    I got this John Wayne gun and the Umarex Colt Single Action Army 45 .177 Pellet Nickel Air Pistol. They are the same gun just different logo on grip. But I don’t understand that one says it’s for shooting bbs and the other pellets. I shoot both on both guns and it works great. Put it in the shell and shoot. It’s all the same size. It’s for a .177. Correct?

    Thanks for the video. It helped convince me to get one of the blued ones. I used it as a training aid for the wife so she could properly load and handle the .45 and .22 versions. great for Grand-kids too.

      it certainly is, one of the best bits about shooting and owning this revolver! i'd go blued just for variety, but thats just me! james

      I just ordered the weathered version. I can't wait for it to arrive! To my taste it was also the best looking of the bunch. And that says a lot because the others are pretty damn good looking!

    Just ordered the "Duke" weathered finish from Amazon yesterday. Couldn't find the plain weathered version like your review anywhere. Not a huge fan of the "Duke" print on the barrel vs "Single Action Army .45" and the grip medallion but I'm still pretty excited to get it! Most likely end up with a blued version as well, although I wish they were available in the wood grip vs white.

    I bought the blued one, only trouble is it doesn't stay that way for long, the bluing wears off very quickly if you handle it a lot, only fired mine a couple of times but it's my goto gun to fondle, I don't mind the wear though as it now looks very old, just bought the nickle one and I must say it looks fantastic, wouldn't part with either of em now, best co2 revovler period although I do love my Colt Python 6" chrome.James, if you buy the nickle with pearl grips you can swap the grips around, the pearl ones look very nice on the black gun while the wood effect grips look just as sexy on the nickle one.

    • @ReplicaReviews

      to be honest it's just a standard rifled barrel- really isn't anything special, so not really worth making a video for, sorry.

  • @mikelagaffe
    @mikelagaffe 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yea they sound good but it kinda frustrates me...the true thing does 4 clicks when arming.... And the hammer seats fully forward where these replicas seems a bit off... and the shells just slides out i would have liked some resistance so we really had to use the rod like it should be.
    Other than that they're perfect. Accurate , weighty enough, they fit nice in my holsters too, and they really looks good when filming amateur cowboy action clips

    Even a real fire arm the bluing with war off in time I have the crosman sheriden cowboy pistol it's easier on clean and the cylinder can be removed I only fire bbs as lead pellets have been known to jam in the barrel there is no advantage as it's a smooth bore

      +ReplicaReviews Everyone who's into shooting of any kind needs to take the EU proposals seriously. They're going after nearly everything including deactivated, replicas and airsoft.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +a5teroth absolutely. exploiting the atrocities of paris to suite their agenda. my personal opinion is you will never unite all shooters as there seems to be this narrow short minded view of "well i don't shoot a semi auto so i won't bother", sacrificing others to save their own arses. it doesn't help that so called "prominent" shooters are going to the media referring to anyone that doesn't shoot big game or wear tweed as extremists and openly supporting the bans. its the sad world we live in. i for one will fight for any discipline, as like cliffs, there's only a certain amount you can erode away before it all comes to the ground! they're my personal thoughts of course and anyone is welcome to disagree. cant decide on the antique finish of blued.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Keith Beckett i had a similar issue. the reason i went antique was that i could just use it without constantly wiping off fingerprints, which i feared would be the case with the blued one. james

    • @keithbeckett1349
      @keithbeckett1349 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ReplicaReviews
      Yeah, that's exactly my worry, i really love the look of the blued finish but im just bothered about the constant need to wipe it down after handling...and it possibly forming rust or something eventually.
      Im not sure if it would be the case, but I assumed the antique finish would not have this issue, and would just let me use it all I want without the need for oil/cleaning etc whenever i touched it.
      How does the antique one hold up ? does it not require the fingerprints cleaned off at all due to the finish?

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Keith Beckett no not at all. i've never cleaned a single print off, mainly as there's never been ne left on the gun visible to clean. if you want one you can use day in day out without the fear of constant cleaning go for the antique. in my opinion it looks better too. james

    • @keithbeckett1349
      @keithbeckett1349 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ReplicaReviews
      Yeah I think it might be the best choice overall, I do like the idea of just being able to use it without needed to keep it spotless.
      And even though the others look very nice too, the antique finish technically suits the gun best overall I guess doesn't it.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Keith Beckett if you want one to use day in day out, one where you won't mind if you knock it, go for the antique, as its "pre loved". if you'd like a show gun then go for the blued one. james

    • @darylnahorny7929
      @darylnahorny7929 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      George Enscoe it dernds on the country your in but check your sirgun dealers or buy from an airgun dealer on line or order order durect from Umarex

  • @darylnahorny7929
    @darylnahorny7929 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The umarex peacemaker Actually has 4 stages (4 clicks) but one of the safty features Umarex incorporsted was when hammer is down it sits on first stage rather then on co2 release valve.
    If or press your trigger slowly move hammer forward till you feel it touch your co2 release valve hold hammer there release the trigger.
    Cock the hammer count the clicks 1 2 3 4
    Like the Real Colt SAA powder burner...click 1 the Safety stage sets trigger gun can not fire.
    Click 2 the Half Cock position, this releases the cylender locking bar allowing the cylender to rotate by hand enabling load and unload.
    Click 3 is the cylinder locking bar resetting itself.
    Click 4 cylinder sound of trigger setting itself in fire possition and cylinder locking in fire possition simultaneously
    The Umarex Colt SAA all have the 4 stage but with the Umarex it is designed thst the hammer sits at stage 1 ( click 1) the safety stsge to protect the co2 release valve.
    Also Note the 4 clicks is Not to spell out C O L T if it was then explain why the 1875 Remington and other single action revolvers from 1873 forward have 4 clicks.
    Also Note the Original Colt SAA was carried with 6 rounds safely. As was the practice with Colt precussion cap revolvers they lowered the hammer between caps preventing accidental discharge.
    The hammer if the 1873 Colt SAA was lowered so fireing pin rested between cartridges preventing accidental discharge this info from Colt also from my great grand fathers diary also personal experiance with my Original Powder Burners 1849 Colt 1851 Colt 1862 Colt 1873 Colt 1858 Remington 1875 Remington and msny more in my collection.
