It’s quieter, but this video wasn’t filmed on a Saturday, it was filmed the previous Thursday. We generally film videos and upload them a few days later. Also though it may have been some schools half term break, so it’s definitely not as busy as you would expect it could be.
There's nothing there anymore. The guild Hall has been close for a number of years but dos get used for university use when thay need it. Was a nice little town with plenty of mixed shop brand names and quite alot of independent shops as well. Just high-rise flats being built anywhere thay can build one. Be rented put to students. Nothing to do with covid been going down about 15yrs ago when the only plan is to cater for accommodation for students. Fishergate everything's gone. Only coffee shops seem to open up. And the fishergate centre is being knocked down. For what tower block. Primark would have to move because it's part of the centre.
No shops only Specsavers ,pubs ,betting not worth vissit cost library closed due to lack of books .conservatives wisdom how to wreck town .labour wisdom how to help them liberal I'll do what they say
I dont understand why Preston gets such a bad rep It's quite nice compared to other Northern towns, I grew up in Preston thinking it was a really rough place because of what people said about it until I travelled around to other places, cough cough Rochdale lol.
I think Preston is a great place. Sure it has rough parts, but so does every town. I have never visited Rochdale but I have heard about it😅 Preston has some fantastic architecture and the museum is lovely.
I live here and it's always been crap I'm seventy five now I don't expect it to improve .though the market given rights to hold one by king John used to be exelant I remember the banter from the stakeholders and the good you could buy a chicken live ,or dead, with or without feathers ,now only a small number one of each trade given no competition or choice and costly somebody's got to pay for the councils plan to fuck up town center.
What a dump. Preston has nothing to offer. Guild hall closed and has been for quite a while, most of shops closed down, indoor market pulled down. Not the city it once was.
Yes it is a shame, we miss some of the shops and guild hall too used to enjoy even walking through there from the attached car park - through the glass walkway. We are looking forward to the Harris museum opening again next year that should be good it’s a lovely building, but it’s true it has declined as have a lot of places, sign of the times 😕
looks quiet and saturday is supposed to be the biggest shopping day.

Yeah it’s a shame it’s happening in lots of places the high streets are declining, had no idea they were thinking of knocking down fishergate centre 😮

You don't live here that's why
i lived here from 1980 to 1989 and it was very lively. but when they banned smoking in pubs, and raised house prices 300%. it completely collapsed.
@@The_PuddleDucks 80.1 international crime index score is more than 'rough parts'.
I would visit Preston if I did not live four hours away in Basingstoke 🙂
