I reckon this is an underrated game. I'd like to see it get more attention. The character idea adds something to what would otherwise be a fairly plain vanilla card drafting game. Good work, Becca.
Wow, I played this game growing up with my family! I think we still have a decades old copy lying around somewhere from like 2000. Love it.

I love citadels, but I prefer the version in the smaller box. Same game, just easier to store and carry about. Not sure I'd play it nearly as much if I had this version in the huge box.

You did a good job teaching this game, though I find it annoying that this reprint atleast tripled the box size for a game that’s just cards and coins. :(
yea, its called inflate the shit out of things in order make it look bigger and therefore worth more since we are indoctrinated to think that bigger is better. lies...all lies.
Was the original box big enough to fit the cards back in after sleeving them? If not you can bet they got complaints about that, and that would explain the oversized box.

Just a remake with a bigger box, larger cards and more unnecessary components.

Wait where's the 9th character? I'm 100% sure we've been playing Citadels with rank 9 character cards. The 9th category had Artist, Queen, and a Tax collector. Maybe we played a fake version or some expansion without knowing.
There are extra cards for a slightly different version. maybe you put one of those cards into the regular character cards.
I've played a game that is very similar to this. Apart from some minor rules.

I have 27 characters, how do i deal with that?
I'm not 100% on this because I have the other version of the game, but there is regular charcters and expansion characters, you can switch out one or more of the regular characters to expansion one's if you want to mix up the game a bit, to get some variation. The characters have to be switched with the matching numbered expansion character.. that's all :)
The first few comment here are always “I prefer tabletop” or “I’m here for Becca”. Come on guys, for ppl that pride themselves on creativity, the comments are awfully stale.

great game but this box is huge! it should be deck size box. and Becca looks amazing.
It's the 2016 edition! I have it and it's great. Same game and contents, just newer art.
If only I had a bunch of regular friends that I could see every week to get use out of this game.
