OMG Thank you so much for this video. I've had x-wings before and have sadly had to sell them all but now I want to get one for my collection again. Unfortunately those x-wings now go for ridiculous prices. Also at that point it would be better to just get the brick vault moc and I'm not looking to spend that kind of money. So I've been contemplating this new set but wasn't quite sold on it until now. This looks so good and thanks to you I now know that it exists. So thank you again for this really great video. It was honestly such a great help.
You’re welcome! I also used to have the older 2018 version which was a superior model even though it was a bit pricy. But the newer version plus the MODs from Quarries Workshop makes a pretty perfect version I’m more than happy to display. If you decide to go ahead and get it then have fun building!
@@dunkandeggbricks After seeing your video I had a look through my collection at the parts needed that aren't in the set. I found the majority of the pieces needed with only a small number of parts needing to be ordered. That, combined with the set being discounted at my Walmart, means I can make this set for fairly cheap. Right when I wanted an x-wing again your video gave me a great option at a fair price. So thank you again because your video couldn't have been anymore perfectly timed and was very helpful.
Thank you! I think I paid roughly £15 for the extra parts I needed, but I did have a lot already in my collection. It’s definitely worth doing though as it’s a massive improvement on the original playset but still a well put together model which is sturdier than some of the more accurate MOCs out there
You know you could use the stickered tile pieces from the 2012 X-wing Set for the engines? I feel like that's an easier solution, but that's just how I modified my X-Wing. I just added the tiles, and it works for me. But that's just my two cents. Still a good video though
I’m sure you’ll be able to find something that works - I was impressed with how much of the original build was combined into the new version and I think it’s a great improvement
the gap between the wings (when closed) looks very much smaller than it was on the "real" 75301 set. is that an optical illusion, or the wings slopping down due to gravity, or did the designer really eliminate the gap?
From what I can remember of the original set (which sadly I can’t compare to now) the gap is the same - about half a plate. One change is that there is no longer a plate missing underneath the guns at the wingtips, so possibly it makes it look like they’re closer overall. Either way, the end result looks great!
Excellent review! I own his X-Wing (in Wedge’s markings) and it’s my favorite mod/moc of the X-Wing to date!

Hey ! Amazing vid !
How much exactly did u pay on parts from bricklink ? Did you have a lot of parts already in your collection ?

I just ordered pieces for modding my Red 5 X-Wing, which I’ve modded over the years. Wonder how I can blend my mods with this particular version.

@@dunkandeggbricks that's good to know. most of my mods are in the wings (tile markings rather than stickers) and cannons
I built the brickvault x-wing. I had to cut/modify ZERO parts; dunno why people keep lying about that
