn communication or anything, I just wanna see something with these half-siblings hanging around and not beating the shit outta each other as they deal with the new world
The hollow knight sadly dies in every ending, and with Silk Song being a sequel and in a different kingdom, it would make no sense for the hollow knight to make a return. What's confusing is the last two endings, though. At the first one you would assume that the thing attacking Hornet is the void monster, but it still appears after the delicate flower destroys it. That thing might make an appearance with the little backstory we have on it. Also the knight is a pure vessel.
@@theblob2937 i'm pretty sure that the 'void monster' is the hk. i might be wrong, but the nail and sort of hunched over sort of look reminds me more of the hk.
Hornet has to face her siblings because they either encase a zombie plague or are the embodiment of an ever consuming abyss. is there an actual happy ending to this game
Best ending to me is Dream No More. The Knight merged the whole Void, killed Radiance (with that delicious vengeance moment for THK) and Hornet lived. Yay I guess?
@@memesmojo5622 Everyone has to face this through too, my Friend. I just reached the Pantheon of the Knight, after I struggled to beat the Pantheon of the Sage for two Months. I suck at Hollow Knight, but I try until I've reached my Goals. I've come this far after all.
I finally understand the last scene of the “embrace the void ending” in this ending we force the radiance into the void causing the infection to die but we don’t access this particular radiance fight by dream nailing the hollow knight which means he’s still alive in the black egg when this ending happens the hollow knight was also an imperfect vessel which is why the infection needed to be transferred over so essentially this ending leaves the hollow knight uninfected and pissed off which is why he seems to be in a battle stance when he sees hornet
He probably thinks someone just got the infection out of him making all the time in the sealed egg useless and ruining his and his father's legacy. In other words he's pissed off.
Well not pissed off just tired. I mean imagine your dad tells you to hangout (literally) for a long time, time is void and your only company is your insides. All of a sudden, your inside vanish! You walk this LONG way (bless Crystal Heart) to see someone who (probably) don't know. It's just a defense mechanism. I'm pretty sure Hornet won't kill off her LAST family member who she guarded forever.
So basically the knight finds a back door into the radiance's domain and consumes it with the void thus eradicating it, the hollow knight still being alive sees hornet and assumes they are trying to release the infection, he's trying to do his job not knowing the radiance is dead
I really wish there was an ending that included Grimm. After all, it's interesting that he and Radiance are the only ones with their names taking up the screen, one being dreams and the other being nightmares, but funnily enough Grimm is good while Radiance is bad.
Did you see that Grimm is one of the few bosses aware of being inside the Godhome? He bows to the Godseekers before the battle and when dream nailed his dialog references being an honour to be summoned there. Dude knows his stuff.
I agree wholeheartedly. The implications of Grimms ritual are interesting and he seems to be a being on par with the radiance in many ways. His troupe is a hive mind attuned to him/the nightmare heart and its implied the ritual is how he maintains his strength/relevance. Hes ambiguous morally but the people in his troupe like divine arent very pure intentioned with the exception of the one guy who wants to break free.
"Radiance is bad" The Pale King was selfish. He tried to get rid of her, because he wanted the kingdom to worship only him. Of course she would be angry
@@silversnow-gamingchannel Definitely, take a look around for it, they've already shown some of the people you'll be running into for it, as there will be several new characters. Team Cherry's also shown off animations for Hornet as well.
The Hollow Knight ending is so sad... after dedicating its whole life to containing infection, The Hollow Knight becomes infected itself, tries to commit suicide during fight with its sibling, and finally gets ripped apart by infection leaving its body... And all of that because it loved its father...
Many will disagree, but i really hope that the canon ending is the third one, it's much more heroic and an amazing closure to our character lore, i think the sacrifice fits perfectly the game dark atmosphere and world... there's so many everyone lives happy endings out there imho lol
I have a feeling that the Canon ending is the 4th one. In the 4th one the Knight either transforms or becomes a part of The Void given Focus and is set free after presumably destroying the Godseeker, and the ending also includes Hornet getting ready to fight The Hollow Knight (most likely) which is probably gonna be a big part of Silksong. Plus I hope it’s the one that’s canon because I know it doesn’t fit the dark tone of the game but it’s the only one where the knight is presumably ever seen again or even gets freedom of his duty to destroy the infection.
I just hope that the Hollow knight was not killed by Hornet in Embrace the void ending and they may be mentioned in Silksong. Seriously, poor guy got only one arm and suffered from infection for a lot of time, just give them hugs please, they deserved it.
I travelled to the edge of the world to enter someone's mind then fight a goddess. Hornet can get her own story later, but me? I GET TO LITERALLY BITCHSLAP A MOTH!
@@xxdpgxx8121 but if the infection gets out of hand you can't deal with it because the only dreamer is trapped in there with him. It's like locking yourself out of your car because you left the keys inside
Nicknames Suck Hornet has no knowledge of the dream nail. The point was to tie the hollow knight down so you could absorb the infection, and she would hopefully escape
You have to love a game that makes you feel like a battered spouse. "Why do you play that game if it makes you angry and makes you feel like you suck at video games?" Me: "You dont even know what it like! Its really good to me! I feel that way because its my fault ok!"
So because the knight destroyed and absorbed the radiance through the god seeker it got flooded with void and died, meanwhile the Hollow Knight was free of the radiance and escaped the temple of the black egg to find hornet?
He just walked out, and Hornet was there, and it looks like the two will confront each other. Also, with the *Embrace the Void* (EtV) ending, it depends on whether or not you give a *delicate flower* to the Godseeker. EtV variant 1 -- Without the flower: The void floods and consumes Godseeker and, yeah, technically dies, but the void also lashes out from it (Him? Her? IDK) and is very likely to be the new threat to Hollownest. Now there's a trade-off; by consuming the true (Absolute) Radiance, you cure the *Infection* - The great plague of Hollownest. Yet, by doing so, the limitless power of the void lashes out of the Godseeker wildly, and now you've likely become the new threat, just after you've eradicated the other great threat. This might be a problem that Hornet can't solve, and Hollownest might be doomed again. EtV variant 2 -- With the flower: The void floods and consumes Godseeker and, yeah, technically dies, but the void also lashes out from it (Him? Her? IDK), *BUT!!!* The difference here is this: Just as the void lashes out of him/her, the flower... Either banishes, destroys, or seals, IDK -- The flower gets rid of the void somehow, before it becomes a threat. Godseeker and the limitless void are taken away by the *delicate flower* and the *Infection* has been purged because of the void. There are no more great threats that loom over Hollownest. At least, none that I know of. The only sort of problem that's happening right now is Hornet vs. Hollow Knight. I hope this was adequately informative.
Pretty much. I feel like the canon ending is probably the 4th one because it’s the only one where the knight presumably still lives, but he has also turned into The god of gods so he could either 1. Wreak havoc upon the world or do something else bad due to the limitless power he has absorbed Or 2. Return to the abyss rest in the abyss And I’m pretty sure the hornet and Hollow Knight confrontation will be important to Silksong
The knight gets clapped after defeating radiance (you can see it for a split second) so that can't be it. It's likely the hollow knight (sharp jaw and long nail)
I feel like ending 3 is the best one, the vessels and the void unite to finally fulfill their purpose. The hollow knight is free from his torture, and the ghost becomes one with the void, finally at peace.
So in ending 1 and 2 the infection is just sealed away into the hollow knight while he is basically permanently suffering because of it and in ending 3 you kill the radiance, which from my understanding is also the infection, and the hollow knight dies alongside it?
@@Wiz00445knight dies because he was in the dream world with The Radience which was controlling the infection and The Hollow Knight. when you killed her, there was no way to get out from the dream world. That's why knight died alongside with The Radience.
I actually have a few questions about the Delicate Flower ending. Has the Knight lost full control of themselves after ascending to the Shade Lord? If so, then were they aware of the fact they would become a threat? I just don't see any other reason as of why the Knight would even hand the Delicate Flower to the Godseeker in the first place other than the fact that they knew they would become an uncontrollable monster in the end and wanted to be stopped. The way I see it, the Knight sacrificed themselves without having to sacrifice anyone else, since the Hollow Knight presumably turned back to normal after the Radiance died, which I find the most justified ending. Ending 1 is basically a loop, Ending 2 forces Hornet into an eternal slumber, Ending 3 ended up making us wonder if the Knight and the Hollow Knight were still alive, and Ending 4 turned the Knight into a monster that continues to terrorise the kingdom. In the Delicate Flower ending, the Knight practically took care of everything themselves in order to make sure that nobody else would have to die anymore. Really makes you wonder if the Knight isn't as empty as you'd like to think. Then again, it's just a theory, and I'm probably wrong.
The most ironic thing here is that the pale king though something without a will, voice to cry out, and no mind to think would be able to seal the radiance but most of the endings that we get needs to have specific things to do.
Hornet be like: muda muda muda muda Hollow knight: ora ora ora ora ora ora ora Hornet: shall we compare the speed of our nail rushes Hornet: muda muda muda muda muda Hollow knight: ora ora ora ora ora ora
I still tink the third ending is the best one -All of the vessels souls are at peace -Hornet still lives -The duty of the hollow knight is complete with no casualties and permantly so there will be no more need of another hollow knight Altought the ending of god seeker with the delicate flower may be the best one it doesnt mean it was the canon one
Each and every one of these endings gave me goosebumps. This game was...no, IS freakin' awesome! $15 dollars for a powerful trip through Hallownest? That's a steal! Can't wait for Silksong!
@@behindthecookie8653 No, it should cost 15, it should be in that price, there are many countries where you need to pay more than what you've specified, not everything is U.S.A
When I got the sealed siblings end for the first time my old computer didn't handle these cutscenes the best, and once it zoomed in on the knight's face it just paused before the next frame was the door being sealed. Even the audio paused, so all I saw was those orange eyes, staring back at me, silent, unmoving, before the door closed. It was probably the most spooked I had been w/ this game since.
Dream no more definitely my favorite ending. The implications, the soundtrack, the little movements Hornet does and finally the cracked helmet and the void siblings... Crates a very somber mood for me.

@@imsofunnyxd1010 If he is a failed Vessel, like his appearance suggests, then he doesn't have an 'ass slayer': none of the vessels have gender/sex. That's why Hornet is sometimes called "The Gendered Child".
Just got dream no more about 10 minutes ago. After beating Pure Knight on attuned difficulty, I tried my hardest to beat him during the Pantheon of the Knight. No luck. Literally spent about two weeks trying to do it, when I was like “hey, how about instead of trying to complete this boring-ass expansion, I just beat the game and watch the other endings?” Most worthwhile thing I’ve ever done. Thanks for all the good times, Hollow Knight- you’re a beautiful game with a brutal difficulty curve
I would like to ask why everyone seems sure that the void will destroy Hallownest? because from what we've seen the only thing the void does is chill in the abyss, unless it's given form. In the case of the siblings, I'd say that's because they died a violent death and the imprint of their shells still effects them enough to have a simple mind. In your case though, you have absolute control of your mental faculties, and seem to have no malevolnece towards Hallownest. The reason the GS died is that she got pumped full of the void, and subsequently died from it as seems to have happened to many corpses in the ancient basin, who were only exposed to it in proximity.
I am repelled by all those theories which use parts from all over the lore. I feel happy with the god-master endings, and only take what I can see. The Vessel creates a super cool void entity and removes the plague from existence, which allows the poor old HK to life on and leave his prison. Seems good to me. Maybe there is more to it, but I rather wait for a cannon conclusion if there is going to be one.
Look at the Abyss area. Even if you ignore that the siblings try and totally fuck anything up that comes near, you can find puddles of pure void in the abyss that literally sprout tentacles to destroy anything that comes near. If it wasn't a threat, then it wouldn't have been sealed away in the abyss from the rest of the kingdom. If you can control it like the Knight, it's fine, but otherwise it'll fuck your day up.
Lampsundae It looks however, that the void was shaped in both those cases, if you look closely at the tendrils you will see the mound they sprout from has 3 glowy bits, most likely eyes. This points to it being most likely molded into such an aggressive form
A lore video on the Godmaster DLC states how there are different statues of the player character that change depending what level you beat every boss on. 1. Regular Player character 2. Void version of PC that appears in the “Dream No More” ending 3. Void god And the scary thing? The description for the 3rd one is “Void given form”. Meaning that it’s now aware and there’s a good chance it’s coming to completely wreck the world like it may have done to the ancient race before the place was formed. After all the Radiance was destructive, why wouldn’t the void god be either?
The ending where hollow knight is free brings the most tears and i couldn't stop crying for 1 minute and then i beat the absolute radiance without fighting hollow knight so when i saw him i cried
Endings explained 1. The knight seals the radiance within its mind. However, there is no dreamer to generate a seal, meaning that when the infection eventually consumes the knight, the whole world of Hallownest will become like the infected crossroads. 2. Similar to the first, but Hornet acts as a dreamer and seals the temple. However, the infection will still leak out and now it’s impossible for anyone to fix it because the only dreamer is in the temple, which can’t be entered without killing said dreamer. 3. The siblings unite and consume the radiance, ending the infection. It seems like the element of light still exists, just without its god. The siblings return to the void, as does our knight. They finally get to rest. The infection will stop spreading, and will slowly die off. 4. The ancient god of void, the Shade Lord has arisen and killed the manifestation of dreams and light. This instantly ends the infection. The Shade Lord uses Godseeker to enter the real world and will most likely attempt to consume all of Hallownest. The Hollow Knight is unsealed, presumably because the radiance no longer exists, and he walks out of the temple. Hornet confronts him because she does not know he’s in control of himself again. The two will most likely fight, but I believe they will work together in the end. 5. Similar to 4, but a delicate flower is used to seal away, banish, or destroy Godseeker and the Shade Lord. Our knight is within it, and may actually be controlling it. Either way, he once again sacrificed himself for Hallownest
One thing I want to say about your explanation of endings 1 and 2 is that from what I understand the first hollow knight was consumed by the infection because he wasn't completely empty as he had had a father-son relationship with the pale king but the hollow knight that we control if it is completely empty so that it is not consumed by the radiance
I find it intriguing that in the Sealed Siblings ending it has Hornet’s mask in the place of a Dreamer, so if there were to be another knight to take on the quest of becoming the vessel, they’d have to destroy Hornet. One, destroying Hornet would be impossible, but Two, Hornet isn’t dead and will never be since she’s a Dreamer, and she is under the protection of the black egg and our knight.
that's was I was thinking since hornet was a child of Herrah the beast, the queen of deepnest AND a Dreamer, she most likely the next dreamer that will take the place of her mom to become a dreamer. Since she in the black eggs temple where no one can get it or out, the temple will forever be sealed and never be opened. FOREVER. No matter wut. -thisisverylongthingIhavewrite-
I feel for THe hollow knight i cried at the music change when he stabbes himself because of how much pain he is in from the disease, and how he stumbles when he tries to attack you because hes in pain.
I feel like "bad ending" (First One) would technically be the best if the knight didnt get sealed. Because unlike hollow knight, knight is actually a perfect vessel, no will, no ideal, no personality. He has no wants. Theres no way for radiance to take over. Hollow knight wanted to be useful, which gave radiance a way to take over. If the knight didnt get locked up, it would be a perfect ending. Atleast to my understanding. Strong possibility i got something wrong as its 2 AM.
@@the_protectorof_smols3563 He is not perfectly empty though, the entire idea of the knight is that he has the same hopes as the player to protect this kingdom which will help the radiance sooner or later.
@@the_protectorof_smols3563 As if anything in the lore is "EXPLICITLY stayed", him fighting his way to the hollow knight is proof he has will to protect the kingdom if he didnt have will then he would have never fought anything.
Apollyon the guardian of the locust The entire point of the hollow knight getting corrupted was that it's impossible to create a being without feelings. The "Pure vessel" is a myth.
The first time I killed the Hollow Knight (the first ending), I cried... I didn't expect that whoever kills the knight, becomes the knight 😭😭😭 such a beautiful game and such a sad story...
damn, the knight literally goes through living hell, dying multiple times to people who are hundreds of times stronger than them just to save an already pretty dead kingdom from an infection. I really hope that their efforts weren't in vain and the kingdom repopulated and started functioning again. i mean, who's gonna talk to elderbug otherwise? zote? awkward lady? sure so I really hope in silksong we can get an update or even explore hallownest if it's a sequel. and maybe even some references from the knight in the game. I'm really gonna miss that fella, they seemed like they had emotions unlike most of the vessels
My favorite ending is number three, because the Knight (not the Hollow Knight) makes a worthy sacrifice to eradicate the Radiance and, with it, the infection. I can even imagine hearing the words "No cost too great..." as the image showing the broken helmet of the Knight fades to black.
I think the knight rejoined with the void. If you look closely you could see the knight shell breaking at 4:31 . Not to mention hornet was waiting outside the black egg temple to help us beat the hollow knight. So it must be the pure vessel that is now freed from the radiance's control. Edit I LOVE YOU TEAM CHERRY
Yeah. I think that the knight not only joined with the void but he BECAME the void. Think about it. In the statue in godhome after clearing the Panthenon the statue is of himself and is titled the “God of Gods”. Meaning that after beating the radiance he absorbed the power of all the gods that had been attuned and managed to become The Void Given Focus. So I think that if the knight managed to escape back into the real world then he would’ve returned to the abyss where he would only truly be free
Im new to the lore but i think this is what happens: (Long comment) 1. Player absorbs the infection, the radiance, but is locked up so it can stop the infection temporarily, and possibly turns the player into the hollow knight, and maybe lises control over the inection agian in an unending loop. 2. Same thing, but hornet is gone 3. The radiance has been defeated, but the player then dissappears after killing the boss. Maybe it went into the ground with the others? 4. By beating the pantheon, the player has released a terrible new creature that absolutely annihilated absolute radiance. It then consumes hollownest with its darkness, and turns Godseeker into some beast (or possesed Godseeker) 5. Same thing, but Godseeker self destructs due to the delicate flower. Special ending God leaves hollownest.
Sort of? But in the 4th ending the Knight BECOMES the god of gods by attuning every god in the Panthenon and then goes on to presumably destroy Godseeker and escape from godhome and goes back into the real world where it could either 1. Wreak havoc upon the world using the limitless power of the Void Or 2. Return to the abyss and be completely unified with the void of the world I personally think that the knight will return to the abyss because that’s the only place it can really go now that it has become pure void. It’s also the only place it can go and be truly at peace and free
The 1 and 2 is a little wrong so i will tell: It dont stop temporary the infection it actually stop it forever bc the knight (idk how to write it) is the perfect host it has no persona,no likes,no loved ones,no wills it has nothing to the infection use him so the infection wouldnt have how to spread but for safety since the infection could leave him he had to be locked forever
I've just finished this game with the third ending. Jesus christ, this game is incredibly hard, but it's also very stimulating. It's one of my favourite games in the last years, but I admit I don't know what clearly happened. I have a very basic idea of the plot, but nothing more. Well, time to see some lore videos!
In the last 2 endings im pretty sure that Hornet watched The Hollow Knight come out of the temple. It sounds like large steps and its needle is thin and looks like a perfect nail. At least she can see one of her siblings again.
4:55 i would like to note that, at 4:55, this shows the intense durability of the radiance. The void is a pure destructive force. Being wrapped in tendrils of the lord of shades killed the dream seeker through a dream and let it escape the dream world - *the radiance took hits.* Of course, it's not escaping, attacking, or surviving, but it actually took a few hits from the lord.
Please tell me the “Embrace the Void” ending is the canon ending. I wanna see the Hollow Knight alive, and I wanna know how Hornet escaped/defeated him. (If Hollow Knight: Silk Song is a sequel.)
TC said all endings are canon but whether anything in Silksong confirms one as more canon than others is an open question. Personally, I'm for Sealed Siblings being the canon ending and Silksong is a prequel sequel where Hornet is imprisoned in the Black Egg after the events of Hollow Knight, but dreaming of past events. Or at least I like to joke about that. :)
CrankyTemplar That would be really cool, but I’d still love the Embrace the Void ending to be the true canon ending. Because, Imagine if Silk Song was actually a Sequel to Hollow Knight, and we could see/battle the Hollow Knight after the destruction of the Radiance.
*The Hollow Knight:* Having felt emotion this vessel lay in ruins, Two brothers had fought till the larger one dropped, The small prison of void now enshackles the infection again. *Sealed Siblings:* A sibling gone, A sibling enchained, A sibling's corpse now locked away. *Dream No More:* Though the infection now crumbles, We mourn for the fallen, And the one that escaped. *Embrace The Void:* Outside of the gods only true void exists, The knight that was sealed is now free from radiance, And the ones who searched are one with the abyss.
*Delicate Flower:* One of darkness so delicate gifted petals so frail, To the one that was golden who found naught but abyss, Who held a pale flower and ceased to exist.
It's main hero. He absorbed all gods and become incarnation of void's unlimited power. (That's proofed by the "God of Gods" statue is Godhome.) And i think that 5th ending is true ending. Cuz if mh would escape in the real world, he would've destroyed it and we couldn't play as Hornet in next DLC. By the way, ending of that... ending... means that we'll be able to befriend (or fight as Hornet) with Hollow Knight! :D
I think that the 4th ending (dont give delicate flower to godseeker) would end up as the ending the hornet dlc starts from. I think as hornet, we will be fighting the void taking over the minds of everyone as opposed to ghost fighting the infection taking over the minds of everyone, and the delicate flower ending is just some kind of easter egg to show what the white lady meant about the delicate flower's power, and possibly show that it could still be used by hornet to defeat ghost in the hornet dlc.
I'm so hyped for the sequel DLC, all those questions answered. More dialogue with Hornet since she can talk. Her first encounter with Hollow Knight, i'm so fucking excited that he might befriend her.
@@georgie7752 you're wrong. Why? 1) Void won't overtake anyone's mind, it's Main Hero himself became THAT THING after absorbing all Gods in the Godhome. He is unbeatable and would've destroyed the world. There is a way to beat him with delicate flowers i think, but eeeh that's stupid af. 2) 5th ending is true ending. I'm 99% sure because it is a bit harder to achieve just like true ending in the main game.
well the void overtaking everyone's mind thing was just a theory I had, and yes, I know that the main hero becomes the abyss god in godhome. I still think the 4th ending is the true ending because otherwise its just kind of anticlimactic that the only thing that happened is that the infection is gone and THK is free. plus, it is odd to think such a huge event in the storyline could be stopped by giving the delicate flower to godseeker, which isn't that hard to do.
I love the last ending is kinda like the ending of Tlotr. No more radiance, no more void and no more gods. Is time to end the tale, time to progress, time of mortals.

They don't even really have to show up much or learn communication or anything, I just wanna see something with these half-siblings hanging around and not beating the shit outta each other as they deal with the new world
ruthlesslistener yea I wanna see black guy in cloak in game about about black woman with red coat
I really hope that The Knight is referenced.
You're like one of the few people I see use the right pronouns for the hollow knight.

@@hirahiro2331 Yeah, most likely won't kill the Hollow Knight
So basically the knight finds a back door into the radiance's domain and consumes it with the void thus eradicating it, the hollow knight still being alive sees hornet and assumes they are trying to release the infection, he's trying to do his job not knowing the radiance is dead
So your telling me that the guy that guy is hollow night? Oof now i realy wonder hollow nights reaction the fact that his place has been switch
Grim was just there to chill and party. He sees it as a great thing to be attuned to , he is a higher being after all.
Zote, Eternal Ordeal
I agree wholeheartedly. The implications of Grimms ritual are interesting and he seems to be a being on par with the radiance in many ways. His troupe is a hive mind attuned to him/the nightmare heart and its implied the ritual is how he maintains his strength/relevance.
Hes ambiguous morally but the people in his troupe like divine arent very pure intentioned with the exception of the one guy who wants to break free.

Every ending is cannon, and all will be incorporated into Silksong
I have a feeling that the Canon ending is the 4th one. In the 4th one the Knight either transforms or becomes a part of The Void given Focus and is set free after presumably destroying the Godseeker, and the ending also includes Hornet getting ready to fight The Hollow Knight (most likely) which is probably gonna be a big part of Silksong. Plus I hope it’s the one that’s canon because I know it doesn’t fit the dark tone of the game but it’s the only one where the knight is presumably ever seen again or even gets freedom of his duty to destroy the infection.

@@bowserjjumetroid3645 That is the best explanation i found about those two endings. I was not understanding them until now, thank you.
@@josesalas6187 No problem. I like making sense of convoluted things like this.
Pretty much. I feel like the canon ending is probably the 4th one because it’s the only one where the knight presumably still lives, but he has also turned into The god of gods so he could either
1. Wreak havoc upon the world or do something else bad due to the limitless power he has absorbed
Or 2. Return to the abyss rest in the abyss
And I’m pretty sure the hornet and Hollow Knight confrontation will be important to Silksong

I think embrace the void is them embracing themself and their true power, and their helmet can no longer contain their power.

@@imsofunnyxd1010 If he is a failed Vessel, like his appearance suggests, then he doesn't have an 'ass slayer': none of the vessels have gender/sex. That's why Hornet is sometimes called "The Gendered Child".

H.K(Shade): Yep. This still counts.
Just got dream no more about 10 minutes ago. After beating Pure Knight on attuned difficulty, I tried my hardest to beat him during the Pantheon of the Knight. No luck. Literally spent about two weeks trying to do it, when I was like “hey, how about instead of trying to complete this boring-ass expansion, I just beat the game and watch the other endings?”
Most worthwhile thing I’ve ever done.
I agree
1. Regular Player character
2. Void version of PC that appears in the “Dream No More” ending
3. Void god
And the scary thing? The description for the 3rd one is “Void given form”. Meaning that it’s now aware and there’s a good chance it’s coming to completely wreck the world like it may have done to the ancient race before the place was formed. After all the Radiance was destructive, why wouldn’t the void god be either?
These endings just make me depressed, poor Knight bois! (Also poor Hornet, I like Hornet a lot)
Sacrificing yourself for the greater good
Is the least hollow thing of all
That is pretty much why the first hollow knight failed. "It had an idea instilled inside of it"
The Knight SLAPS the absolute radiance out of the Absolute Radiance in ending 3
Dang, how could they leave us on a cliffhanger like that? I just want to know if Mr. Mushroom makes it to the moon or not.
I'm guessing he died on the way to his home planet.
The ending where hollow knight is free brings the most tears and i couldn't stop crying for 1 minute and then i beat the absolute radiance without fighting hollow knight so when i saw him i cried
Endings explained
You for 6 :(
I find it intriguing that in the Sealed Siblings ending it has Hornet’s mask in the place of a Dreamer, so if there were to be another knight to take on the quest of becoming the vessel, they’d have to destroy Hornet. One, destroying Hornet would be impossible, but Two, Hornet isn’t dead and will never be since she’s a Dreamer, and she is under the protection of the black egg and our knight.
that's was I was thinking
since hornet was a child of Herrah the beast, the queen of deepnest AND a Dreamer, she most likely the next dreamer that will take the place of her mom to become a dreamer. Since she in the black eggs temple where no one can get it or out, the temple will forever be sealed and never be opened. FOREVER. No matter wut.

Bruh sealed siblings is the worst ending
So this is what's happening under my garden....
Yep exactly I get annoyed when ppl say OH NOES RADIANCE WILL SOMEHOW GET OUT OF A *PERFECTLY EMPTY VESSEL*
@@the_protectorof_smols3563 He is not perfectly empty though, the entire idea of the knight is that he has the same hopes as the player to protect this kingdom which will help the radiance sooner or later.
@@HargMentor wait where is this EXPLICITLY stayed?
@@the_protectorof_smols3563 As if anything in the lore is "EXPLICITLY stayed", him fighting his way to the hollow knight is proof he has will to protect the kingdom if he didnt have will then he would have never fought anything.
Well it is. The knight does have a will and it is stated in many moments. It's just that the queen was wrong about it.
I love the dream no more ending as the hollow knight comes back to “help a brother out” I say

The pure vessel is The Hollow Knight version zombie!
I really hope that their efforts weren't in vain and the kingdom repopulated and started functioning again. i mean, who's gonna talk to elderbug otherwise? zote? awkward lady? sure
so I really hope in silksong we can get an update or even explore hallownest if it's a sequel. and maybe even some references from the knight in the game. I'm really gonna miss that fella, they seemed like they had emotions unlike most of the vessels
Yes, here everything is clear this is our main character the real image of his lord of emptiness.
My favorite ending is number three, because the Knight (not the Hollow Knight) makes a worthy sacrifice to eradicate the Radiance and, with it, the infection. I can even imagine hearing the words "No cost too great..." as the image showing the broken helmet of the Knight fades to black.
am i the only one who finds hornet twitching in the dream no more ending hilarious

The soundtrack from the game is absolutely amazingly well composed
6:57 - 7:26
I don't know why, but I'm crying. It always seems to me that the Godseeker is crying, holding a delicate flower in her hands.😢
I like to think during Dream No More, the Knight is sacrificing himself to have Hornet, his sister, be at peace
just a quick caution for those who are sensitive to flashing lights at 4:43 (ends at 4:52)
Another begins at 6:15 (ends at 6:22)
I think the knight rejoined with the void.
Im new to the lore but i think this is what happens:
(Long comment)
1. Player absorbs the infection, the radiance, but is locked up so it can stop the infection temporarily, and possibly turns the player into the hollow knight, and maybe lises control over the inection agian in an unending loop.
2. Same thing, but hornet is gone
3. The radiance has been defeated, but the player then dissappears after killing the boss. Maybe it went into the ground with the others?
4. By beating the pantheon, the player has released a terrible new creature that absolutely annihilated absolute radiance. It then consumes hollownest with its darkness, and turns Godseeker into some beast (or possesed Godseeker)
5. Same thing, but Godseeker self destructs due to the delicate flower.
Special ending
God leaves hollownest.
Sort of? But in the 4th ending the Knight BECOMES the god of gods by attuning every god in the Panthenon and then goes on to presumably destroy Godseeker and escape from godhome and goes back into the real world where it could either 1. Wreak havoc upon the world using the limitless power of the Void
Or 2. Return to the abyss and be completely unified with the void of the world
I personally think that the knight will return to the abyss because that’s the only place it can really go now that it has become pure void. It’s also the only place it can go and be truly at peace and free
The 1 and 2 is a little wrong so i will tell:
It dont stop temporary the infection it actually stop it forever bc the knight (idk how to write it) is the perfect host it has no persona,no likes,no loved ones,no wills it has nothing to the infection use him so the infection wouldnt have how to spread but for safety since the infection could leave him he had to be locked forever
mossbag
I've just finished this game with the third ending. Jesus christ, this game is incredibly hard, but it's also very stimulating.
It's one of my favourite games in the last years, but I admit I don't know what clearly happened. I have a very basic idea of the plot, but nothing more.
Well, time to see some lore videos!
Definitely would recommend mossbag's videos, as he focuses on lore stuff.
In the last 2 endings im pretty sure that Hornet watched The Hollow Knight come out of the temple. It sounds like large steps and its needle is thin and looks like a perfect nail. At least she can see one of her siblings again.
7:05 I ACTUALLY ALMOST CRIED FOR NO REASON, JUST HIM HOLDING ONTO THE FLOWER WHILE DYING SHENUDNEHEJCN
4:55
i would like to note that, at 4:55, this shows the intense durability of the radiance.
Or we could even see the return of the Shade Lord, or even that the Void took over Hollownest. That would be cool too.
@@EnzoZambrotti Hornet should spar with her sib :)
5:51 that music sync really gives me chills.
*The Hollow Knight:*
Having felt emotion this vessel lay in ruins,
Two brothers had fought till the larger one dropped,
The small prison of void now enshackles the infection again.
*Sealed Siblings:*
A sibling gone,
A sibling enchained,
A sibling's corpse now locked away.
*Dream No More:*
Though the infection now crumbles,
We mourn for the fallen,
And the one that escaped.
*Embrace The Void:*
Outside of the gods only true void exists,
The knight that was sealed is now free from radiance,
And the ones who searched are one with the abyss.
*Delicate Flower:*
One of darkness so delicate gifted petals so frail,
To the one that was golden who found naught but abyss,
Who held a pale flower and ceased to exist.
What is the abyss creature in endings 4 + 5 meant to represent? the creature which slashes at the radiance at the end of the fight
It's main hero. He absorbed all gods and become incarnation of void's unlimited power. (That's proofed by the "God of Gods" statue is Godhome.)
And i think that 5th ending is true ending.
