New flooring is beautiful. I can’t believe the sub-standard paint The Villages uses inside and out on their new homes. For that price, they should be using top of the line paint and finishes. Not the case. Farrow and Ball paint has lovely colors, but we have wonderful domestic paint brands, even the Behr brand is excellent. I’m very glad things have worked out for you, Michael. I remember this video, and I thought then till just about 10 seconds ago, that a "birdcage" was an actual birdcage that holds birds, you know a SMALL cage. So, they say if you learn something new every day, you'll live longer, this is my "learn" for the day Jerry and Linda. LOL A birdcage is in fact, meant to be other things then something you hold your Parrot in. tee heeee....Here in Central Illinois, I guess I would have called that an enclosed patio. Cute. That blue he chose for the walls in other parts of the house is beuaitful! Door insert is fabulous. That heron sculrpture is gorgeous, too. The only 2 things I think he needs is an aea rug in the living room, and he's in desperate need of some drapes, those winows are nekkid as a jaybird.
We were told by people we know here that when we moved in we'd have a steady stream of neighbors knocking on our door to welcome us. Not one person did. We moved in a year after everyone else so we figured neighborhood friendships had already been established. So we decided that we would go around and shake hands. We also went daily to the pool, and attended every gathering we could think of. We've been here for 5 months now and we have friends and activities that keep us busy. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to people- people here want to meet you and befriend you.
Bill and Jeanie - you did the same thing I did - you got out there and mingled in the community, and naturally made friendships - glad you are enjoying the lifestyle here as well.

Sorry, I am a little behind in watching this week as I sold my house and moved this past week. Michael has done so much and so well. I appreciate him sharing his personal experiences in making friends especially living in a village with over 50% renters. Moving somewhere all alone is terrifying to me. I would love to come to Florida but can't see myself moving all the way from North Idaho south. On the other hand, getting 7 inches of snow this morning has me dreaming. I have been online perusing the Villa models and really liked this model but didn’t like the desk area in the kitchen. It seemed to me to be a waste of space so it was great to see how creatively he solved the problem. Great video. Thank you.

Sorry, I am a little behind in watching this week as I sold my house and moved this past week. Michael has done so much and so well. I appreciate him sharing his personal experiences in making friends especially living in a village with over 50% renters. Moving somewhere all alone is terrifying to me. I would love to come to Florida but can't see myself moving all the way from North Idaho south. On the other hand, getting 7 inches of snow this morning has me dreaming. Thankfully, I moved at the right time. Anyway, fun seeing all the improvements and as always getting his perspective. I hope you will followup with him again in the future. Thanks!
