The minister did not claim it was an Airline launch. He said it was a display. So where exactly is the fraud or scam? The ministry had already applied for the licences for the airline and a lot of work has been done to make the airline a reality so it is wrong to accuse the minister of perpetrating a fraud. Having said that I am not in support of how the minister went about trying to set up the airline without full transparency and carrying along our domestic airline operators along.

Can the Nigerian Aviation Minister explain to Nigerians why BA charges Nigerians about £2000 for a 6 hour round trip cattle-class ticket to Lagos whereas a 9 hour journey to Kenya even with a longer mileage costs about £700? Even worse, London to New York which is the same distance as flying to Lagos costs considerably less at about £400. In addition, there is growing evidence that the service standards on the London - Lagos are comparatively poor. BA has maintained a stranglehold on Nigerian routes flying regularly throughout the Ebola pandemic when other airlines avoided the Nigerian airspace. That alone is testament to the profitability of that route. Yet, Nigerians sit on their hands and watch a foreign entity siphoning away their revenue. Another state capture.
What I don’t understand is how anybody in Nigeria can believe that this was real. This is so annoying. What about the House of Representatives and Senate members overseeing Aviation. Even little children know that Nigeria is a zoo ruled by the mafia and those ruled are even worse.
