    my hair grows best with braids, because it provides easy access to my scalp. i keep em in for 21/2 months, let my hair rest a week, put braids in again. I usually retain 2 inches of length every two months using this regimen.

      cherishdeb how do you care for your hair underneath the braids??

    • @MichelleIjeoma
      @MichelleIjeoma 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Naturally Blessed Same here!!! I feel my scalp can really breathe and I can take special care of it.
      I know your question was for Cherishdeb, but I figured I could give a few tips that have helped my hair thrive while rocking braids.
      Scalp health - mix your favorite oil or oils with a few drops of peppermint oil, tea tree oil, and/or rosemary oil. A concoction like that really help with stimulating your scalp, which will help promote healthy thick growth. I use olive oil and JBCO mixed with those essential oils.
      Your Actual Hair - As for the length of your hair a simple water mixed with leave-in conditioner really does the job for keeping your hair moisturized. That way, when you finally take out your braids your hair won't be brittle and break. I moisturize twice a day because of how drying braiding hair can be. I hope that helps

    People are convinced that weaves are for bald headed people .I am glad that you addressed that it is a protective style! I have been wearing weaves and protective styles for 2 years and have seen tremendous growth! It really nourishes your hair. The benefits are not disappointing. Especially if you are trying to regrow or repair damaged hair. Thanks for the tips love! Well needed.

      8-12 weeks depending on how solid your foundation is.

    This was an excellent tute for weave wearers and how to maintain and clean it.
    You took it step by step where no one should get it wrong nor have the embarrassment of having stinky hair or scalp.👌

    I've seen a few videos where people go right in with water and shampoo and I get really concerned. I'm happy you took the time to do several steps to remove build-up to prevent matting and dreads under the sew in. Thank you for explaining so well :) Great video!

    Great video! I think this tips are super informative - you really covered every step of weave care for growth. As an additional tool, I recommend the luxe therapy weave massager it is amazing and really gets under your braids to cleanse and massage your scalp without causing breakage, damage or frizz. It's a staple in my weave care regimen, when I decide to wear weaves.

    • @VirgoGoddessXxo
      @VirgoGoddessXxo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      RoseyBlu me too, I prefer wigs for that reason. But my edges are so damn sensitive they suffer under my wigs... even short term, like say 2wks smh and I don't even make them tight. I'm here contemplating sewing in this hair and frontal I bought vs making a wig 🤔

    This video was extremely informative (I just ordered the blow drying cap and scalp massager). I love my protective styles, but my natural hair looks terrible when I take it down. It snaps so much that it almost defeats the purpose of 'protective' styling. Thank you, I will incorporate your ideas into my routine.

    I was always scared to wash my hair when it was underneath a weave cause I didn't want to get it wet and not dry it properly and having it smell like mildew lol. So I keep my sew ins for one month because by that time, my hair needs to get washed and deep conditioned. Great video tho. 💕
