    Sometimes I have to sprint to catch the bus and I feel like I'm running super fast. I could never get that feeling in training and definitely not in competing. I wish there was a way to run like I have to catch the bus every time. I guess it's just that sense of urgency that I never have otherwise.

      Maybe if you can train with a partner, you both train the same distance, they start 15 m before you and you have to chase them ! Works probably aswell the other way around, getting chased is sure stressing out ehe

    Thanks for sharing that good information with viewers on TH-cam. The statement was half right, the higher ground contact force is only during the maximum velocity phase of the sprint. Prior to that phase there is a higher percentage of the force output is horizontal than as the sprinter accelerates horizontal component decreases and the vertical component increases. The reason for this is the total force output is fairly constant from the start to the end of maximum velocity phase, then as the athlete fatigues with depletion of ATP, ADP, and CrP stores in the muscle the force decreases. At Maximum Velocity Phase sprint mechanics, the sprinter is trying to conserve momentum and energy built up over the start, drive phase, transition, and acceleration phases without as little energy usage and make the maximum velocity phase as long as possible. I am glad to see sprint coaches pull in the science and reference it. Keep up the good work. I got a question real quick, so I was running extremely fast less that 2 weeks ago but now my speed has decreased a little bit I was wondering what I can do to get my speed back?

    • @TheSprintProject_
      @TheSprintProject_  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      you might just be fatigued, its likely that with some rest your speed will be back in a week or so

    • @biagiolorenzi190
      @biagiolorenzi190 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      When you train a skill your body basically needs a resting period afterwards, after this period of 'rest' we see a spike in adaptation of the skill, called supercompensation. Two weeks ago you were probably at the top of your cycle, meaning you would be able to perform optimally, and now your body might be recovering. But there could of course be other possibilities like shoes, weather condition, running surface etc.

    • @Ohelloabhi
      @Ohelloabhi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same thing happened with me too a month ago
      I was working on proper leg posture and i succeeded
      And you won't believe i was flying when i fixed my leg posture
      But after that i was not able to achieve that top speed after that day
      But the conditions on that day were also very good like the weather and also track surface was harder(dirt track)
      I never got same conditions after that.
      Maybe that's the reason

    • @russwellen5760
      @russwellen5760 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes I forget about an aspect of my technique that was making me fast. When I'm slowing, I review what I was doing when I was running faster and return to it. Though, as Cesar says, fatigue, presumably from over-training, is the biggest culprit.

    Seems like the elite sprinters get more force because they apply the force when the foot is under them in midstance when the ground force has moved behind the hip.

      @@davidh5429 or does it just correlate to the centrifugal acceleration of the leg as ot travel's downwards?

    • @rayantraceur
      @rayantraceur 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Applying no vertical force would cause you to drop, so it's necessary. At least to stop your downwards momentum (of which speed peaks just before touching the floor again), because each stride pushes you a bit upwards.
      Pushing too weakly would make you fall on your knees.
      Pushing too much would make you bound, which is not ideal, speed-wise.
      So there is a balance.
      BUT I don't have the end of the reasoning :p
      I would say that decelerating MOST of the downwards speed very early, by taking a big impact, then allows you to focus on pushing backwards more, which is easier than pushing backwards and downwards.

    • @brianlamptey4823
      @brianlamptey4823 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rayantraceur after many months of contemplation I realized the vertical force is a form of centripetal-centrifugal acceleration acting on your foot. Once it gets behind you it's horizontal force.
      Bounding comes not from an excess of vertical force but from allowing the rebound displacement to reach your hips instead of throwing your foot back relative to your body.
      One thing to note is that peak vertical force is optimal at top speed where you already have the momentum to facilitate rotation. In the drive phase you aren't hitting the ground.
      Also, vertical force helps to load the tendons, which are used to redirect the rebound force from hitting the ground.

  • @2DarkHorizon
    @2DarkHorizon ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It is the "result" of running faster not really the "how" to run faster. For example if you run in the same place by tapping the ground very fast. You will get shorter contact time with the ground and higher force but you won't be going anywhere. The how part is still the mystery. However a clearer picture on the result needed does give insight into the how.

    • @supersports9936
      @supersports9936 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What he is saying is that a large amount of force must transfer into ground at a rapid pace. Slow people= less rapid pace and less force. To run fast you have to train high force in minimal rate of time. So plyos with emphasis of getting off ground with fast impulse of muscle contraction, meaning touch your highest point but fast impulse. Power cleans have fast muscle contraction speed and quick muscle impulse. Don't try to push ground as that will cause you to spend too much time on ground. Imagine a quick contraction but max power. Also improve your max horse power.. meaning your max weight in calf raise and box squat, obviously this is slower rate contraction but still try to be quick rate while doing then but increase max weight strength. You have to have a higher max strength ceiling for legs in order for power to produce. Plyos are the max contraction speed and the weight lifting is fast but mostly to build your strength/horsepower in legs and calves :) also work hip flexors for turnover speed in pool

    you don't/won't understand it.
    It's always horizontal force/impulse what causes speed. Vertical impulse is important but only a certain amount. Too much is even inefficient.
    Most people can reach 3-5x BW vertical force just by doing stiff leg jumps.
    I have discussed this topic multiple times but you still can't comprehend it.

    It is a bit long, but it's worth reading.
    He was betrayed by his disciple.
    He was left alone by all his disciples.
    He was killed for others mistake.
    He was killed though he was innocent.
    His own brothers didn't believe in him.
    His mother had to watch him die.
    Everyone knew he was innocent but still they killed him.
    He is to be treated like Kings but he chose to serve us.
    He still forgave the people who crucified and mocked him and he said Father forgive them for they not know what they are doing.
    What has more greater love than this?.
    All for our sake.
    The man Jesus Christ. He showed us true Love.
    John 3:16
    For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
    But There's a happy news. He rose up again after three days just as he told. There is no greater blessing than having God as our Father. He's coming back soon. Let's all repent and turn from our old ways and prepare our hearts for him.
    This is the prophecy about the second coming of Jesus
    Zechariah 13:7
    “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the LORD Almighty. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
    This is the fulfillment of the prophecy.
    Matthew 26:31
    Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “’I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
    This happened near 30 AD.
    Hosea 6:1-2
    Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.
    After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.
    In prophecies 1day is equal to 1000 years. Which means after two thousand years Jesus will return again.
    And on the third day which is the 3rd millennium, we will live in his sight. We all know we cannot see God's face and live on Earth. So it's the second coming of Jesus.
    Luke 21:11
    There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
    Matthew 24:6
    You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
    We are the witnesses of all these things. From the death of Jesus to 2030 there are 2000 years.9 years is left until the 2000 years are complete after Jesus's death. Jesus is coming soon. Let's all repent and turn from our old ways and turn to the Lord.
    Praise the Lord.
    Peace and Love to you all.
    Easter is pagan, the resurrection day of the Lord is correct and please stop taking the Lord's name in vain like saying omg or using it with a bad word or taking it in anyway that is in vain. Even the devil trembles in his name and we shouldn't use the powerful name like that. For the people who says Jesus is not God here's a verse.
    Isaiah 9:6
    For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
    God bless you all.
    Please spread this message to the ends of the world.
