I met him at Costco in Van Nuys years ago and he was at the deli and I saw him and I said I was a fan and took the time to speak with me and asked me questions about myself what a great guy!!
Did you suck him off ?
Hello are you also one of my true supporters out here?
Love Paul. These stories are meaningful for kids / those of us who grew up in the 70s 80s and 90s. Thanks for sharing Paul! So real.
Hello are you also one of my true supporters out here?
I've never been a KISS fan but I did get to meet Paul Stanley and he was a really down to earth, terrific guy.
He's a dick. Been lip syncing shows since 2018.
@@annex4398
But in spite of his voice problems fans who love KISS still went to live concerts.
@ Half of them didn’t know what was going on. Paul Stanley is a self righteous fraud.
I really appreciate Paul Stanley's perspective and appreciation for fans. Says a lot about him and his success.
They certainly didn't let themselves depend too much on luck … they were way to smart for that
He has zero appreciation for fans. He has exploited them, not appreciated them.
@@iSiberianHusky
Don't forget, fans make their own decisions.
Whatever you buy, accept your own responsibility.
Blaming others of "exploitation"🤣 sounds paranoid (shabby).
He seems like a pretty open guy. I'm not a big Kiss fan, but there's something about him that makes me want to listen when he talks. Very engaging.
You get the feeling that he gets it. When you've been around that long, you did something right.
@@wallypalmer4704 kinda sorta maybe engaging. Like it could be cool to chat with him on a plane flight, or in a terminal waiting around. But seriously though... their music sucks
I feel the same. Never really got into them, but this guy has lived the dream and is very thoughtful and insightful about it. Versus 95% of the other meatheads in the music industry who made music because they couldn't do anything else.
He seems very lay back
Yeah I was thinking the same thing
Paul is a class act, no BS at all.
Ehhhhhh, read his book and look at the pictures in Aces book. Paul’s a conniving lying egotistical jerk
He could teach John Mellencamp a thing or two about how to treat fans or rather how not to.
You've got to be joking.
I like Paul but he always gives very measured, often rehearsed responses. But then again, he’s basically been answering the same questions for 50 years
@HappyMachorino-bd8no He is a pathological liar, a back-stabber, a credit-stealer, a lip-syncer, and a bitch.
But other than that, you're absolutely right.
Paul my man... I'm 45, been listening to Kiss for all those 45 because of my dad... thanks for your commitment, with your craft, your art, and with us, your unconditional fans.
He seems so grounded and wise.
Paul Stanley is an ICON!
No!
He is. 👍
I’m an absolute HUGE KISS fan, and once I got a chance to meet Paul, and we talked about music for over a hour! Not even kiss, just about The Beatles, Pantera and how much Dime and Vinnie loved them, and just our favorites!
Where did you meet him
How much did you pay for that interaction?
@@monkeyfx in the toilet floating next a few other turds
@@chrishubbell3313 Calm down, Chris.
I love Paul and the tone of voice he speaks could listen to him all day long talk about anything. He is a legend 🙌
Does he make you sleepy 😴
I just love his voice. I'm sure if he was talking into my ear i could fall asleep his voice is very smooth and sexy 😍
Paul is a good storyteller.
Holy crap Paul Stanley with Steve-O!!! So cool!!! Damn Paul has an incredible memory.
Giving gratitude to bill was classy..thanks paul
Kiss and Paul, are once in a lifetime iconic rock n roll gods. So good to see Paul still in great health and w a sound mind. Bill Aucoin managed my band in NYC also, and he was an amazing soul. The brains behind Kiss and Billy Idol. True visionary!
Paul has the best perspective. Love his take on how to treat his fans!!!
Kiss has always been a part of my life. I was born in late ‘72 just like the band. I love everything glam and Kiss was the 1st and biggest influence in my life. Full leather, makeup, I’m 6’1” with 4” platforms. Any time, any event. Kiss Army for life!
Respect Paul!
I swear these clips are cut terribly, 9 minutes before we get to the Jane's Addiction shit
Thanks man
Thanks
Thanks for lookin out
what are these bot replys, for what purpose? testing?
Yeah agree and he's says Howard Stern is trash
Like them or not, Paul and Gene are from a generation of entertainers that sincerly understood the job was to make the fans happy.
...until it came to retaining Peter and Ace and their original sound. :)
@@AAAA-lt9hqthat made the fans happy at first , it was excellent seeing Connie Vincent and Eric car new costumes , no one cared about cat man really or ace in the 80’s
@@humanactivated1017 I would say the first mistake they made was around "Dynasty" when they went to a disco sound and then did the solo albums. Then it was to "Music from the Elder" and just got worse.
There were a lot of cooks in the kitchen, big competing egos, and problems around 1980 and it didn't get better for a few years.
You'll find people (mainly guitarists) who are die hard Ace guys no matter what and find anything after "Love Gun" to be of lesser quality.
Their 80s work had some great pop-oriented hair metal stuff, but I don't think they found their edge again until "Revenge." "Psycho Circus" gave them a late career boost. I thought "Monster" would get more attention as their last album but no one seemed to notice.
So it's more of a "What era of Kiss do you like?" thing than anything. Same with Sabbath or Priest.
Paul is a class act and someone to be admired. As I life long KISS fan it's heart warming to see him still as a hero and someone to look up to. I admire the way he has always conducted himself and his loyalty to his fans by making sure he gives the the most and always made sure they got their money's worth and were entertained. 🙂
I was born in 70. I had the Kiss dolls, and I'd take my sister's finger nail polish remover and take their makeup off because i wanted to see what they looked like without it 🤣🤣
😂
Same age as you. Gene scared the fuck out of me when i was a kid. Especially the Dynasty ad in Marvel Comics. Same impact as the robot on Queen's News of the World album.
That's awesome 😂
Hahaha that's a great story
@thedonofthsht76-58
My older sister asked, you sure you wanna do that? I said, how else will I know? She was like... carry on~
Love or hate KISS as a band, they were true professionals when it came to giving fans their money's worth at their concerts.
I am not a kiss fan and can’t stand their music but Paul’s attitude towards the fans is refreshing and awesome
Black diamond. Listen to it
Like with ACDC, Kiss (at least in their early classic period) took the rock 'n' roll element of stuff like the Stones, Who, rhythm & blues, etc., and made it pure, undiluted. Many people don't like it, and that's great, but I'll never understand actual fans of rock/hard rock who don't enjoy Kiss' music.
@@dr.juerdotitsgo5119I love rock music from the 50’s to the modern day but I don’t like KISS one bit. I don’t see how it’s hard to understand different people like different things. Pretty simple
@@davidbonilla7770 Just making conversation. Perhaps you could've mentioned some aspects of Kiss that you don't like, instead of being defensive.
@@dr.juerdotitsgo5119 I don’t like their music that’s the only aspect I don’t like
My friend was the late luthier Steve Carr who was guitar tech for KISS in the late 70's and early 80's. He built Ace's mini Explorer and Paul's Star guitar. Paul wasn't to keen on the star guitar. Steve always had nice things to say about Paul. He really took pride in working for one of the biggest bands in the world. Miss my friend.
This guy's a legend
Always liked Paul always a great interview, and after all these years it seems like he's still down to earth and humble
Great interview with a legend.
This was a GREAT interview !!!
Great American work ethic. They knew how to last and kick ass. Doesn't matter if you like them or not!
Damn straight
So clever, I keep enjoying KISS music! 🥰🥰🥰
What an articulate and thought response. Great interview
Spoken like a true professional.
I’m not a Kiss fan but this guy is super classy. What a first rate rockstar and all around good guy it seems. 👍🏽
I photographed his Wedding , he was a class act. Actually super cool to everyone. Gene not so much, making inappropriate jokes, but that’s Gene.
@@latentsea
It seems like Gene would be like that. Just from the interviews I’ve seen of his.
7:50 doesnt even flinch at steve-o getting kicked out of a kiss concert for blowing flames. legend.
I wish Paul had talked about that incident instead of jumping straight to the origin of Gene's fire breathing. I think Steve was really looking forward to hearing Paul's response to his story, and there wasn't one.
But Steve-o already discussed this incident with Gene not long ago
Most likely Paul avoided to comment what Gene already commented.
@@HappyMachorino-bd8no, Paul could have still given his own reaction.
@@StarfieldRailway
Honestly, Steve-o acts as if he did something so great and he was the star of the show.
Paul is like a father who ignores the stupidities of his kid.
What a great interview ❤

I wasn’t a kiss fan, but Paul is like Alice Cooper where both are interesting, intelligent and have so much experience to talk about. Such good historians
You can be fans or not, that does not matter but this man is intelligent, exemplary and honest. I love his personality and his respect to speak, he is an honest and class man. For me he is an example to follow in everything. Thank you Paul for everything you have done God bless you always
Paul kicks ass, always has, always will.
Paul doesn't give a FUCK about Steve-O blowing fire and getting kicked out of a KISS show in 97!!
Lord help him if he had a laser pointer though hahaha.
Paul Stanley has always been about Paul Stanley, but I thought that with Steve'os little nugget of understanding, Paul would at least be "oh, no shit! That's really cool! " But nope...Paul dismissed the shit out of Steve.
@@johnobrien5037 F Paul. Lol j/k what ya expect? He's been in a shitty circus band for 50 years. He was hoping to make it 5
Don't blame the dude that's there to be interviewed, he either didn't understand what Steveo said or just continued with his own story cause that's what he's there for...

Paul Stanley: " we learned about applying the make-up as we went along"
Steve-o : "I learned about it when I went to Ringling brothers clown college"
Paul Stanley: "No shit. That's not something you hear everyday."
It's not that difficult and these aren't interviews like "60 minutes". They're more like conversations on podcasts where those no real time limit.
Great interview
Wow. Paul is such a humble, down to earth man.
Love Paul. I can’t believe two childhood heroes are in the same room.
Hello are you also one of my true supporters out here?
My favorite part is when they talked about Jane’s addiction. Very informative and I appreciate the lengthy conversation.
Always great interviews with Paul.
God bless this man he absolutely KILLLED it in Seattle during their last tour what a vampire dude 🤘🧛
So funny Steve-O describes spitting fire at a KISS concert and Paul S is unaffected like it's an everyday occurrence!
In Paul's book he talks about how Bill Aucoin was a "TV guy". He had a lot of great ideas based on TV experience - like having a video camera in 1974 pointed at the band while they rehearsed so that they could actually SEE how they moved onstage - this eventually led to the synchronized moves, etc.
I read his book and really enjoyed it.
9:12 before they get to talk about the videos title.
Your the realist lol
He has a soothing voice!
Amazing these old rockers are alive
I was never a fan of their music, but the older I get the more I respect their level of professionalism displayed throughout their careers.
When the hell did Paul Stanley become an old hispanic lady?
It was about 30 years ago, I estimate.
Around the time they put the makeup back on
He's like 72 years old that's why 😮😮
Or an old Greek woman 😅
That’s messed up. Lol
I'm 71 and New York groove was the only song I liked not in the kiss army but I after this I'm a Paul Stanley fan
72 years old? 😳 Impressive
Paul is a class act
Good guy. Reasonable well thought out answers.
always loved listening to paul stanley tell stories -- always well-spoken & classy
Paul has always been my ultimate fave Kiss member. Cool interview w/Steve-O.
That tat above Steve's eye ruined and will continue to distract from every interview he does .... This is being sober? Take a lesson out of the Paul Stanley playbook of success. Love you Paul. Class Act. Total Pro. --
This clip shows just why they've been around 50 years. Regardless of what you or I may think about individual members of KISS, on stage they were ALWAYS consummate professionals
Never cared for KISS (seems like a band that appealed to kids in the 70s), and Gene Simmons is a pompous ass, but I enjoy listening to Paul tell stories about the band and the music industry. He's probably seen and done it all in 50 years.
Legend.
You know, I think Paul could’ve been successful at just about anything. He’s a very driven individual. Cool seeing him on.
In my youth. I had Every single album by Kiss. Except peter,s solo. Man i So wish i still had them. Such Great music
"I'll do it!" I bet Gene said that a lot 😂
9:20 is when they bring it up
Thank you!
He’s right 💯
Kiss is totally fair game for criticism for a lot of different shit but their first three albums, the ones released before they blew up, are each solid rock n roll gold from start to finish. No one can ever take that away from them. Their next albums were huge but Whatever happened to them after that is fair game to be picked apart for the rest of time but they legitimately were a really good rock n roll band
Kiss was the first band I saw in concert. It was in 1978 at the Chicago Stadium.
Paul’s the best!
I love the sound of Paul’s voice
This guy must have patience of a saint dealing with gene Simmons for all these years
He kept the band running while Gene tried to be a big Hollywood guy. He kept the band running while some of them were severe addicts. KISS is his life.
The Sage of Brooklyn! Love to listen to Paul talk all things KISS
Stanley: “…so luckily Gene never grew a third head, or even a second head”. Steve-o grins and ponders shaking his head “Ya”. 😆
Paul is a wise elder of rock - great guy
great interview :)
I always liked KISS as a gimmick, but wasn't a huge fan...or super familiar with their deep cuts. However....when I saw them on their last tour I was completely blown away. I knew it would fun to see them in the makeup, & hear some good classic rock. 100× better than I ever could have imagined.....felt like we got the full experience of KISS in their prime, and some of the best songs were songs I didn't know, that just rocked the house. By the end of the night it was one of the greatest concert experiences I've ever had. Right up there with Judas Priest, AC/DC, Sabbath & the original White Zombie. People call them sellouts....but even as seniors, they gave us every penny of our money's worth.....& then played for another hour. Kudos to them.
Always Liked Paul
Paul seems so humble.
As a kid in the 70s KISS was everywhere, I have to wonder if they were the first to capitalize off merchandise, I had a Kiss silk dress shirt with their faces all over it(with the huge collar, wore it my 1st grade picture lol), also had the Kiss lunchbox, couple other things I can't quite remember. Then they ditched the make up and rode the hair band wave through the 80s. I remember Ace Frehley saying how Gene and Paul came into the studio meetings wearing suits and briefcases, all business off stage.
One thing I always liked and respected about KISS was that they worked very hard to give their concert goers all of their money's worth. I saw them in October 1996 at the old Caps Center in Landover, Maryland. They delivered as advertised. Was one of the best concerts I've been to and yes, I got my money's worth.
god i wish steve didnt get that tattoo above his eye
Attention seeker...pretty silly
Yeah he's grasping at straws trying to stay relevant maybe. looks like a peanut now.
he'll probably get it lasered, it's just a line tattoo
Marketing gimmick lol
It looks like a penis
Paul Stanley...one of the brightest human beings in the music industry, in ANY genre of music. First time I ever saw them sit for an interview, was in '76, a little after 'Beth' became this huge thing.. I could tell Gene had some smarts, but he was extremely animated and intentionally distracting the interviewer, who was female, flicking his tongue all over the place. Paul didnt blink ...Criss just laughed at everything..and Ace, was damn near comatose..not speaking at all..just nodding. But Paul sounded like a college professor. And all I could think was, "bro, you missed your calling...you shoulda' been a corporate attorney"
I always thought Paul Stanley was thoughtful, relatively down-to-earth, and a countervail to Gene. The band was really kind of silly, but they had some good songs, and those guys made a ton of money.
Class act
Stevo looks so enthusiastic looking at the thumbnail photo
I wasn’t a big Kiss fan at all, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you who this was being interviewed by Steve O. With that being said, Paul Stanley is a down to Earth
individual and gives a great insightful interview. Seams like a very cool Dude!
As a kid and all these years later, its Paul talking about how KISS respected their fans that gets me ...'WE FUCKIN LOVE YOU (BOOOM!!!!) GOODNIGHT!'
This is just clickbait. 11 minutes for 1 question that was pertaining to the title. And it wasn’t even really about Janes addiction he just mentioned them in passing. Cmon Steve O
I agree that the title was misleading, but the rest of the video is good, it wasn't a waste of time, at least not for me
Steve “ I went to clown college “ o
Yeah it’s pretty clickbaity
Excuse folks, Paul Stanley is speaking
Thank you - I won't waste my time.
Say what you like, but this guy was an absolute GOAT of Metal. All hail
Paul is such a good, mellow dude.
I really appreciated what he said about his fans....yes, he is so right, we spend our hard earned money AND time, effort to see our favorite bands & singers. So the least they could do is be professional & give a good show!! I remember I was a Trace Adkins fan for years. I was so excited to see him live!! I was close to the stage & he came out & performed completely wasted!!! He was gyrating through the whole show, like he was so sexy & mumbled/slurred every song. I was so disappointed, what a complete waste of my time & money!!
