The conciousness of the average person is dominated by memory and the thought process. When the mind is still, something is seen which is beyond what we can know.

The artist is in a meditative process while creating these...I think?
Very Spritual!
I think we become to used to definitive ideas visually that we can turn our brains off to the more subtle concepts. Agnes Martin's works makes me consider what actually comes up in my mind and body when I look at it. Why the colours, why the lines, but like everything else its existence is completely valid because it simply is. And how do i feel about that?
