RIP the dynamic duo of Steve and Eydie. They were married for 55 years. She passed away in 2013 and he passed away on 7 March 2024. They're singing together again. Prayers for the repose of their souls.
Your comment is a lovely tribute to a pair of timeless singers. I NEVER get tired of listening to their recordings, and they were never better than when performing the work of my adored favorite composer, Mr. Irving Berlin! I hate the fact that Steve had to spend over a decade without Eydie...at least, he's alone no longer🥹
Amazing talents, individually and collectively. Beautiful voices, impeccable lyric interpretations, and an ability to harmonize like no couple before or since. Together again... R.I.P. Steve and Eydie.
You were literally brought to joyful tears by the ultimate talent demonstrated by these two angels of pure music. Dismiss philosophers, psychologists and wannabe scientists... this is absolute proof that God exists. Pure art Pure beauty Pure human expression
Absolutely love Steve & Eydie. They're a dynamo and rest assured they're entertaining all of our loved ones who have passed on in heaven. Whether in the physical or spiritual world their music and talent will live on forever in our hearts.
Simply the best! Individually, they were amazing talents. Together, the pair was nothing short of magical. Their love of the music... and each other... always made for beautiful memories that will be their legacy.
Its pretty amazing when you think of how many of these songs were introduced by Ethel Merman on the Broadway stage via either of the two musicals she starred in, Annie Get Your Gun, or Call Me Madam. Its as though she sang the entire score full of hits both times.
By the way, this is likely 1983. The announcer says at the end that Steve & Eydie had recently celebrated their 25th anniversary. That would have been December 29, 1982.
You are right @BrunetteOnTheCouch Eydie Gorme was a phenomenal singer! Her career was already taking off before she met Steve. She adored her husband and never tried to outshine him, but she could kick anyone's butt in the singing department if she wanted to. Check any of the videos on TH-cam where she was a solo guest singer. She brought the house down! Steve himself always said that she was the better singer of the two of them. Steve had a truly beautiful voice, and when his hits stopped coming Eydie's career remained stellar. She was huge in Latin America. Growing up bilingual her Spanish was perfect and they loved her. I saw Steve & Eydie in person many times and they were wonderful people, both really good looking in person. I heard Eydie sing in person when she was close to 70 years old. Her voice was still stunning, so powerful! Most famous singers can no longer sing well when they are that age. There will never be anyone like her ever again and she is greatly missed!!!
What a very nice posting! Steve adored her as well. Always looking at her when singing duets. I know when Eydie was struggling with her health in later years Steve was always by her side. It such a loss that Steve passed away. I heard he didn't know people at the end. Dementia is a terrible disease.

Ella toda una Princesa y el todo un Gentleman.
This is Symphony Hall in Boston, Massachusetts, with John Williams conducting. These concerts used to be broadcast on the PBS television network.

Two magnificent talented Jewish artists singing songs by a genius Jewish writer yet the world wants us dead. 🇦🇷

And how many of these songs were written for Fred Astaire.
They were a perfect duo rest in peace you are now all together now and with your son

They were a pure, talented, in love and untarnished by Hollywood.
I remember seeing them on TV and they announced they were engaged to be married
Like all masters of their craft, they made the difficult look easy--but...try to sing anything like Eydie...just try...❤❤
Beautiful couple❤❤❤❤❤
Jimmy Durante songs
RICĤARD HEEP
There is something more, after this, I know
Dinah Shore announced their marriage on her show in the late 1950’s.
Eydie sings the theme song to "Birds of a Feather" whodda thunk?!?🎩
A chorus line
Eydie has an adequate voice. Lawrence is spectacular.
Play some more Eydie. You may change your ming.
@@paragod333 Equal to maybe Doris Day or June Christy, but no Sarah, Barbra or Garland.
@@mga2899Eydie was Judy's favorite singer. Eydie's voice was phenomenal. Absolutely up there with Barbra.
Without Steve, she would be stuffing cannoli at a New York bakery.@@BrunetteOnTheCouch
She was very good. Steve was great. Blending together they were great. That did great shows together.
