I absolutely love this video! I feel like artists don't show or talk about their mistakes if they make some in a painting or any work of art. However, you talked about your mistakes, fixed them, and explained how anyone can prevent making them too. In the end the painting still turned out absolutely fabulous and many would even consider it hyperrealistic! The information you also gave in this video, whether it was about preventing making the mistakes or just some simple painting tips, were incredibly helpful! The overall vibe of the video was also very lovely and calm. Thank you for making a video like this, and I wish you the best!
Hi Nikolay, thank you SO much for this amazing comment and for watching!!! I make so many mistakes, all. the. time. I’m so happy you found it helpful and I appreciate your kind words about the final painting, you made my day!!!

Absolutely love this, especially since I live by the American Rocky Mountains. How do you pick the color for your underpainting? Why brown? Can I use another color?
Hi Priya, you are so lucky to live close to the Rockies!!! So for this painting, because it was dominated by blue, I went for the quinacridone nickel azo gold tone because I wanted the complementary opposite to warm up the canvas. For the actual underpainting, I used burnt umber because it’s my absolute favorite. Burnt umber, or really any of the earth tones, are pretty traditional and artists have been using them for centuries. I like it because it’s dark enough that you can see it clearly when adding your first layer, but still provides color and warmth to the painting. You can absolutely use any color that you want! I have experimented with a few different tone colors, but I always come back to warm ochres or earth tones. But there are many prolific artists who use wide variety of undertone colors! My earth tones are pretty safe, but if you want to experiment, you should definitely try out some different colors on a canvas board or panel where you can do a quick study to see if you like how it turns out before committing to a larger canvas. I hope this helps, happy painting! 🥰
Great question! For this piece, it was about 2-3 weeks of steady work if I were to line it up all at once, but I chipped away at it for a few months before finishing!
Burnt umber acrylic paint, thinned down with water ☺️ the pencil crayon didn’t want to adhere to this surface because I applied my undertone directly to the canvas instead of mixing it with the gesso, and it was too glossy to draw on. Out of frustration I grabbed some paint and threw the drawing on but forgot to film it! 🤦♀️
Madam, were you the one who did the preparation work? thank you for telling us, best regards Madam, were you the one who did the preparation work? thank you for telling us, best regards😊
Yep! The undertone is quinacridone nickel azo gold, and the drawing was added with burnt umber paint. I do everything on my channel, no paint by numbers here 🥰
I Love it the that paint women ,more if she is beautul , i paint but i havent studio ,i do in my room and this is little ,i paints almost on the bed , i love the art But is expensive , the good brush and the better paint , other thing in my country the art is not valuary , obviously !!! with the 70% population of half class with salary under $520 dollars , the People priorice eat and not art ,Chile and South América , live being artist is starves die
Stop making excuse. Your country has great natural resources for making your own paint for free. Go primitive. Hunt and grind rocks into pigments. Use oils from plants or learn how to process discarded cooking oils into clean oils for your fine ground pigments. No need for lots of colors. A few earth colors can make great art. Be creative. You can paint onto any discarded item. Make your own brush and utensils fom leaves, rags, sticks. You will be amazed at what you can do. Many times limitations can help to create better art. Persistent! Put up the fight. Figure it out!

Thank you so much, Kendra!!! And YES our landscape is so stunning!!! 🏔️🖤
Lovely painting. I think the Prussian blue trees harmonised with the slightly green water better than the bluer trees did, good save on that one 🙂.
