    Bloody hell
Cortina savage. I live in Birmingham, i recall a popular pub called the Golden Cross near Harborne in Birmingham. I had a lift home from that pub in a Cortina savage, bloody powerful for them days, i think it was a V6 powered car???? It was 1970s sometime.

One of Dave Austin's cars, really well known in Lotus Cortina circles. This is one of the fastest mk2 Lotus Cortinas out there.

@ 1:01/3 that's a Lotus engine I lusted after one enough with my over bored cylds and over bored Valves and seats in my 1500 Corsair (they left the Cort's standing in the LOOK'S dept) Oh and don't forget to put a Flywheel off of a 1200cc Anglia same size clutch lighter weight increased rev speed build up :-))

The Uren savages are a better car much faster but 12 to the gallon. Very under geared. 85 mph is 4.700 rpm. So in the red at 100 mph they needed an extra gear and higher ratio axle. They were basically built for acceleration. Not really a long distance cruiser. But still a nice classic car especially in the 1600 E model. The had the bigger Dunlop alloys. And servo brakes.

@@bigpants6121 Its a twin cam 2 litre unit. The cams drive each other at the back with the one driven at the front via a belt.A chain drives the other.

@@glennpowell3444 Thx. I didn't think this one was a Savage even though the clip said it was !

It's originally a 1558 cc 4 cyl twin overhead cam engine, both cams chain driven by the crank on the front of the engine and the cylinder block is ford 1500 pre-crossflow unit as fitted to standard cortinas and corsairs.

Lotus Cortina with race history considerably improves its value and providing it isn't a rot box falling to pieces will command a very high price

not a savage, either a genuine locort or a gt cloned, need Vin plate and further investigation to confirm

No it had the zodiac v6 3 litre engine. 146 bhp and loads of torque. So pretty fast. Almost the same BHP per ton as a standard sierra cossie

If it has been rallied the prop shaft is likely to be distorted.

Typical Fix On Regular Days Bracing Bars all over At least they could corner better than a Capri(the polite word for them)
