I reached FF in mid 40s, but only 5 years after hearing about it and realizing that it can be done. Now I'm doing it for my kids. They don't know it and are busy going to school/choosing major. They have the energy and drive, but I'm hoping to have enough when they discover that working for someone else is not really what they want to do. Happened to me.
Dave Ramsey's sweet spot is helping people get out of debt. His advice is perfect for people who are drowning in debt and bad habits. Beyond that phase of getting out of debt, personality, preference, and inclination should be taken into consideration for where and how to go next.
I agree. And if those people invested like Ramsey suggests, they’ll still be doing better than 95% of their piers in retirement. But think The Money Guy are better for someone just coming out of Ramsey’s sweet spot
That last bit about the 1 hour learning to 3 hours of doing ratio was something I hadn't come across before. I really like it. I'm going to be implementing it immediately.
Dave Ramsey never limits you in your pursuits. What he says is get out of debt, stay debt free, invest at least 15% and by the way you can do it along the way building your own business.
Thanks Gabe - needed this today. Im a 100% a one man band. I have a Mobile Pizza business in the UK. Im a sports masseur (on occasion) and Im building a new business - coaching/productivity etc, which includes an actual new Brand. Thats due to start next month. I watch many of your videos and a lot DO help. You're more relatable to and down to earth than most of the other other 'up their own A77'' folk on here. Cheers...I needed a kick up my OWN butt today! Well done for the hard work and progress you've made!
Really good video, watched a few times to soak up these gems. I appreciated the reminder to be patient and keep at primary goal for 5ish years and know that I will accomplish a lot by that time. Also good reminder that focus and concentration leads to success (utilizing the one thing and 80/20 principle), that’s how 10x my income (current career) with 5-10 years of intense focus and will do it again with my second endeavor (personal finance education on TH-cam; good people in this niche ; )
The U.S. economy can actually get better if only the govt can start making better decisions for the sake of it's citizens, cos' they've really made life more difficult for its residents. Hyperinflation has left the less haves bearing the brunt of the burden. Its already eating into my entire $620k retirement portfolio. Like where else can we invest our money with less risks?
Just get a financial planner straight up! personally, I would invest in etf and also love investing in individual stocks. yes it’s riskier but I'm comfortable in my financial environment.
I agree. Exactly why I now work with one. A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their emotions, no offense. I remember some years back, during the covid-outbreak, I needed a good boost to stay afloat, hence researched for advisors and thankfully came across one with grit. As of today, my cash reserve has yielded from $350k to nearly $1m
I work with Carol Vivian Constable as my fiduciary advisor. Simply look up the name. You would discover the information you needed to schedule an appointment.
Thanks for the advice. The search for your coach was simple. I investigated her well before using her services. Considering her résumé, she appears competent.
Awesome video Gabe! I registered to join the workshop, I’m excited to continue learning. I left my job one week ago. I’m 24 years old and my husband and I just bought our first duplex. We’re house hacking!! The 9 to 5 is not for me, I’m a bit more entrepreneurial minded. I’m using this time off of working a job to read a ton of books and understand which type of business I’d like to try to grow.
I love the idea of the 3/1 rule. I do read a ton as well and I don't do nearly enough of what I have learned. We have the same idea about Dave Ramsey, lol.
Great video Gabe! I’m happy to see you succeed with a practicable approach. So many think ‘every day people’ can’t make this stuff work. You’ve inspired me to make a lot of changes over the years, and let me tell you, it doesn’t get more average Joe than me. I am THEE JAG and I’m here to tell people that ANYONE can implement what you teach.
You might’ve answered this is another video so apologies but what are the best financial books/podcasts you’ve found that you would recommend somebody trying to get more into financial independence and improve their overall financial literacy? Love your videos and thanks for all the great content!
A good hint for those who want to import . Go to trade shows in USA . Ask wholesalers what their best sellers are to get feel for market . The BIG show is in Hong Kong and CANTON TRADE SHOW about a 45 min train ride from HK. It’s huge wholesale show where you can find the manufacturers of any product you wish to sell . Look to sell in growth markets or those cities everone moving to
Nice video, business is great but it takes huge capital to excel in business, I knew I didn't have enough capital to start the type of business I wanted so I had to push myself into stock and cryptocurrency trading now I have 2 businesses that are doing well
Learning anything in life requires good mentorship to be successful, just find a mentor or trader who can guide you through the basics while you learn and earn
Curious, where did you purchase your first property? Do you get something in a place where you live or somewhere you haven't been before relying on a realtor?
Hi Gabe, you have been instrumental in my life changes for money & living ideas. wonder what you have to say about how much insurance is really important to carry and how to think about this aspect of a life. my budget is fairly reasonable, but insurance is a big part of it. and I think another consideration is how to think about this issue at what age level.
Jealous of how real estate can generate good income in the US. In the UK, being a landlord does not have the same upside and there's huge tax decentivisation so that second income part is a bit difficult. Maxing out investment isas means the road is a little longer before you have enough to retire early.
Totally agree on the action over learning tip-no point in waiting! I’ve been testing different strategies, like getting into crypto for retirement with My Digital Money. It’s super easy to set up and a cool way to plan for the future. Anyone else exploring crypto as part of their financial freedom journey?
This was awesome, thanks Gabe. Such a good reminder to act on what I’m reading and not get caught in the trap of just consuming information. Execution is where it’s at. 👍
The economy would heal and be robust if the government would get out of the way of small business owners and stop penalizing them and taxing them to the point of ruining them.
To be fair, there are tens of thousands of TH-camrs who are trying to be successful, they work hard, they are creative. But they missed the boat or simply got unlucky. You on the other hand were very lucky, and your work did actually pay off. Good for you. But, I am convinced to be really successful also means to be super lucky.
I've watched his channel grow for quite a while now. He wan't lucky. He was intentional and reflective; he monitored and adjusted. He payed attention to what worked and didn't work. He payed attention to those who were successful. Be built up targeted skills. Blaming his success and your lack of it on "luck" is precisely why you haven't succeeded.
You can’t. People like Gabe make it seem like everyone can do it but you have to be in the right time, at the right place and with the right tools. It’s not like just changing your mindset will give you a couple of houses that you can rent out. Or a stock portfolio with enough dividend to live of.
Is there a recorded version of the workshop you are doing? Its at 3am my time on a sunday night. And with how physically demanding my day job is i cant afford to not get enough sleep. Its to dangerous and will put my life and my workmates lives at risk. Also potentially the lives of the public depending what jobs i have on monday
This might sound like a crazy question....but do you have to sign up to listen to podcast??? Or is it on a radio station???? I am so behind time but I am trying to keep up.
Hi Gabe, found your channel by chance and started following you! I clicked on the workshop link and it takes me to a broken zoom link. Can you look into this please?
Invest in Bitcoin before retiring by diversifying across assets, allocating a small portion of your portfolio, staying updated on market trends, and considering long-term holding to balance risk and growth......
I recently sold half my tech stock holdings due to all-time highs, leaving me with $400k. Should I invest in ETFs now or wait for a market correction considering potential inflation?
It is so anoying hearing all youtube financial educators say "I was able to create a multiple six figure business ". No, bro!! You made a freakin youtube channel. TH-cam pays ridiculous amount of money to the creators and with that money you bought some rentals.. (again, not an actual business per se).. Try again, start with zero and build for example a factory and employ 100 people. Only than you can brag about "building a business".
Actually, I bought the rentals and reached financial independence before having a TH-cam channel. That was profitable. And TH-cam is absolutely a business. I have employees I have expenses for the first multiple years. It’s also very repeatable I know people who have multiple channels, including myself that are all profitable because of the business model. I’ve been doing TH-cam for like six years now I think if most people start a business and obsess about it and work thousands of hours on it for like six years, they can make money
*I really appreciate your clear and simple breakdown on financial pitfalls! I lost so much money on stook market but now making around $18k to $21k every week trading different stocks and cryptos*

So basically 99% of Americans

Dave Ramsey saved my financial life. Debt free is the best.
That last bit about the 1 hour learning to 3 hours of doing ratio was something I hadn't come across before. I really like it. I'm going to be implementing it immediately.
It’s a game changer
I honestly think this is your best video yet! Authentic, helpful insights and advice. Thanks Gabe.
I love that you say that this is your advice but to do what works for you. Many other financial gurus demand “do as I do”.
You inspire a 65 year old man! I am still useful and enjoying life helping others.
That is awesome!
