The escape from the dog pound in _Homeward Bound_ is supposed to be a thrilling, exciting scene, even though the animal control guys are just doing their jobs and they already called the family to come pick them up. They tricked us into rooting for the pets actively working to NOT get reunited with their family.

(God Himself sends the angels to make the kid's dream come true, which implies that God is kind of a dick.) oh yeah and at the end of the movie we find out Tony Danza is going to die before the start of the next season, so he's apparently playing major league baseball while suffering advanced lung and heart failure
