Honestly I don’t see Embarrassment being Bing Bong. They are definitely different characters and we all need to respect Bing Bong’s sacrifice. Rest in peace Bing Bong, we’ll never forget you.

Riley used to have bing bong when she was a child, but now is a teen and is embarrassed by it, but didn’t forget about it. That’s why there is some similarities to bing bong.
While I don’t think Embarrassment will resemble Bing Bong too much, I do believe Riley will remember him in some way when she’ll need it most.
They showed that she drew crayon pictures of him that she could still have, so maybe Riley could end up rediscovering him at some point.
Maybe even her lowest point in the movie

I don’t know about him returning, but I do feel Joy should eventually tell Sadness what happened to him. Maybe she should also tell Anxiety and the other new emotions as well

I can see embarrassment making a reference to Bing Bong. Like “it’s so embarrassing that we used to have such a corny looking imaginary friend.” Only to get an angry response from Joy and Sadness.

Joy did say at one point that she would have Riley remember Bing-bong. He could easily appear to Riley in a dream sequence without ruining his sacrifice in the original Inside Out.
That is an excellent thought! Bing Bong could even be a mentor for Riley through this type of communication. Or maybe some more old memories of Bing Bong will be brought up.

Yeah
I have wondered if something forgotten can come back. Like if she forgot about Bing Bong but then sees a picture she drew of him as a kid and her parents tell her about him, would he come back if she remembers? Or would she just not remember no matter how hard she tries. That posses the question was Bing Bong prior to his vanishing forgotten but could be remembered whereas after he vanished he would be gone-gone and Riley just can't remember him no matter how hard she tries.
I feel like she could because that would be the most realistic. Cause I know I have plenty of memories that I have forgotten but if something happens that opens up the possibility for me to remember it then I do. Like say Riley ends up looking through a photo album and sees a pic of her in his rocket and she’s like “awe my rocket” but then two days later she’s like “oh my god BING BONG!”

When I refer to Bing Bong being gone for good, I'm referring to something like a memory from when you were two or three. You're not going to remember something from that long ago, no matter how hard you try or what is shown to remind you of that time. Is that what happened to Bing Bong when he faded away, or is he just forgotten until Riley is reminded of him in some way, or was that already the case for him, and when he faded away, that was when he was forgotten forever like the memory of when you were two.

I've always had the idea that Joy will honor Bing-Bong's last request by getting Riley to become an astronaut and joining one of the missions to the moon. Once there, it's Sadness who has her make a figurine of him and puts it on an outside ledge of their habit. The scene ends with Riley admitted to another on her team that she didn't know why she wanted to do it while Joy is giving Sadness and warm hug as they cry.

His death was very emotional, and played a significant role in the story. Maybe as Isaac said, in a flashback or something would be okay.

Bringing back the Wolverine that died at the end of “Logan”. You just can’t undo a final and emotional scene like that, and the Yellow Suit Wolverine in Deadpool 3 will not be related at all to the one who died in Logan.

I know the movie hasn't come out yet but I already am hoping for at least two more movies of her as an adult and when she's old, really interesting to see that showing most of the adults shown from the first movie when it comes to the emotions inside their head, they're pretty miserable which is the opposite of what they show on the way they act or show on their face in the outside so that would be really interesting if they ever thought of making more as how more different it becomes as they grow up much older

Who knows. The developers did say that after the movie Joy kept her promise to help Ridley remember him and that it restored him so it's possible he could show up in some way. Either that or have him be in spin off meterial.
Imagine if Pixar made this ending: finally, after years of looking forward to, and some sacrifices along the way, Riley finally steps on the moon. She’s revealed to have brought the drawing of bing bong. She starts to tear up while looking at the drawing. “I did it, bing bong..” it’s also revealed that joy said the same thing.
I think Bing bong will return when Riley becomes adult, be alone and gets her own house

Guys I have a theory that Riley's parents arent happy. IDK if this has said already but Sadness is in control in her mother's mind and Anger is in control in her father's mind. Joy is in control in Riley's mind because she's happy (for now).

I noticed embarrassment's resemblance to Bing bong too! I thought for a moment that maybe it could be Bing bong somehow, but I don't think it would make sense for it to be exactly him. I'm thinking Embarrassment is big and pink because often when you're embarrassed, you blush (pink) and you feel exposed and unable to hind; and he can't as a large figure. A nod to Bing bong would be great though! Like if Riley comes across a childhood drawing of him

I wouldn’t say it would lessen the impact, it all depends that if Bing Bing does come back, it comes down to how the movie handles it, it could go many directions and I’m intrigued.

With this,I think that they might add nostalgia as an emotion.The whole theme of this movie will be growing up,and looking back at your childhood and seeing all the fun memories you made are important.I also see this because all the other emotions have new counterparts (anger=envy,sadness=ennui,fear=anxiety,disgust=embarrassment) but Joy doesnt.Nostalgia being her counterpart would make so much sense to me

I think if BingBong were to come back it would be breaking established in-universe rules, it would feel way more like fan service or a retcon.. Don't get me wrong, love the guy, but bringing him back would be unsatisfying.

I was literally just thinking something similar. For a part 3, that is. Riley could finally be experiencing adulthood. She could have a new car, a husband, you name it. And, by the end (or, close to the ending of the movie), she could get the opportunity to become an astronaut and fly to the moon. And, then Joy goes like, “Bing Bong… this one’s for you.” I dunno. It’s just a thought, after all, it was Bing Bong’s most recent plan to have an adventure with Riley. And, then, when he fades away in the Memory Dump, he says, “Take her to the moon for me, OK.” And Joy did promise him that she’ll try. What do you think?
P.S. I just came back from watching Inside Out 2 in the Watergardens cinema, and I 95% liked it. Sadly, Bing Bong’s not in it.
I feel as though Inside Out could be a 30 part movie the 10th movie could focus on Riley’s grandkids and them fitting in as a new family member is introduced or something

No. I don't think Bing Bong should come back, at least not fully. Maybe bring him back in a flashback or something like that, but not fully. Bringing him back would be a HUGE flipoff to the first movie and his heartbreaking fading away scene.
But maybe there's a scene where Joy remembers him saying "take Riley to the moon for me" and that's what motivates her to keep going or something. I also think the sequel should heavily focus on Joy and Sadness' dynamic more. A good sequel builds upon the protagonists of the first, and Joy and Sadness were the main protagonists of the first, so it would make sense if they are focused upon again.
I totally get what your saying! It would make sense to do that, I would love it if was more focused on the other emotions like Anger and Disgust and Fear, really to give them more of a character development too. But I do like that they’re having other emotions come into play.

there actually could be a chance for Bing Bong to return, you see Bing Bong is a imaginary friend, by the time he disappeared, Riley may be forget about him, but Joy and the others remembers Bing Bong, they can remind Riley through many ways: ex. dreams, anythings you forgot maybe for 10 years could be reminded just in a sudden
Maybe everything that faded away in the memory dump recycles into something new. For example the orbs that faded return to hold a new memory. So in a way bing bong was recycled/reincarnated into embrassment 🤔🤷🏽♂️

I'm guessing Bing Bong might come back, because in the dream scene in the original Inside out, Bing Bong appeared in Riley's dream. Since it happened about a year ago (depending on the timeline of the movie) Riley might renember him.
According to wiki Anxiety was there when Riley born, so it's possible to she and the others meet them before he died.
I personally feel like he shouldnt come back. I love bing-bong and he definitely left an impact in the first movie, that's why i dont want him to be reincarnated or return as the same/another character, it lessens the emotional impact and purpose(?) of his sacrifice to save riley and her emotions
