Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I don’t care that his claws are too _long_ since this is a comic Wolvie that’s a bit exaggerated. My issue is that they’re way too close together, if they were splayed out more and slightly more stylized like say the Revoltech, then I’d be fine with the claws.

Besides the crazy price, MAFEX has done really good with their comic figures, but again the price for them is way to high.
@Ari Awan yeah, but not with the qc of this one. The mafex original comic spidey was an amazing release. This is not the case for this one with all the errors and qc issues.

Call me crazy, but I actually bought this figure just to put the heads on my Marvel Legends Wolverine. This one has better articulation for sure, but I'm not the biggest fan of the body and its aesthetic (I wish the proportions were a little more squat, I don't like the almost metalic look to the blue, and I wish his claws were just a hair shorter). So yeah, I paid around $90 for basically the three heads lol. Well I guess it's just like Wolverine said in X-Man TAS: "A fool and his money are soon parted!"

@@alessandrooliveira3819 I already modified the heads (you have to remove the insert in the heads to make the swap, and that takes a little bit of work), so there's no going back now since they no longer fit on the Mafex body. Besides, I don't want to risk the bootleg having bad paint apps. I'm okay paying more if the paint is cleaner.

This was my first mafex figure and i love it. Not picky enough to worry about the small aesthetic things people seem to be upset about like the length of his claws. It’s pricey but it feels worth it with the packaging and the contents I got. Also just picked up the cosmic ghost rider and they both look great with my thing and colossus/juggernaut 2 pack all posed up

I dig this figure but yeah, I don’t understand why MAFEX got so expensive. One of the main appeals of imports was the prices were only like 50 to 60 bucks a few years ago. But now they’re all around Mezco prices. I was considering the MAFEX Cyclops but I don’t know. I like him but he’s not like a favorite character or anything.

Theendingman Considering imports were usually around $40-60 from 2015 til like 2018/2019 it’s a valid complaint. If people still want the figure enough, they’ll shell out the cash but these prices are definitely gonna make collectors drop out or be more picky.
Japan's consumption tax has doubled over the past few years, which is a factor. Plus I think companies have seen consumers are wiling to pay, so are pushing the boundaries more. The Mezco line you're referring to has gone from $60 to $90 average in the same period, without any tax hikes, so they're no better.
Print Rabbit True, but based on my experience most Mezcos pack in that value. Imports can be hit or miss. Most web exclusive imports just give you the bare minimum. Some recent imports just pack in a side ways looking head and like 2 sets of hands. If you’re paying Japanese prices, it could be fine. But paying over 80 and barely getting anything is a valid reason to be disappointed with something.
Well if considering prices+shipping I got Mafex figures for 60-70$+10-20$ for shipping = overall 70-90$. But consider getting a Mezco figure from the US, 80-90$ for figure and 20-40$ for shipping = overall 100-130$ per figure. Then I will stick with Mafex.
the size of the claws are fine with me because it is like marvel vs capcom also in the comics they craw his claws longer sometimes so that is fine for me

$90-$100 for one figure or $60-$65 for the love triangle three pack, I'll take the three pack.
When a mini review is longer than normal reviews
Well, if you think about it; his claw would only be about 3-4 inches since it would pop out of his wrist once he bends it. Let's just assume comic logic and in between his knuckles is a portal to another dimension to a universe of claws.
Ronald Ramos his claws are actually stored in his forearm and not his wrist.

Anyone out there that wants to get this figure for the lowest price, go on Amazon Japan. I got mine for $80 shipped, and got it in 6 days (I'm in the US). So it's definitely not a $100 figure. I have two, and no issues with the arms falling off, unless I literally pull them off.
It is too high for what you get, but at the same time worth _every_ penny. Hands down, the best Wolverine figure ever. I own all the Legends ones, and there's no comparison lol. But, I've been a huge Wolverine fan since '85, so that probably has a little bit to do with it.
I've seen a number of people online who had their cel-shaded Spider-Man's wrist pegs snap, so apparently you're not the only one with that issue.

But I agree, this figure is really good but overpriced. There are too many flaws and it's debatable whether it beats the 1/5 priced ML version.

Mine just arrived in the mail a few mins ago.
The MAFEX is fine, but there are three flaws that are too glaring for me. 1) He's too tall. If you're just going to display this figure by himself, it's fine. But if you're going to put him in a display with other characters, he's too tall for 6 inch figures and too short for 7 inch figures. This is supposed to be 6 inch scale, so he should have been shorter. 2) The claws are too long and straight. If they were shorter, they would look much better. Or if they kept the length the same but give the claws a bit of a curve, they would look much better But as they are, yes they look like rakes. He looks like a gardening tool. And 3) the stripes should be black. I know they sometimes shaded his stripes in blue in the comics, but it was always meant to be black, and them being blue makes them stand out too much. The Marvel Legends figure may not be as good in terms of articulation. But I can live with that. The most important thing in a figure to me is the look. And the Marvel Legends looks like the Jim Lee designed Wolverine I picture in my head. This one doesn't. That said, the unmasked head this comes with is miles ahead of any other unmasked Wolverine head we've ever gotten from any other company.

Dope review. But in marvel vs capcom 2 wolverine had long ears. Long claws. And blue stripes. Also Adam Kubert drew wolverine with longer ears and longer claws so I'm not sure why everyone is calling this "rake claws" and saying this is inaccurate?
Guessing some of you either weren't born or just didn't read comics in the 90s. This isn't meant to be an insult just an observation. I've personally never had problems with the biceps. The price could be lower for sure but to each his own I guess.

You're right about the claws being too long. I also think the ears on the hood are over exaggerated. Those two gripes would kill a sale with me. I'm not happy with that arm issue either.

I gotta say, these one-take videos are really nice. The lack of editing flows so naturally, and you're not a guy that _needs_ the help of an editor program...not by a long shot. But as an artist and perfectionist and all that neurotic shit, I completely empathize with the need to constantly "fix" stuff.

I think there was one issue where Wolverine grew back from the cells on his skeleton or something extreme like that. He can grow the meat back to the bone basically, as well as other appendages as well. Luckily for him since Castle unloaded a revolver into Logans crotch before...
i hope people complaining about the claws realize the ML claws are also longer than his forearm. there are shading on his torso and legs btw. even the angry head sculpt on the top of the forehead. they are very subtle. and i've already fixed the arm. it doesn't actually pop off that easy anyway. you just need to make sure the shoulder is horizontal before you plug it back in and make sure you feel a click when it comes off. If you want to make it more secure just find yourself some Loctite Gel superglue, dab just a little bit of glue on the mushroom peg and let it dry. once you plug it back it it won't come out unless you really tug on it. as far as shoulder articulation goes instagram.com/p/B7-Uq8pHTdy/?

Where I live Mafex are about 20-30$ more than a Mezco one:12. If it wasn’t for the hush Batman and superman coming out I would never have spent cash like this on anything other than mezcos. I cancelled my Wolverine and Cyclops mafex orders as soon as I was able to hold this Wolverine in my hands. I hope the hush stuff will be better. Paint is shoddy too if you ask me for a 125$
Dude I finally found out how to get the mask to look perfect on the legends wolverine lol you basically have to separate the ears from the actual head and they’ll flare out perfectly it’s technically breaking your figure but it looks so much better
I really like this figure but I wish it had die-cast metal lower legs and an extra set of claw hands that were also die cast plus the tiger stripes should have been black instead of blue.

Wolverine does grow back his body
I've heard the complaints about the blue stripes. I think it is inaccurate to most depictions, but I was reading an x-men 90's trade a few days ago and the stripes were colored blue. I think it's an artist's preference kind of thing. I can't blame the company, the choice between black or the cool shiny blue.
Dang what sucks is that these are technically $50 figures. Its just the importing that makes them so high.
I know mafex is expensive but i like the 3-pack wolverine that is the wolverine i grew up..

Wolverine in some comics has blue stripes so it is accurate. Black more so though yeah.

It’s not inaccurate. There are plenty of images on goodly showing them blue. Often times the blue is really done as a highlight color over black but there is still a ton of images where they are blue. For the record, I prefer black. However, blue is not incorrect

I think your point about how great Hasbro has been with it’s Wolverines, the need for this Mafex figure is so urgent I think. Hell, most of us are more excited about Hush Bat Figures coming up for Mafex.

I love the straight parallel claws, but they are definitely too long.
To me this figure is based off of marvel vs capcom 3 he had blue stripes and long claws in that game.
You're definitely the only reviewer that's pointed out the hair is blue with a tad of black wash in it. Definitely should be the other way around. Another thing that's weird I noticed when I got mine, is that the arm hair is that same blue colour as the hair. Hm, what's up with that? lol
Unless Blanka is an unlockable character in Marvel vs Capcom 2 he is not part of that roster. However Blanka maybe on the X-men vs Street Fighter roster.
I can see why you don’t like the unmasked head and the claws, but I guess it’s that Mafex is going with a more stylistic look. The blue in the hair is more close to the comics because they use blue to show hair features. The claws are long because in most artist renditions of Wolverine, he has long claws.

the only grip i have about this wolverine are the claws, that they’re too straight, I like how the x force and brown suit claws look on them but this one, i have that’s it too straight overall great figure
The claw logic was my issue with the figure too
Not good enough for the price point, Mafex needs to be taught a lesson and we the collectors are the only ones that can teach it to them by not buying figures that promises and don't deliver. That price point for a 1/12 scaled regular figure puts it in the high end action figure realm and this figure doesn't live up to that standard. For that price point it should be comparable to a Bandai Soul of Chogokin, a regular 80USD one like the first Black OX or Koutetsushin Jeeg, and it can't even get near the quality on those figures. Thanks for the review.
Appreciate this review. Love wolverine and I’ve been going back and forth on this one. Seeing the issues, it’s definitely not worth the price point, plus I like to do stop motion and this would drive me crazy. Great video and honest recommendation

It isn't smart for Mafex to have done the shoulders that way. The cut goes too far into the chest and could have been avoided altogether to keep the tiger stripe solid. And speaking of the stripes, they're BLUE!
