Thanks! Actually the BPM is 128 so not that high compared to some contemporary techno/EDM. It may seem faster though because I used 16th triplets here.
I've never had an xbase, but from what I've heard alpha base is a big improvement, so if you regret selling the xbase, there are options 😅 @@sinelanguageMusicProducer
Nice machine and great (ab)user! 😮❤ If this is really what it sounds like raw recorded into a pocket recorder without further processing then hats off!
I only got mine Friday, was in 2 minds because I didn't understand it and wanted instant gratification. The UI is not a traditional hands on approach, it has idiosyncrasies. I know of no other drum machine that gives you up to 32 endless encoders with a page A/B function. This is why you can do what you can with this instrument. I got mine super cheap demo unit that is brand new, it's deff a keeper and the fact it shies away from a traditional percussive instrument is what makes it better than all those clones of clones. The kick is king of all kicks, and you never hear anything get lost. You've given me a real reason to chest puff and say, Hi I own a Jomox AB and I can do stuffs you can't. :P
Take your time with the manual. Apart from learning how to play it, it also describes some not obvious features of the parameters. Thanks for commenting and have fun with your Alpha Base! :)
@@MaharadzaStunt Will do and wise words, I think what happened to me was info overload. I generally never read manuals, this is why UIs have to be intuitive, with the case of the AB though, its complexity has be reduced by how you interact with it. I have a snake cable coming so I can record separate outs, I wont rush this instrument, it took me 2 years to get it. What I have played with it though, is fun and immediate. Thanks for your support.
This beautiful machine is loaded with analog goodness and a flexible sequencer. All this analog power will be warm music to your ears as you learn to tame it. And I'm with you concerning "instant gratification" but we don't always get that with gear that has this type of workflow, as you are aware of.
great performance. thank you! Are you recording the filter knob movement at minute 1:00 into the machine? How can you do this? I didn't find this an my Alpha Base.
Thanks! While in edit mode, hold down an instrument button and then move any knob you want. This movement is then recorded. Is as simple as that ;) there might be another way to do this if you're using the real time write function, but i don't use it.
Thanks! I sometimes use my own samples but in this case it's only the factory samples. The volume is low because the recorder that I use - Tascam DR-05 - clips at fairly low audio levels, so I have to record in lower volume to avoid digital distortion. As for your question about cycles, I'm not really sure what you mean by that. If you elaborate a little I'll answer that too! If you mean looping the samples - I'm not using it in this jam.
@@DayflightTrok I see. I do something similar in other jams by shortening some ambient sample and looping it. In this jam there is nothing like that. The drone sound comes from self oscillating LP filter with LFO on cutoff parameter. With plenty of reverb.
I sadly can't help you with that. I just used the scales that gives 16th triplets and went with its peculiar flow. After your question I searched a little bit and found a Reddit post regarding triplets in techno and someone recommended Asmar - Norm track. I see some similarities with the vibe, so maybe go from there 😅
So much smoother than the modern "hi-tek", this is high bpm at its finest!

I need to hear more of your sessions that was dope
Feel free, I've got plenty 😁 thanks for listening and good luck with you future alpha base I suppose!
amazing jam
Gracias!! Como siempre tu música es de otro nivel!
Thank you!
This jam is on fire!
Sounds tight! Awesome machine!
I had an XBase09 for a while, the one I regret most selling.

Ok, I am going to buy it now. Go with my Perkons I reckon
Utterly superb ❤
Ben fatto, bravo 👍

awesome textures

Thank you! I did basic mastering for dynamics etc. post recording so it's not 100% raw but I didn't add any extra sounds or effects.
The snare you are messing with around 6:15……sample or mbrane? sounds ridiculously good and I cant figure out how to get a good mbrane analog snare.
@@Sean-b4g that’s one of the factory samples

Great! Do you use only the factory Samples in the AB or your own samples (one cycle or longer ones)? And why is the AB volume nealy down to zero?

Wish Jomox would accept people do abuse their drum machines and put some tougher step buttons on their kit. 🙏
No kidding, I wish the step buttons were the same clicky type as the instrument buttons 🙏
someone has any recommendations for techno artists/songs like this?
