    "The Unspoken Bond"
    Some things are better left unsaid. A comfortable silence whispered over the unspoken promise exchanged when your eyes first met. Together you share a grueling conviction. He rewards your dedication with a persistent plea for your companionship. If only he knew the feeling was mutual. On that dark, crisp morning you embark to fulfill his inherent purpose. Four earnest eyes scan the horizon with a concealed intensity when that Lone Duck interrupts the desolate sky. The crack of your gun unleashes a frantic hunger to retrieve his fallen prize. He returns, fully saturated and satisfied, with the fragrance of gunpowder generously lingering. Together you celebrate a promise kept.
    Your binding faith is one that most can’t comprehend. They neglect the depth of the instinctive understanding you have for each other. Like the exuberant validation you shared in the field with that first Lone Duck. It’s feelings like this that remind you they’re reserved for a select few. There’s no need to fill them with empty words. Some things are better left unsaid.

    This is probably the best info about collars I have found - and I have been looking for a while - makes great sense. ! Thank you. Was considering citronella -however will not go down that path. i get it is worth spending a bit on a good collar and not F*** around.

    Curious do you use dogtra for all your training collars? Training a black lab on one right now. Found your channel from the pink gun. Super excited for some high quality duck related videos as it’s the majority of what I do. Going to do Patreon? Count me in.

    What about excited barking when working baseball drill? Not sure if it’s confusion barking or just excited. Should I add a bark collar to add to the confusion. Not sure what to do. Or How to stop it.

    Just ordered the ys600 for my pup she will be getting e collar training in a couple weeks but he said I can start early on her now to get her use to it. Any ideas or tips for a pup?

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  ปีที่แล้ว

      i'd first want to know how old the dog is and if it really is a pup, there's other ways to teach the puppy to be quiet rather than forcing it. the ys600 is a great tool but must be used correctly

    Do you recommend this even for dogs just in family homes (not working dogs) we have a 5 mo old golden that barks anytime we put it outside (for a break or to use the bathroom) just sits at the door and barks and is barking and nipping all the time at our kids...

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hey emily! yes, it'd work for your golden. that said, it sounds like there might be more to this than just the dog barks. i'd be interested to hear how much you really really work the dog so it can burn physical and mental energy to calm itself. taking the dog for a walk once or twice a day isn't enough for some dogs. that dog might need to go to the park and run off leash for a half hour or go hiking or do some training to mentally tire them out. long story short, yes, a bark collar would help here but there's maybe something deeper to help your dog be more happy, successful and enjoyable to be around.

    What in your opinion is the main difference between a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and a Lab? When it comes to both hunting and family dog. I have heard Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are more stubborn and harder to train. Less loving of strangers than labs. Any thoughts, an idea for a video. Thank you

    Thanks for the video man, it was insightful! The citronella ones feel like they are equivalent to us humans getting pepper sprayer or maced. I don't like getting shocked, but I sure as heck would take that over getting maced!

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  ปีที่แล้ว

      interesting. i once used it on myself (to test it, which is wild, i know) and it didn't feel like pepper spray. it was just uncomfortable and smelled bad.

    How young would you recommend using a bark collar? Should I wait until my dog is collar conditioned to recall. This would be his first introduction otherwise. pink gun

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I’m ok with using a bark collar before formal collar conditioning. I do it all the time with new dogs in our kennel and never had an issue

    How are the dogtra bark collars with whining? Will them stim for whining or no?

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      depends on how loudly they whine. sometimes it wont but if they whine and whimper and yip a little then yes

    Would a YS600 work for a long haired German shepherd who doesn’t feel other bark collars when he barks

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      call up dogtra and talk with them, they'll help you. i know you can get longer parts to parse through the dogs fur and make a connection. that said, it might be that you need the collar more snug, too. either way, call up dogtra and their crew will be able to talk you through what you need.

    Do they work with whining?

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  ปีที่แล้ว

      not necessarily. if the dog just kinda whimpers or is whiney, it won't catch it. they need to really yip or bark to engage the collar

    Bark collars are fairly controversial among some pro retriever trainers. For example, Pat Burns and Evan Graham are both anti-bark collar even though they train with ecollars.

    Does the bark collar stay on all the time? Or does the dog eventually learn to not bark and then no longer needs the collar?

    • @loneduckoutfitters
      @loneduckoutfitters  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      good question. don't leave the bark collar on all the time. this overuse can chafe the dog pretty bad

    My Chihuahua is barking when I leave. I'm going to have to rehome her if it doesn't stop. I'm disabled and leave for school and she goes bat shit crazy. I'll pay the premium price. Thanks.

    Don't: Don't put the bark collar on the quiet dog, he'll kill his barky companion.

    A simple verbal, "KNOCK IT OFF", and my dogs shut the _____ up. I actually want certain dogs to bark at intruders, but NOT at the neighbor's dogs, the dogs that are not intruders. They are on the other side of that fence every day. I just use the regular E collar with the remote control. If there is a thief the dogs have cornered or the dogs have treed a chicken killing ring tailed cat, I'd like to know, and I am on it. Yapping for hours on end? NO!
