Played a show with him back in the 90's (when Klaus Fluoride of the Dead Kennedys was his bass player) and he was a hoot! One of the most memorable shows of my life! Thank God this man entered the music industry because his shows were off the hook!!!
Saw him twice in Toronto 1989... still have the Bootleg Tape I made of one show, an awesome performance, Fun and Funny. Thanks for your research and presentation.
I am always amazed when anyone who is really into music, has NOT heard of The Ledge!!!!!! He did the greatest ever introductions to the whole genre of Pyschobilly!!!!!! Paralyzed was a stone cold classic!!!!
T Bone Burnett was the drummer on the Laugh-In performance. On some of the other live footage, Kid Congo Powers played guitar and Patricia Morrison played bass.
In the mid 1980s, he performed at the second “Primitive Night” at Bethesda Maryland’s Psyche Delly. I was in a band that was also on the bill that night. His performance was unforgettable!
Back around 1970 a friend of mine won a contest put on by a local radio station. Her "prize" was a box full of 45 singles that the station was NEVER going to play. She gave them all to me. It was all junk except for "Paralyzed" by The Ledge. It was my introduction to weird music (I was 15) and I never looked back.
This is the second topic in two days that you've covered that I'm over the moon about. Subscribed! PS: Are you familiar with the Reverend Fred Lane? I think he'd be a fantastic subject.
His speaking voice reminds me of thr front man in the King of the Hill cartoon show. Some of the intonation in the quiet songs reminds me of Colorblind James. Perhaps he was a fan of The Ledge?
I saw him perform in the late 80's when his opening act...or was it the other way around?.... was Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys. It was Psychobilly and Pornobilly all in one night. It was...amazing. If you liked The Legendary Stardust Cowboy... Then you _need_ to look up Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys. It seems like hat someone stole the name on Spotify. But he did a Joan Rivers show at one point and his music might be on TH-cam. ... you'll know it when you hear it....and see it.
...I thought this documentary/artist was a joke, then When I traveled to space on Elon's last rocket ride, I heard this guy in space and I learned it wasn't a joke. (since NASA is to broke or covert to go to space anymore)
He lived on my street in Vegas in the 80s. He was a character, and a really nice guy.
What i love is that he never got better at his instruments.
being good at instruments is thoroughly overrated

Cant fucking believe this Guy? Klaus Flouride and kid kongo powers?
Awesome! This is one one my favorite TH-cam channels!
...Not Albania??
No class to them frikkin' Albanians.
Just when you think you've heard it all, along comes Tome to educate us. Great job!
Kewel, not many vids about him.👍✌️
...6:36 .....Sounds like, Homer, on the "Simpson's"
Do you mean Hank Hill from King of the Hill?
@ ....Either way, both of these adult cartoons were preceded by this musical artist. Whose to say those voices aren't copyrighted
@@dakotakoll-is3rg...Listening again, I agree with you. Hank it is
This dude is dope. Thank you for sharing.

This guy's real.... Screw Elon Musk
screw the windpipe of elon's beheaded torso
I saw him play in the early 80s at the Aberdeen hotel in Melbourne, supported by the corpse grinders . A very different gig 😊
Love him. What a legend.
He had a space horse called Haggis.
More information, pleeeaase!
I got a girl way cross town, she won;t love me less she pulls the shades down,
In the mid 1980s, he performed at the second “Primitive Night” at Bethesda Maryland’s Psyche Delly. I was in a band that was also on the bill that night. His performance was unforgettable!
I bet THE CRAMPS love him
Reminds me of Bob Dylan.
Word.
In what way?

Have two albums of this guy and no way I'll trade them in for any Bowie record, LSC rules 😁🤘🤘
It's like being entertained by Andy Kaufman's Tony Clifton. Except funner.
Clifton was an exaggerated a-hole; this guy is hyperbolic joy

fred lane! i second that
Norman sounds like he should be a propane sells man.
A collaboration with Capt Beefheart,Zappa and the Ledge would have blown up the airwaves!!!
David Borrow.
Second greatest single ever released (after A Girl Like You by Edwyn Collins).
I like this Stardust cowboy
Anyone Bowie found interesting must have been unique
It's true, Bowie buried the original. Whenever you googled Stardust in the early 70's, all you got was Bowie :(
"Paralyzed" reminds me of "Sex Bomb" by Flipper
Sex bomb baby yeeeeeaaaaahhhh!
He played with some stalwarts here in Australia..I think it was on tv too.
He's way more country cowboy than Garth Brooks. I mean, he even sounds like a cow singing.
Even the hats are on steroid like the cows.
Good too see someone talking about the legendary one..he rules..that trumpet😅
His speaking voice reminds me of thr front man in the King of the Hill cartoon show. Some of the intonation in the quiet songs reminds me of Colorblind James. Perhaps he was a fan of The Ledge?
A True Master of Nonsense!
Also check out Jon Wayne (not _John Wayne_ ) as well as Brak ex Space Ghost.
Brill every credit to Stardust Cowboy 👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Only the 60's could produce an act like this.
that's not true at all, unless you're being pedantic about the technology
Nonsense
5:38....Sounds like Johnny Cash or Del Reeves ("Girl on the Billboard" song)
Awesome ❤
i fw dude heavy
3:13 is that alex trebek
Bowie should not have made fun of him. The musicians tried to keep up with him so it wasn't completely a mess. I found some songs at least interesting
Dad is that you?
I bet he also gangster of love
Sorry, despite being someone who has purposely listened to Wesley Willis on multiple occasions, I can’t even finish this.
Whoo ee Aah Aah!!
Me watching video: A country and western weirdo...must be from Texas.
Video: Yep, from Texas.

I've just gone through my records.......
Yes l have an album 🤣
👍👌🤙🫰
Bowie was kind enough to even mention this talentless dude
He was punk way before it was cool.
Angel dust cowboy would have made more sense
30 COUNTRIES LUBBOCK TX OK
