Last thing. When Ipswich got pumped by Man City at the weekend after the game the Ipswitch fans clapped and chanted to their team to show support. We have to show the players that we believe in them and Parky especially after a loss.
Andrew Pollard, thank you for an honest, refreshing look at things!! I’m convinced that I’ll never understand the mind of a Wrexham/UK footy fan as in this American’s opinion, there is very little to whinge about, but you have provided hope so thank you!!
Being appreciative of where the team has come over recent years while also being disappointed in a singular performance are not mutually exclusive. Both can be valid emotions at the same time. With expectation comes expectation.
I think you are onto something that they may want to consider changing their routines, at least for home games within 2 or 3 hours of the Stok Cae Ras. One year the San Francisco 49ers were unbeaten on the road, but losing all the time at home. Bill Walsh started taking them for a plane ride and putting them in a hotel the night before games and it changed the mentality. They don't need to anything that extreme. but going .y500 with wins and losses yields more points than drawing every game.
@AndrewPollard, you're forgetting the fact that the away supporters spend a small fortune to travel to these away games. Tbh, i, for one, will not waste the best part of a hundred quid to go and watch an odds on insepid performance because that's what we see in each away game.@Tim, Donyou honestly think Parky will make wholesale changes for Thursday's game?
I think that when teams come to the Racecourse they are nervous because of all the hate and attention Wrexham get, now they have to face us in our fortress and it affects them. It flips away from home, teams raise their game and the pressure is on our players to live up to the hype. I really think its whats going on off the pitch with the doc etc that influences our and the opposing teams perfomances psychologically.
If Wrexham does add Michael Smith then we'll need to add some speed/attacking in the form of an attacking midfielder and/or a fast forward. Players who can stretch the opposition. And I'm with you in my frustration over not knowing where the club stands in potential acquisitions. Just as posting a goal early in a game calms my nerves, a quality transfer announced at the beginning of the transfer window would have gone a long way to calm my anxiety about my increasing concern we're watching our chance of automatic promotion gradually slip away.
I honestly think Parky made a few changes at Shrewsbury, playing for a draw.. keeping some players back ready for Brum. Slops of course had other ideas!! But I agree with Tim, we'll see a different squad out at home, and a much better performance.
Thought parky starting fletcher and lee up top with 3 strikers on the bench was purely bizarre. Always go away playing cautious , hoping to grab a goal on a rare break away and nick it. We need to get on the front foot and go for the jugular , some times. We seem to ever offer a threat of some kind when we fall behind. Away performances are horrendous compared to our home form. Either sparks needs to set up different away from home or improve it finally. As for new signings, if we want to remain in the play offs we need to add couple of new faces of quality this month, as i really dont believe this squad has enough quality to get us promotion, we punching above our means at moment due to solely home form. Recruitment has been shite up front , lets be honest , time to finally get it right.
I would ask the CEO, what were your top five priorities when appointed and what is the progress on these. In addition, since your appointment has any other top priorities surfaced?
The away form has been pretty shit since the takeover if we are being honest, Bar the odd decent performance. We praise our players so much when they are good and we should also be able to tell them when they are shite. One thing that bothers me is, when a team gets in our faces we shrivel up. To quote the great Roy Keane. “Smash into em” we’ve got to toughen up, if they bite we bite harder
What to do about it? It will change as the hype around Wrexham dies down over time. The documentary will end at some point and Wrexham will just be another team. Ryan Reynolds is one of the biggest celebs in the World and everyone wants to beat Wrexham. No wonder the players struggle away from home. You could argue they have done amazingly well given the intense media attention associated with the club.
I would like to understand the rules in bringing in international players to the woman’s team. After watching the woman’s team in the USA last summer I wonder if bringing in international would add to the depth.
Question for Michael - as incoming CEO, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you feel that the "business culture" of Wrexham FC needs to change, to enable the club's growth into a Championship caliber club? (10 = Maximum change). I assume we all agree that the on-field culture is in good shape.
He's been struggling this year on a League Two team. Wrexham should be looking at quality Championship players to add to the team. And this goes double for any new striker addition. So I'd be disappointed if his name came up as a serious transfer candidate.
There is an element of over reaction. For me, i get frustrated, the squad had nearly 2 weeks to prepare for the Derby. Mullin is so frustrating at times, he backs in to players or falls over unessesarliy, the refs know him, so why can't he change things? Macca should have been pulled for Mendy. On another note, why can't Parky switch things and swap Macca and Barney?
Spot on re: McLean, incident became a subplot that gave them an advantage. PP should have pulled him for Mendy. He gets it because of his views and probably our chant. Throwing stuff is disgraceful from them.
Great podcast. Wonderful guest. Loved the transfer wishes. As an American avoiding today’s news and theater, it was welcome relief.
WELL DONE Mr TRUMP. 🏴👊👊👊👏🏻👏🏻

@jph416 - don’t worry we have time to work on you
Up the town!

1:16:17 Same referee as for the Shrewsbury game by the way.
I think the board reshuffle and the appointing of new executives may have taken the urgency of getting players in.

Of course, the reason they never get on the front foot on the road is their complete lack of attacking options!

Next time Wrexham women host Swansea at the Roc, it'll be 3-2 to Wrexham, knocking them out of the other Cup.

I couldn’t work out the starting lineup either… poor selection
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT MATE YES. 👏🏻👏🏻🏴
@@davidbarton7838 It was also notable that Ollie wasn't even on the squad, but apparently was there warming up before the game.

2 all would probably still be a fun game to watch

Could you ask about the progress of the Powerchair team and whether they will be able to enter a Powerchair league in the future?
What did you all make of the Darragh Mc Anthony interview with Charlie and the lads ?
how did the livestream enquiries go?
Not possible due to the MG technical shortcomings
Any word on Luke Armstrong? He's been made available by Carlisle and was a Parky target a year and a half ago.
He's been struggling this year on a League Two team. Wrexham should be looking at quality Championship players to add to the team. And this goes double for any new striker addition. So I'd be disappointed if his name came up as a serious transfer candidate.

3 blokes talking about nothing. 🥴
And here you are, your third comment in a row, talking about precisely nothing 😂
