The X shape, particularly the second one that was "floating" inside the bokeh ball made me think that it would be a good fit for gamers maybe, since that looked like an X button on a controller.
As for text, Video Essays come to mind. Having an effect where the answer to a question appears as the image loses or gains focus could be very useful for video essays or documentaries.
