Yes I want to show the air fryer way for people who are looking how to poach eggs in the air fryer! I'll also make a video using a microwave for those people looking to poach eggs in the microwave :)
It’s also dangerous to microwave an egg. I had a cracked egg explode directly into my eye and cause a massive burn across the whole lid and down my cheek. Eye also went black. Don’t microwave eggs people. Ain’t worth it.
Ooh yeah!!! OK Melanie, I have the silicone cups and the ingredients, so I can't wait to try this! I think I'll have it with toast and some hash brown potato patties. 😃You have such wonderful ideas!
Yes! I also have a video for big air fryer omelette: th-cam.com/video/FjEK23rUJSE/w-d-xo.html and small ones that you mentioned: th-cam.com/video/iLhmn3E-huY/w-d-xo.html
Melanie, thank you for sharing more content lately. Fun Fact: My nephew and I learned how to use an air fryer by watching your videos. We felt like you made it seem so simple and easy to use, all in quick videos. He has since passed away, but I just want you to know that your channel will always be special to me. 🥹 💞
i love using my Ninja for all sorts of cooking, but a mug 1/3 full of water then crack a egg in an cook on full power for 60 secs, (may need to adjust depending on microwave power). simples :)
To much work. Add 1/2 cup of water to a microwave bowl. Crack your egg into it. Put in Microwave. Set timer to 55 seconds. Comes out perfect every time.
Yes microwave method is great, thanks for sharing! I want to show the air fryer way for people who are looking how to poach eggs in the air fryer! I'll also make a video using a microwave for those people looking to poach eggs in the microwave :)
Removing the "cups" with a metal spatula made me squirm. The non stick surface won't last long doing that. I have similar "cups" and just lower 2 into a saucepan of boiling water and turn the heat to simmer. Pop the lid on and 5-6 mins later, perfect poached eggs AND then turn them upside down and they should drop onto your plate or toast the correct way...with yolk down.
It’s nice to have options :) I have a lot of microwave recipes too, check them out: Microwave Recipes th-cam.com/play/PLxnfP_LRoakHIekCji23QH0rM8fymll_3.html
You took long time to crack eggs just bang egg on rim of cup to open and tip in. I tend to do this with eggs anyway just to make sure not off despite the date on box as an overripe one can get in a box as has happened to me.
I love most of your videos, but this seems like a dangerous way to do poached eggs. Thought you would get burnt after heating the water. I think most people who own an air fryer, would have a microwave oven, and poached eggs are much quicker and easier done that way. Other than that, keep showing us other air fryer vids.
It’s nice to have options :) I made this video specifically for people who are looking how to do it using air fryer. I’ll also make the one for the microwave soon!
Why not use boiling water. To heat up for 4mins would make the air fryer basket hot and then placing hands into basket to put the eggs in the cups could risk catching hands on the hot basket and receiving a burn. Majority of people have a kettle would it not be safer to put water and eggs in cups and place into the basket then into the air fryer.
Wow this has to be the longest around the block to the backdoor time method ever for poaching eggs and not to mention the power consumption and cost effectiveness for just 2 eggs. Hmmm🤔 I get where you're coming from using the Airfryer method, but I definitely wouldn't use it! I can poach 1 egg in 60 seconds using a room temperature egg and water, a Corelle rice bowl, 2/3 cup of water, 10ml of white vinegar. Microwave 1 minute on high. 'No Longer' without checking it's done or the egg might explode like Chernobyl did... A further 10 second bursts till your liking if needed. Cheers Melanie 😀👍
It's nice to have options :) I made this video for people who are looking for how to poach eggs in the air fryer. I'll be making another one for the microwave method :)
It never hurts to have the knowledge to do tasks in more than one way. You can't use a dead microwave to poach an egg. If you are cooking bacon in your microwave, your eggs don't have to wait their turn. Doing both at the same time, can actually save time. Just saying ... 🙂
The air fryer and microwave cannot be running at the same time. This will cause the electric circuit to break as too much current is being fed into that circuit.
I’ve had mine going at the same time many times and no issues… maybe some homes have a less modern electrical system if that’s an issue, I never heard of that though
@@MelanieCooksRecipes It depends on the situation, not the age of the system. Typically in the US, wall outlets are on either a 15 amp (older homes) or a 20 amp circuit breaker. A kitchen can have multiple circuits providing power to counter height outlets along a bank of cabinets, or a single circuit to power all. A electrician can identify which outlets are on which circuit, if you have multiple circuits in your kitchen. Generally, If you have your fryer and microwave on separate electrical circuits there is no problem. However, if both are plugged into the same circuit (usually multiple outlets on a circuit) there can be serious problems, if the power demand doesn't automatically trip the circuit breaker. Many heat producing electrical appliances use about as much wattage as a single circuit can safely handle. 15 amp circuit safe use amount is 1440 watts (80%) of total capacity of 1800 watts 20 amp circuit safe use amount is 1920 watts (80%) of total capacity of 2400 watts (electrical code is that usage shouldn't exceed 80% of total capacity of a circuit.) Check the wattage of your appliances. In the US it should be on a permanent label somewhere on the appliance. If the use of more than 1, at the same time, on the same electrical circuit exceeds the numbers above, it is not safe. Hopefully, the circuit breaker will trip before the wiring catches on fire. But that isn't always a guarantee.
Well, you've put me right off using that spray, not necessary. A little water would be better and a small bowl made of china or glass instead of something like that.
Impressive..........I will be trying this one. Thanks.
You are welcome! Hope you enjoy!
@davidrowland250 is missing the point. Not everyone has a microwave.Melanie is showing us how to do it in an air fryer and I thank her.
I think more people have microwaves than airfryers

Clever! I've made small omelets in my air fryer muffin forms. But I didn't realize you could poach eggs that way.

Mine have always been like jelly in the MW, or hard no in between. And I hate jelly eggs 😳
Thank you!
You are welcome!

Thank you Melanie now I can have my poached egg on toast😅❤
You are welcome!
YUM YUM!!!

Hope you enjoy! Please let me know how it turned out!
What kind cups are those
Thank You!!!
You're welcome!
my fryer is in centigrade, can you convert the time please
Here’s the temperature conversion calculator: www.metric-conversions.org/temperature/fahrenheit-to-celsius.htm
Oh my, that is interesting. I would need toast “fingers” for dipping. Thanks
I have a video for frozen french toast sticks in air fryer: th-cam.com/video/mEVayxUa7cI/w-d-xo.html
Very good.
But why not just boil water in the kettle first?
That's a great point! Boiling water in a kettle first is a great idea! Thanks for sharing your tip! 😊
To much work. Add 1/2 cup of water to a microwave bowl. Crack your egg into it. Put in Microwave. Set timer to 55 seconds. Comes out perfect every time.
And less risk of getting burned

Like how is your way any less work...not many ways, short of quiche that are very much work.

Looked a little snotty for my liking
Why didn't you put the seasoning into the water so the seasoning will be in the egg instead of on top?
Not a bad idea.
You could use boiling water and saved 4 min
It’s nice to have options :)
1 minute in the microwave job done same result.

Well I tried with my air fryer and it did not work all it did was cook the water out
Sorry it didn't work. I'm guessing it differs for different air fryer models and I just got lucky 😂
4 mins to heat the water, 6 minutes to do the eggs. 10 mins. 9 minutes on a hob.

Must use fresh eggs and be careful about getting pieces of shell in the ramekin.
Thanks for sharing!
Good way. Though I thought it really funny the way you kind went around the shell with a knife to open the egg, Just crack it, done. Thank you.
Lol I usually crack it normally like you describe, but this time I was extra careful not to break the yolk :)
Thank you for replying much appreciated ❤️

I can poach an egg using microwave from fridge to plate in less than 3 minutes, just saying.

Oven proof stoneware ramekins.
This looks fried eggs
They are poached, fried aren’t liquid in the middle
🌺👍👍🌺
Thank you!
i don`t think i can be bothered.
Lol then keep scrolling :)
Microwave is quicker and easier, and the egg looked a little bit snotty when the fork was lifted away
