Exactly what I said. No attempt in acting to make a different character. Same mannerisms, pacing, and delivery. Perhaps if he'd been more subdued and self-conscious, or ponderous in his delivery it would have been more interesting.

I live in a big neighborhood where people treat me exactly like Tony was treated in this episode. It's an unsettling feeling when there is no excuse for such cold behavior. I find dealing with people with odd cold behavior is to realize it's their problem not yours. They obviously have personal issues. Tony I think brought much of himself to his roles. A rather kind and peaceful person. Easy to like. RiP Tony Dow.

I did not like Beaver either. He lied in nearly every episode. If I lied that much to my parents I'd have been dead. And Ward wanted to discipline him but June would not allow him to smack the hell out of the r*tard. Beaver would fall for anything, had the IQ of and ant and lied constantly. What was to like? If you have never seen it before, listen very closely to the conversation around the kitchen table at the beginning of the episode. The Douglas boys reactions to the events that transpire will make much more sense and consequently the episode will be that much funnier. I don't care what anybody else says, the funniest humor is always born from entirely believable misunderstandings. RIP TD.

A sitcom with Wally in College would have been great to see.!! 😍
Boy next to wally ...tim C was nothing... and i liked Tim C since MMC serials. I guess character Gilbert received cooking lessons from his Uncle Charley AND how not to be self-centered, but responsible, giving and forgiving....unlike don grady and the other 2 sons portrayed in this telling episode. This is a very revealing transition for the way our generation would be transitioning away from....good bye sweet sweet wally!

Walleye should have remained on the Levittown Beverage Program instead of switching to this awful _My 3 Sons Show._ Walleye seemed relatively normal in comparison to the other characters, who behaved in an extremely peculiar manner. This was the most wretched sitcom of all time.

this was just silly. I guarantee EVERY person that watched MTS also watched LITB and when they saw good ol' Wally turn up here in "disguise" with glasses they just laughed and said "What the hell is Wally doing there and WHY don't the Douglas boys "recognize" him? It would have been MUCH funnier if Eddie showed up instead....

Wonder why they stopped lightening Chips hair? It was quite light blonde in the earlier seasons I thought a little TOO light but this is a drastic change. In the pilot his hair looked really natural.

This was the last episode of Season 4. Great episode and nice to see Tony Dow, God rest his soul, branch out. All four of them did as they carried this episode. Tim C, God rest his soul, was another great actor and writer. He wrote the best My Three Sons episode ever in Season 5.

This came a year after Leave It to Beaver left the air. There is an awkwardness about seeing Tony Dow in glasses trying to be a social misfit character when it comes off as Wally Cleaver in glasses. His mannerisms were the same. There was no change in his "acting" to create a different character. The entire episode and the interaction with the other characters is strange as well.

When I saw that show back in the day, it flipped me out to see Wally Cleaver eating at their table. Even the brothers are looking at him like he's Wally. I saw him on a beach movie and there was Wally Cleaver again, sitting on a beach blanket with girls in bikinis.
