    Thanks for your videos Koby
    I learned about drizzling the resin around on the cloth with a popsicle stir stick from you just before laminating my first 9'6" EPS longboard. I used that technique along with the resin swirl pattern and I love the finished lamination, it looks very beautiful. Thanks from southern California

    I love the awesome finished look of it. Can you tell me the weight of the finished board, it is so cool! I want to make a glider like yours for my next board. I see you kept the weight down by using matte spray instead of another resin coat. One guy I surf with has been telling me to make a glider for some time now. I will study your contours and rail shapes from your well filmed video.

    Unreal board Bro! Great videos and instructions. Your an artist and a craftsman! You have inspired me to build my own board. How did you add your white logo to the black background? I know many builders print their logos on rice paper which becomes essentially invisible once glassed. You seemed to add your AFTER the glassing. Can you explain your logo process including what material you use?

    • @kobymaymonsurfboards7320
      @kobymaymonsurfboards7320  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this case i have done the logo with spray on top of the hot cote and under the clear coat with a template. To print white on rise paper you need special order from Boardlams. Usually i do all my logos black on rise paper 🤙🏼

    Where do you get your old school leash plugs?

    • @kobymaymonsurfboards7320
      @kobymaymonsurfboards7320  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is simply a hole through the fin box up to the deck filled with epoxy, then a small hole for the string 🤷🏻‍♂️
      There is no plug there

    Great build ! Superb finish !
    What’s your sanding process, what grades do you dry sand with and then what grads for the wet sand ? Also do you use sanded pads with your orbital sander.
    I’ve built a couple of wing foil boards but struggle with the finishing.

    • @kobymaymonsurfboards7320
      @kobymaymonsurfboards7320  ปีที่แล้ว

      Final sanding: 80, 120, 240. Then wet: 400, 800, 1200 and after drying i use spray matt clear coat 🤩

    Very nice board again! I am going to glass my 7'5 mini nose rider today. So learned some from this vid. I am to going to finish with clear spray. But hopefully it will became glossy. But what is that last liquid you used? And why?

    Hey Koby - sick board. What's your calculation for working out how much epoxy? Also, how do you do that leash plug? drilled from the fin box?

    • @kobymaymonsurfboards7320
      @kobymaymonsurfboards7320  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the leash plug i will do a short video in the next board, about the calculation, beginner should use 120gr per 1ft (epoxy) if the board is not too wide (less than 21.5”)
      Advanced can go to 100gr per 1 foot.
      If you use pigment you should add 10%
      6’0 short board clear i use 500 for the bottom and 600 for the deck (2 layers of fiberglass)

    easy trick for marking the cutlap. I usually run a wider tape at the approx. lap line + the width of the tape I will you for the cutlap, then use my diy scribe tool to draw the cutlap line on the first tape, then tape the final cutlap tape on the line.. works great, no need of scratching the lam, no pencil marks on the lam etc.. :) anyway, nice vid man! Btw. how many OZ is this carbon cloth? I lammed with carbon some time ago for the first time and I am stoked how the board came out even though I was kinda affraid about hand lam the carbon haha:)

    היי קובי שאלה מקצועית אחרי ששמת בד והתייבש עשית מיד גלאסינג לגלשן .לא צריך לשייף את הבד קודם ?

    • @kobymaymonsurfboards7320
      @kobymaymonsurfboards7320  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      לא מה פתאום, הבד מחוספס וככה זה אמור להיות, כשאתה עושה גלאסינג אתה אמור להשתמש בכמות חומר מדויקת ו״לסחוט״ את הבד כמו שצריך, אחרי 24 שעות עושים הוט קוט, מה שכן צריך לשייף זה מקומות שיש כפילויות בבד מהקיפולים

    What is eps or pu

    • @AlleyTrashBoards
      @AlleyTrashBoards 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      EPS stands for expanded polystyrene (kinda similar to styrofoam) and PU is Polyurethane. PU boards are more “traditional “ and are typically glassed with polyester resins. The PU foam is also closed celled making is less prone to getting waterlogged. EPS is much lighter than PU making for ultra light boards, but you have to use epoxy resin or you will melt your blank.

    • @kobymaymonsurfboards7320
      @kobymaymonsurfboards7320  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Always EPS
      I never use pu for any of my boards

    I keep seeing these carbon fibre……they’re not..they are resin boards with a carbon cover no where near as strong or light like carbon….so it’s not a carbon board…….

    • @kobymaymonsurfboards7320
      @kobymaymonsurfboards7320  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree - it is light because the core is lighter and the carbon much stronger
