It's supposed to be uncrackable, at least via the OBD port. They really locked these ECU's down. The 8Y has been out in europe for four years now and nobody has cracked it yet, they always crack these cars first. I believe it is physically impossible based on the circuitry; unless taken out and sent to a shop for physical/in person modification. Syvecs just released a new ECU for it though, maybe that will be a much better option than the JB4, although it's expensive AF.
@@VancityAudi Totally. I used RS mode and pressed view. Then I had all necessary information available on the screen but like you said, shouldn't have to.
I ran the stagged 255/235 on 9" wide wheels on my 8V S3.. highly recommended. Bigger in the rear is just hauling extra weight with no benefit. Just a tune and minor bolt-ons on the old S3 is still good for 11's so not sure 4x the price of my used S3 is worth it (Mine was a 15' and I paid 22 for it)
Would be cool if iroz would do something for the 07k given its also a 5 cylinder. I want an RS3 but i could only manage a 2006 rabbit. Poor guys want 5 cylinder craziness too😅
12:00 the reason the gas gauge isn't showing up is because you have the car in performance mode. if you put the speedometer back to the normal gauge settings the gas level is displayed on the main page.
What offset on the RPF1s and any issues with 245/45/17s rubbing? Guessing you are on smaller brakes too. Thinking of 245/40/17 on RPF1s instead for a slightly lower profile, but still meaty look.
I really hope they update the rear bumper design for the face lifted sedan. The fake vent looking mustache is the main thing that made me pick the 8v back in July, as well as all the piano-black plastic in the interior.
To be completely honest, I hated the rear bumper design as well.... until I saw it in person! It looks WAY better in person then it does in pictures & videos.
You could always just put an S3 bumper on if you're that bothered. This car has a lot of throwback elements to older Audi's and this rear bumper is one of them.
I’ve owned mine for 1 year,15,000 k’s.Looking at replacing tyres soon.Would like to know solid information on wheel and tyre compatibility with staggered and square setup.
Please if You have any information on wheel and tire compatibility share it with us, I have a 2022 year model for Europe, and OEM tires are very dangerous to use on many roads,
First review I've heard mention of the gas gauge, but I was definitely confused when I first got my RS3 and couldn't find the gas gauge. Such a weird design choice.
You don't. It's not the size of the wheel that matters. If the height of your tire is similar to the height of your OEM tire, the speedo will be very close to accurate.
I mentioned in my last video that my friend that works at Audi said they would be. That, as well as a few articles like this: www.google.com/amp/s/motorillustrated.com/audi-rs-3-returning-to-canada-for-2025/123208/amp/
I’m a bit shocked that it could only get a 1.90 60 foot. Must be something along the TCU and ECU not liking the extra power. My MK8 R is getting a 1.81 60 foot stock for comparison
As I mentioned in the video this testing was done in terrible environmental conditions to go fast. That paired with too much tire for the OEM launch control and no ECU & TCU tune to be able to give it more boost or more rpm off launch definitely hampered it.
@@VancityAudi Got it. That makes sense. I’m used to bad DA in Iowa mostly due to high humidity and heat in the summer. Makes a big difference running in low DA. Nice video regardless
@@VancityAudi I will 1000% agree the DA for some reason here is really bad it's not just because of the elevation which is not very high. We're not talking Colorado like Colorado Springs not even close but the DA is reslly bad here which scks this is why if I do race my car, I plan to race it at Famosa
@jeffufcfanaticrosenberg your elevation and DA play a massive roll in how much slower cars go in Las Vegas then they do at Famoso or even more so, a place like Vancouver, Canada. That's why I mentioned and showed in the video the temp, DA and elevation and not just the elevation. They all come into play, and all make it harder for cars to go fast & make power.
Audi engineers played a lot of Forza Horizon AWD Drift 😂😂😂
Can't wait for someone in the US to crack this ECU and TCU. I think a Stage 1+ is where it'd be at for longevity and everyday driving.

The Sky is falling “ Audi drifting “ 🤜🏾💯💪👀🔥💥🤯
Not to mention how comfortable the drive is, was very surprised it rides much nicer than my corolla hybrid commuter.
Great video Adam!
Thanks!
Ahhh, we need these in Canada now... 😢
will be able to order them in Canada at the end of 2024
Epic! Making me want to sell my big turbo Mk7 😭
I feel you man! I'm in the same boat. My MK7 R is a blast and paid off. Lol.. maybe when interest rates drop. 🤜🏻🤛🏻
makes me want the next generation in a few years
Funny you should say that about the fuel gauge. That's the issue I had running this at Nürburgring as well.
So bizarre that Audi decided to do that

My point should have been made better... I think it is stupid that the gas gauge EVER disappears, lol. Regardless of what mode you're in.

Yes, you need smaller brakes, and no rubbing at all with 245/45/17's. The offset is ET35.
Another awesome video Adam! Are those Apex wheels on the 8Y ?
Thanks! They're TSW's

The lack of fuel gauge is incredibly frustrating. The remaining range always shows, but not having a fuel gauge is just silly.

If you switch it to the dual round dials I get a fuel display 100% of the time. Looking forward to ECU being cracked
Interesting to know! I never switched the display to the dual dials because I preferred the single. Thanks for the info.
Does anyone know the suspension setup on this car? The stance is so perfect!
Feel free to reach out to Iroz directly on social media and see if they'll share that info with you
what wheels and tyres are they
Super surprised there's no bm3 tune for the Audi. I think it's better than the jb4
Wheels specs?
Does anyone know the wheel specs this 8y is running? I know he mentioned the tires, but looking for info for the actual wheels
They are TSW Wheels - Kemora
@@VancityAudi oh damn, didn’t realize they got 18s on the 8y. I just got one and looking for a wheel setup lol

@VancityAudi I currently have a 245/40R18 and if I want to go down to a 245/45R17 it would give me the most accurate reading?
@Joshlifts22 no, the total height of the tire.
