I've watched these Proclamation ceremonies from various areas here on TH-cam and was part of another 2. At all levels from the first Proclamation outside St James' Palace to the Parish Council or a town crier in a pub all say exactly the same, except the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire

Stick to your beautiful traditions British people. I say this with a lot of love but as your country is dwindling in importance in the world these traditions are really something that many many many people look up to all around. Don’t lose it you will just lose yourselves

Oh my word - I just finished listening to Cambridge honouring our King Charles III, and now as I listen to him being honoured at Oxford, no disrespect, but both these VIP's sound like Americans! Are the Americans now in charge of our two oldest Universities??? Is it all about money??

They're both Canadians, he's their King as well

@@H4XORS1111111 Marjorie Neasham Glasgow is actually from the US (Houston and California), not Canada. She's the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire -- nothing to do with Oxford University. It's a pity they could not find a British person for the role but Americans are very persistent and get everywhere.

@@H4XORS1111111 The Lord lieutenant is a dual citizen. She was born in the US and married to an Englishman.

i have solved grand unification, proved the infinite material expansion of the universe and your role in it, and have given you the tools you need to prove it absolutely.
    Ologyicistics.
now let us improve our Arys and Orys.
and keep GOD above in our songs and our stories.
    GOD always above.

In old times without modern media that was the only way to spread such important news. Tradition still remains. Also they are part of local (county) authority and this way they accept His Majesty as a new sovereign.

It is not, it is a tradition.

Very little is necessary, but it would be a bleak world if we only did the minimum.
