    I'm also looking forward to the stl being available. The amount of time I'll save cutting and sticking individual tiles out of cardboard will be great 😁

      www.thingiverse.com/thing:4304537 I have finally posted an experimental version of the roller! Go check it out! I'm still working on it so I'd love some feedback if you try it!

      @@CraftLogic cool, I'm still waiting on a 3d printer, but I'll definitely try it once it arrives.

    Thank you very much for share, just subscribed. Already read the comments below and you mention this is experimental, but it seems to work perfectly fine on the video... Recently found a 3d printer service here in my country as I don't have a 3d printer so I tell them to print me your design. Thanks again.

      Thanks! I hope you enjoy it! I haven’t used it in an actual build yet but I do think it will work well in actual use! The example in the video is a little soft on details but a little more pressure while rolling the texture should fix that!

    This looks amazing, will have to try it eventually. Have you considered making a corrugated steel roller for things like factory roofs?

    The end result looks awesome. The only thing I would change is to make the pattern a little less regular, most old buildings with shingles don't have them all exactly the same size. Shingles also get replaced often because originally they were just held in place with wooden pegs. My parents live in a 500 year old house, listed building, so they still have to fix their roof the old fashioned way with shitty pegs.

      Absolutely! This one was mostly just to prove the concept. I agree completely about making a less regular pattern.

    Tell us when you have the STL ready. I want to make a spanish villa, and this roll will make my work a lot more easy and faster

    Great video, well done! How do you apply the texture to the cylinder? I can apply straight textures but have no ideia how to add 3d textures do the cilinder

    Nice idea, which scale is the rolling pin made for?

    • @CraftLogic
      @CraftLogic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I made this one for 28mm tabletop gaming. It is probably a little large in reality but looks good a few feet away on a table. I am planning a build with one of these soon and might make some scale adjustments for it.

    Very nice video! But, I had to laugh at the fact, that, someone making "rollers" doesn't have a rolling pin.. : )
