- Today I will be finally reviewing my 1997 Chevrolet Camaro. My car is the 3.8L L36 V6 Engine. This car has pretty much the exact interior and body as the 98-02 Camaro's as well. But this video is mainly for the 92-97 Camaro's. My car does have body mods. But no performance mods. But i'm just going to be going over everything that every 4th gen Camaro has. I would be afraid to drive it until the steering wheel is fixed and possibly the exposed air bag. Because I can see the air bad through the crack in the steering wheel. Other than that, it’s a great car.
Airbag cover does not effect the airbag at all. There has to be an electrical charge to deploy it. You can take the cover off completely nothing will happen

3.8 99 sport model v6 black with grey stripes. had it 5 years, dont even think about winter driving but for summer its my favorite car design and was a dream owning at 18 (23 now). Planning on getting new car but i have two, I am keeping this as long as i can, people can hate on v6, but these are antique and thats huge.

5 engine options, you forgot the potent LT4, the hand built motor from the 96 Corvette Grand Sport .
A geek like you (former geek myself) is going to need a nice car to attract women, this works just fine. Of course a Z28 or SS with the V8 would be better, but this is perfectly good. It looks nice as hell.

Dude you're killing me, a couple months ago I bought an 01 with 112k miles on it. Great mileage for a 20 yrs old car.

These Camaros are the best car to get for the money! Excellent handling, Rather fast, And really fun!! I consider buying one!
You may want to fix your steering wheel because the center of your wheel has a split in it and could cause your airbag to go off while you drive
That's alot of work. Haven't decided yet if I want to replace it. I have a cover on it now.
does anyone know if the 3800 V6 version of the Camaro suffers from engine fire?
this engine was used in Pontiac and some of their models were recalled due to engine fires.
older ones it is possible. But if maintained correctly you should have no issue.
Only the transverse mounted l36 and l67 has the engine fire problem.

Only get the 3.8l and ls v8 versions. The 3.4l and base v8 non ls were utter junk engines. The transmissions were also junk . But if got the v6 3.8l automatic those transmissions where everywhere in buick, oldsmobile, chevy , pontiac easy find a decent replacement for cheap. The 3.8l was one the best engines gm ever made. Easy work on, easy to fix. 3.8l camaro or firebird not a racer engine which great for those need a cheap fun car. I personally prefer gen 4 firebird far better than the catfish camaro.

Nope. No leaks
I’ve noticed a very small leak in the corner of mine on the driver side, while at the car wash. I don’t typically drive it in the rain.
