Your discussion of scale is one that I get into on my own channel. When the scale of an object or a tree in the planting is wrong relative to another objects or tree in the planting, it creates a feeling in the viewer that something isn’t right. You may not be able to pinpoint the problem, but when you get it right, you know it. Thanks for the last 10 years. I watched almost all of your videos, some multiple times. I’ve learned so much from you. Here’s to season 11. Looking forward to the slight changes to the Bonsai Zone theme song!
Many thanks for a great year of education and entertainment. So much progress and lots of great projects. Each year, I learn so much. Best wishes to you and your family for a terrific 2024!!
An end to a great decade of the bonsai zone and the beginning of an even better one. Thanks for sharing Nigel and all the very best for the new year 👩🏻🌾🪴
Thank you for a great 2023, Nigel! I'm looking forward to the Bonsai Zone in 2024! I hope all the weaker trees will recover, and all the healthy ones keep thriving!
Happy New Year Nigel. It has been a pleasure to follow you. Many thanks for the Acacias updates. Looking forward to be delighted by your carisma and passion for horticulture. May God bless you and all your efforts.
Thanks for the awesome year, Nigel! You've inspired me to start this channel (soon), and I love seeing all the updates with your trees. That Ficus/strangler fig is just amazing!! I grew 3 desert rose from seed last spring, (donated by my Aunt in Key Largo) and they are growing like crazy but green as well!
Happy New Year, Nigel! I so appreciate your channel and the Bonsai Zone community. I don't get to make it to many premieres, but I watch every episode!
Hi Nigel! The Religiosa: Flush the Soil with pure Water (RO or Rain) without any fertilizer. At least 5 liters. It looks like there are to mutch fertilizer (mineral salts) in it which causes a nutrient and water lockout and a to low PH.
There is a small leaf variety of fiddle leaf fig called ‘ficus bambino.’ The leaves are about 1/3 the size of the larger leaf variety. I’ve started a larger size bonsai with bambino and it’s quite nice with a lot of branching.
Love love watching your videos! All so creative. Looking forward to progress of your plants in Zone 11. In regards to scarring the jade. I get that the intent is to replicate the gouging of elephant trunks. And it does that. The only watchout is that I don't feel an elephant could reach that high and gouging wouldn't be so straight. Just saying. But still awesome.
Happy New Year, NIgel! Thanks for all the content-and work- you put into your videos. They have entertained, educated and inspired me all year, and I have new ideas to try for 2024!
Happy New Year Nigel! 🎉 Thanks so much for all the bonsai lessons over the last few years, it has been great getting to know you!! Looking forward to Season 11!
Hey Nigel, My Premna sulks EVERY winter when it comes in, just rapidly drops all its leaves but it's always bounced back no problem. I'm sure it'll be back in shape in no time
Hey Nigel. Happy new year! Suggestion: have you tried packing the scars with cinnamon to help keep disease and bugs away as the succulent heals? Hope the scarring is successful this time!
Thank you very much for all the education and entertainment you gave me 2023 and the years before! Looking forward to 2024! In the plant room many trees look very happy. Do have plans to run the plant room in summer?
Thanks for all you do! What is the low growing plant in your warm greenhouse? It looks kind of vine-like with a couple pale flowers on it. It reminds me of vanilla.
In my head those trees are much bigger in scale, then that doll portrays. To me, a person would be the size of one of those small trees 😅 I think maybe figurines help with the scale for folk who struggle with it though. I think the scale with the large animals looked pretty good. Not so sure about the lady
HNY! one thing i dislike about jades is their extremely poor root base compared to the rest in terms of quantity, it nearly never loses that stick in a pot feel to me because of the lacking nebari. thats why i kind of disagree that it's a good bonsai species :P
Once I found your channel, I tried never to miss a video. You are a true Bonsai Master in all you do. May 2024 bring you 305K subscribers.

No it is empty of plants in the summer, hopefully I'll have some time to do some finishing work to the room!!!
Hmmmm. Do you run a fan in the plant room for air circulation? I'm curious if that would help.
👍👌👌
Bonjour

Yes they are native to Africa and can grow quite large!
