Reise Reise is my favourite album. Reise Reise, the song is so majestic from beginning to end, love it. As for meaning, interpretation, it's very much down to the individual. It's something that, as you'll be aware by now, is pretty common in Rammstein songs. Again, as with a lot of Rammstein songs, better live. Either the Volkerball concert at Nimes performance or the Hellfest 2016 performance, both are excellent.
Reise Reise could mean to arise to wake up/get up and also to travel.. this is about seamen..men at sea or men in the Navy who are out at sea. Rammstein themselves have said they do not give out any of their songs meaning because they believe it's best for each person to find their own meaning their own interpretation to what a song might mean. Till is a poet and he is an expert in taking words and combining them together to have more than one meaning. To me the song is about being a sailor and how some stick the speer in a fish and others in men.. meaning not all sailors/soldiers are there to kill or like killing they would rather speer a Fisch to provide food then to kill a man. Many lives have needlessly been lost at sea that's why the 'waves cry softly'. It also doesn't matter if you kill a man or fish they both sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Well, I always was thinking about it, as the journey of life itself. You fell in love (some men with men, or the opposite) and when the relationship breaks your heart is bleeding. It is more said, "the river of life" (maybe that is only a one to one translation from "der Fluss des Lebens"), but I think it could reflect the ups and downs in someones life. What I love with Rammstein is, that everybody is allowed to interpret it in the way they want to. They hardly explain their songs, well right now, they are in trouble because of it, but Rammstein is a collective, which is hard to fight. And even if some in the German government would succeed, true Rammstein-Fans know, they got attacked by main stream media and the government from the beginning on, because they show the mirror of the broken society and undeveloped humans (mental undeveloped, like narcissists and co and there are some in EVERY GOVERNMENT, they get triggered by the truth) and will always stay behind them. I do it since I am 16 and that was now 25 years ago. Over time I could see so many "other things" and had myself "special experiences" that I have known from the beginning on, that those women are lying for getting attention and for all followers. THEY MOCK REAL VICTIMS, like me. There are more real victims who see it like I do and we are DISTANCING us from such women. Also, because some of us asked question, which we know from our own experience and so they have known we went through this AND THEY ATTACKED US INSTEAD OF ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS. THEY ATTACKED REAL VICTIMS!! We hope those liars have to pay, because THEY MAKE IT HARDER AGAIN FOR REAL VICTIMS. If it is not communicated in the US. Vilnius did not press charges, because Lynn told in the 5 hour interrogation, more than one story, means she was changing it again and again. Both, the Police and the DA did not press ANY CHARGES, because of it. She tried it in Belfast with the same result. Now she is spreading more lies. Shyx has to remove more parts of her videos, which was decided by a German court! One of the newspapers in Germany, also got dragged in court, and one newspaper in Switzerland delated its article themselves and signed papers not do bring an article like this anymore. So their "house of cards" is collapsing! But the band and Lindemann will always have the Stigmata, like Johnny Depp. Disney was crawling back to Depp now. I can not deal with this demons anymore!
