Trains at Aberdeen-Matawan 6/30/22

1: A westbound deadhead crosses Atlantic Avenue and passes through the station with ALP-46 4601 in charge. Multilevel Cab Car 7028 is trailing.
2: Train 3227 arrives with ALP-46A 4654 on the point, running 16 minutes late. Cab Car 7046 is at the end.
3: X325 cruises past the old station with Comet V Cab Car 6041 leading the way. Powering the set is ALP-46 4607.
4: Train 3236 makes its stop with Cab Car 6054 leading the way. ALP-46 4621 brings up the rear.
5: A hy-rail truck slowly rolls through the station on Track 2.
6: Two MoW units pull off the siding just west of the station. They then begin heading west along with the hy-rail truck to do some work around Hazlet.
7: Train 3231 pulls in 4 minutes behind schedule with ALP-46A 4658 on the point. Bringing up the rear is Cab Car 7043.
8: Train 3240 pulls in on Track 1, running 9 minutes late. Cab Car 7046 leads the way, and ALP-46A 4654 is trailing.
9: Train 3235 makes its stop, led by ALP-46 4612. Trailing is Cab Car 7001.
10: Train 3244 arrives on Track 1 with Cab Car 7028 in charge. ALP-46 4601 is at the end.
11: Train 3239 rounds the bend past Main Street with Cab Car 6072 leading the way, running 5 minutes late. ALP-46A 4652 is trailing, and Cab Car 6023 is in front of it.
12: Train 3248 pulls in and makes its stop on Track 1 with Cab Car 7043 in charge, running a few minutes behind schedule. ALP-46A 4658 is trailing.
13: The hy-rail truck passes through the station once again before disengaging its rail wheels and driving off on Atlantic Avenue.

My parents bought our first house in Matawan in 1963. Were told the line would be electrified shortly. Only took 20 years. By the time I started commuting we had moved to Holmdel so I caught the train at Hazlet.

The first deadhead was at 9:50, the second came through at 10:19, the MoW units got to work at 10:55, and the hy-rail truck came west at 10:51 and back east at 1:35.
