- Here is my tribute to the brilliantly funny 'In Living Color'. The show propelled the careers of Jim Carrey, David Alan Grier, Damon Wayans, Jamie Foxx, and many others into superstardom with the unforgettable (and hilariously shocking) characters they created.
I chose to focus on a handful of my personal favorites on this segment:
Jim Carrey's amazing impressions of Pee-wee Herman, Richard Simmons, Rocky Balboa, and Vanilla Ice as well as his unforgettable performances as the steroid-abusing female bodybuilder "Vera de Milo".
Jamie Foxx as "Wanda", the horniest ugliest woman in the world.
Damon Wayans as the verbally abusive "Homey D. Clown", the filthy, drunken homeless "Anton Jackson" as well as his perfect teaming with David Alan Grier as a pair of extremely effeminate gay men on "Men on Film".
Kelly Coffield is "Velma Mulholland", a woman who looks and acts in the style of film noir movies and her perfect imitation of Paula Abdul's ridiculous video for 'Promise of a New Day'.
Also includes Jennifer Lopez as one of the original "Fly-Girls".

Jim Carrey's impersonations were so amazing I can't imagine how good they would have become if that had been his primary form of entertainment. It really is unbelievable how talented he was on the first season of the show. He looked like he had been performing and developing characters for years rather than someone who was completely new in the business.
I will never not laugh at the way David Alan Grier says "strunfff". Slays me every time!🤣🤣

Kelly coffield was very underrated. She always put 100 in any skit she was in.
I always said and felt the same exact way. She was the 1st funniest white comedienne and she never disappoints.
You can really see how Men on Films influenced MadTV’s skit with Aries Spears and Deborah Wilson. (“And we are through!”)
Keenan Wayans has a eye for talent and know what we the public want to see
I watched in living color non stop when I was younger, never missed an episode. Even have the complete DVD set

my dad was so excited when he found all the seasons on dvd at best buy years ago and was like you need to watch this (I was like 12 or 13) and holy crap am I glad he did. we still say "LEMME SHOW YA SOMETHIN" when the situation calls for it.

I couldn’t stop laughing. My stomach muscles actually aches. It’s been awhile since this show has been on. I can remember that my stomach muscles (BTW where quite a bit younger then) also ached just as bad. Wife and I loved this show!
The woman who did the black and white monologue actually did a great job with her voice
I know you won't see this comment but I was so frustrated that I couldn't remember what her name was. She really was extremely talented. Unfortunately after this show I didn't see her again. She was really one of the underrated Stars.
I'm still trying to figure out how they did the effects. Edited blue screen, but either way it's done extremely well. Respect to the fx team. 🫡

30 plus years ago! Brilliant, and none of us were offended back then .... WE LAUGHED. Today, comedians daren't make skits like this least they be cancelled and told what awful people they are.

When I was young, I thought Grace Jones was so scary! Seems like she was promoting a fitness program of some sort but she was using her Conan persona. She's like 'you better do it!' One tough cookie!

That was cool with all those real clip segues since some of these skits may not be recognizable to everyone and a refresher to the rest.
Sadly we could never have comedy as good as these anymore because of pc crap.
We could if there was a network that just ignored their whining like their mothers should have done. After all, It's not like the "woke" poseurs can actually _do_ anything about it.

In Living Color needs to make a comeback somehow #InLivingColor
Back in the day, we did not have all the time-sucking distractions of today, so we reflected on things and had more perspective and creative social insight. Today, most are looking to hack their thoughts and way of living, looking for shortcuts to thinking. Life is best lived being present and detached in the moment with an open mind, available and ready to experience the here and now. I don't see that as much today.

Thanks ET 👍! At my house, we use to have LIVING COLOR PARTIES! A s with about 20+ Friends. All LC one-liners & Skits became our own Private inside jokes! I still Share , Find & also receive Clips on various Social Media Sites. Unfortunately you do know- IF these Skits were to attempt to Air / be Forwarded & Posted today & last 5-6 years, They’d All be BANNED! And what a loss to Comedy/ Satire it would be! God Bless & again Kudos!
