    Thank you for this video Dr. William, John and Lareese❤. Two questions:
    1. How soon after tummy tuck should you start this programme?
    2. How long (days/wks/mths) should you stay at each stage before progressing to the next level?
    Thanks again

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      6 weeks to start
      move at your own pace through the levels. It is different for everyone. The main thing to do is to start the program and be consistent.

      Do you recommend walking on the treadmill or step master after the 6 weeks?

    Thank you Dr. William and Coach Sinclair for putting this fantastic program together for us. It’s so thoughtful, well presented and produced. I think this is so valuable for people at all levels and stages of fitness because it serves to achieve that aesthetic look we want but eventually attain the function that we need for every day life. I’m so grateful, I have a really weak core and I’ll be implementing the exercises starting with Level 1’s today. Prepping for a future tummy tuck! 😊

      Excellent! I will let John know. Good luck with the program and good luck with your tummy tuck recovery! I would restart the exercises 6 weeks after your TT.

    Heck. If I did this I’m sure I wouldn’t need a tummy tuck 🤣

      Exercise is very, very important to getting the shape you want but people have a tummy tuck to remove excess skin and that can't be changed with exercise. Some things can't be corrected in the gym and some things can't be changed in the operating room but when you combine the gym with plastic surgery you really have something. Watch this video on the gym and plastic surgery. Here is the link:

      People get tummy tuck to get rid of extra skin. You can do all of the workouts that you want to do in the world. It will never get rid of extra skin.

    Great exercises!! One could also sign up for 3 months of Pilates. Do 6 weeks before surgery (@3 times a week), freeze your account and then another 6 weeks after you're cleared to exercise. You'll likely love Pilates so much you won't want to quit. All of these exercises are done in Pilates except maybe the exact standing series he showed here, but we do have standing exercises is Pilates. It's amazing how creative we can get with exercises to really challenge the body while minimizing injury.

      @@DrWilliamMiamiI wish I was living in Florida. You would have definitely been my surgeon. Circumstances didn’t allow me to travel out of state. I actually follow your instructions. I’m 4 months post tummy tuck and my surgeon just told me to start core. I feel like I have gained weight in my stomach from lack of exercise in that area even though I lost weight from 168-152

    • @sedial8929
      @sedial8929 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@kaweewinstheworld I know this post is old, but for those reading it now, I have been given the same instructions. Just to encourage you, four months isn’t that long to wait to guarantee not having to repeat a procedure or fix anything that might happen by starting too soon. From everything I’ve read adding and researched, what is comfortable is OK, but to avoid core work for 4 months. My guess is that they have to tell people that so those who aren’t used to working out or know how to do it correctly don’t hurt themselves. Also likely because everyone starts from a different level fitness prior to their surgery. I’m seven weeks postop and there is no way I could do most of what is on this video. I look forward to incorporating it when I can.

    I'm just over 3 months post op and struggling with the alternating leg/arm thing at the beginning. Even just holding my legs up/doing leg raises/flutter kicks is so much more difficult than it used to be. Although I've always had poor abs. My whole abdomin will be shaking when I'm trying to do these workouts (but I'm not in any pain) is that normal? Should I keep working out past the shaking?

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Shaking just means you are stressing your muscles. That's a good thing. Stick with the exercises and the shaking will go away.

  • @angelamatlock6864
    @angelamatlock6864 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Seems like (on the TT discussion threads) there are so many opinions about ab workouts post muscle repair. I was told 6 months before any major ab workouts. This says after but when? You can't even stand all the way up for so long!

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Everyone is going to give you a different answer because there's no good data for us to then rely on but for me I like everyone to go back and start doing their exercise six weeks after surgery. The reason I say six weeks is that the strength of the incisions in the strength of the abdominal muscles are, 90% of their final strength at that six week mark and so it's safe to work out and I think it's better to work out early as you recover as it speedy recovery helps to get rid of fluid.

    Dr. Williams your videos have been key to my recent tummy tuck journey. I’m 5 weeks post op today and will be implementing these workouts. Question, I’m also incorporating cardio. Would increasing my heart rate during my cardio session, influence my results in a negative way?

      It depends on each person. Start at 30 seconds and see how that feels and see if you need to increase or decrease the amount of time between sets. It depends on your cardio fitness so that's the reason for the variability.
